Feb 9, 2010is there a way to change teh default tone for the alarm on the Milestone? I woke up this morning and i nearly had a heart attack.

Motorola :: Milestone How To Enable Alarm When Phone Is Off
Feb 8, 2010This is my first Android based phone and I have some important questions (based on my personal knowledge of course):
1.Is there a PC program out there that would do the work of PC Suite for Nokia phones? i.e. backup phone through wire, update phone through wire, connect phone to computer and reply to sms’s through computer, synchronize contacts with Outlook and appointments and not wait to get an internet connection?
2.How can I enable alarm when phone is off?
3.I use open home – however it crashes a lot of times… is there another software, or we should stick to the one on the phone with 3 screens?
4.I tried to update my phone however it was saying that server was not responding. Can I do the update through usb?
5.How can I add birthday information to a contact?
6.If I use 3rd party applications for example “better keyboard” would it have any impact on the phone and overall work? Or it is ok to replace the default programs with anything else?
7.I tried to install Talk to ME keyboard, but it says that I don’t have Google voice… Is there another application that would do that work without Google voice?
These for now after 3 days of use of the phone!  I suppose I won’t get a reply for all , but on the other side, I don’t have anywhere else to ask except from you guys that are experts on these things!

Jun 13, 2010anyone know a good way to free up some memory and/or stop default stuff from running? when i first boot it load with approx 101mb free, once fully loaded im down to 86mb free. id like to remove/disable some of the stock apps and such that i will NEVER use, but ALWAYS seem to be running.im rooted and have RootExplorer if that helps any?

Jan 12, 2010so i recently just got the milestone and it connects to wifi fine and all.. the connection is okay, but when i try to disconnect from what im connected to, the wifi freezes and it stays on "turning off"it doesnt go away until i restart the phone.

Jul 9, 2010I just got a Motorola Milestone in the mail today. I liