Motorola Droid Bionic :: Setting Ringtones In Alarm?
Oct 27, 2012
I just got ICS and due to extensive problems I did a factory reset. I'm trying to set up my alarms with the ringtones I used to use - and I have everything in folders on my SD card as shown below. However, the alarm doesn't seem to want to use these folders. If I select music I get a list of the 5,000 songs that I have in Google music which is of no use since that's in the cloud and I need alarm to function at all times.how to change the location for the alarm ringtones?
I'm using the DROID RAZR HD. The factory installed alarm tones aren't useful to me and there's not that many to choose from. So I downloaded some loud tones thinking they would be put on the list of alarm tones. None of them did... So my question is..Is there a special way to do this? Or is it just not possible action?
I like some of the ringtones that came with the phone and would like to try some of them for the alarm clock. The ringtones that show up as options for the built in alarm clock are way too jarring for me -- they would give me a heart attack.
I don't want to have to go download stuff from online... is there a way to just use some of the other sounds on the phone?
I have had this happen a few times. I have a custom ringtone for my Alarm Clock. I put it in a folder on the SD Card: media/alarms. When I hook up the phone through USB to organize or add/delete files using a computer, the next morning my alarm clock has defaulted to an on-phone ringtone. I was used to my sounds being different while I have the SD card actively unmounted, but the settings were always maintained when I returned.
I tried it and the Smart Actions at almost the same time. My alarm went wack so I uninstalled both. I had thought Smart Actions helped my battery because I accidentally left the screen in never sleep and the next morning it had not died. But the alarm caused the screen to go black and when I clicked to set an alarm it went black and even caused a restart. I have never had a black screen/lockup before. I uninstalled both and all is well.
I have lablels assigned to my alarm clocks. In Gingerbread when the alarm went off it would dispaly the label on the screen. Are the ICS labels only displayed in the notification area? I could swear one time I did see the label appear over the large clock time on screen. I can't duplicate it though. See image.
I have this need for low resolution pictures. would like 640x480 at 1/2 meg or so. But if that isn't possible, can I lock in a lower 1mb setting? Now it takes it at a higher resolution and I have to resize each picture.
I installed the ICS yesterday. Now the Vibrate on touch in the sound setting drops out after five minutes or so.This happens every time I go back to turn it on. Also the sleep in the display setting keeps going back to 30 seconds, no matter what minutes I select . Is this a bug that can be fixed with a update or is there something else I can do.
I tried to use "Beautiful Widgets" to set an Alarm. I had it set to play "Clocks" by Coldplay at a gradually increasing volume, followed by loud beeps 5 minutes later. The problem is that I like to turn the volume off when I go to sleep (with just vibrate and no sound). I thought that an alarm would over-ride this setting, but it didn't. Is there a way to make it so that I can turn all the sound off on my phone s that no one can wake me up when I'm sleepiing, but still have the alarm over-ride this setting and actually make a noise at the set time?
My only "complaint" is that whenever a call comes in or when I make a call, it always has it on the phonespeaker and not over the car dock audio connected to the radio. I have to press the speaker button to turn it off each time.way to have it default to the speaker being off?
Does anyone know of any surefire way to transfer files to and from the Bionic to a windows 7 PC?
I have been using Zumocast, but that's only a one way deal. You can stream and download files from PC onto the Bionic, but not vice versa. Also, I tried to download a 1.4 gig mp4 file but it doesn't fully download, and makes my notification area on my Bionic force close and the whole phone just wigs out and requires a reboot. So Zumocast needs to do some updates in order to support large file transfer.
Anyway, I am looking for a way to transfer files from my phone to my computer(s) wirelessly. I don't always have my USB cable around.
Im having the same issue as a lot of other people (so i read). Mine has progressively gotten worse. My data connection shows active (sometimes it doesnt) but I cannot transfer data. After multiple restarts/battery pulls, i have data connection but NO app will transfer data except the web browser and dolphin. Even Gmail will not sync. So i can surf the web, but cant check my gmail app, pageonce, etc, etc. Wifi/bluetooth work fine. MOST of the time I can still text / make calls but not always.
I am hesitant to do a factory reset as the last time i did this, it did not change the problem and i was stuck with nothing because i had no data connection to connect to my google account with (nor wifi, i was on vacation).
I can get a 4G signal rarely in home. At work and mobile I am usually 4G.I expect to be on 4G for a few years (5G anytime soon?) and was thinking of spending $$$ on a Wilson repeater to pick up 4G with a directional antenna and amplifier for home: url...I am a licensed Amateur Radio operator and the principals involved seemed sound to me.Also, does anyone know how to put the Bionic into Field Test Mode?
Has anyone had a lot of luck with Zumocast on the Bionic playing differenct CODECS? I seems to work awesome but has some CODEC limitations, is there any way to use another video player other then the default Android one (which it appears to be utilizing)?
Any one have any luck getting the FIOS Remote app working on their Bionic? I got it downloaded and followed all the directions but it wouldn't sync up. Home net is a std Verizon issued router (only thing custom is the net name, channel, and crypto key) and the Bionic is able to get on the wifi no problem.
Gmail is my email. I long ago disabled the "conversation" (threaded) view of messages in Gmail iitself on the web, and in settings on any device. However, I can't find a way to do this on the Bionic. There's no option in accounts > Gmail. I HATE having the emails strung together like they were text messages. One of the major issues is losing attachments (ex: photos) in earlier emails once additional ones have been added to the "thread."
Have experienced this with a couple of applications (Freecaddie Pro and My Tracks) the program is suppose to store to SD card and it saves to internal memory. Spoke to the developer of Freecaddie and he checked and it is suppose to save courses to SD but Bionic saves to Internal Memory. With My Tracks even when I pick "Save to SD card" is saves it to Internal Memory. What is up with that and is there a way to correct it?I know my SD card is working because I have moved pics and music to it without a problem.
I had noticed this problem before with the USB not working with non Motorola cables (INCLUDING ones purchased from VZW before the release of the bionic)5. Issue: USB Cables:The XT875 can only be used with Motorola USB cables.Action: No work around required.Resolution: No resolution required, working as designed and approved by Verizon Wireless.
When I go to "My Accounts" on my Droid Bionic, and then click on "Add account", I get the error message "Sorry! The application My Accounts (process com.motorola.setup) has stopped unexpectedly."
I wiped out my Bionic and then re-set everything up, and it was working fine until I added my FB account, and then removed the account. Now I can't add any new accounts at all.
I used Google's https: market.android.com to transfer all my apps from my Droid 1 to my Bionic. By and large it was seemless and quick. However, less than half of my Gallery pictures made it over. Because the Gallery is a stock app and not in the marketplace it is not on the the above market transfer desktop application.I also have astro and estrong on my device.
I am trying to set multiple alarms on my Droid 2 Global using the Alarm/Timer app that came with the phone.Let's say I set one at 6am and the next at 6:10am.The first alarm goes off fine. If I dismiss that alarm, the second one also works. But if I do not dismiss the first alarm, the second alarm never plays. I can see that it says the name of the second alarm on the display, but there is no sound.
The whole point is to have the second alarm play in case I sleep through the first alarm. If I sleep through the first alarm, I will not be able to dismiss the first one, so I need the second one to play out loud.Is there any way to fix this using the Alarm/Timer app?Or can someone recommend a better multiple alarm app?
Even when I have set the ringtones and alarm volume on the highest option, it is too low. In the early days it worked fine, but something seems to be changed in a default setting. How to adjust default volume settings of ringtones, alarm, music etc.?
Who's "bright" idea was it to re-skin the alarm clock app in white? I'm generally already in bed with the lights out when I set my alarm for the morning.
update this app with an option to return to "night" mode, ie dark screen with white text, like it was in 2.2
This morning was the second time in two months that the alarm clock on my phone didn't work. I've had my RAZR MAXX since the first week it was released, and I use it as my alarm clock every weekday. Most days it works just like it's supposed to, but this morning (and once probably a month ago), it never went off. When I unlocked the phone, the icon was in the Notification Bar as if it had been snoozed, but it had never gone off. My wife was already awake, and it was already about a half-hour past when it should have gone off, so I know I didn't press snooze.
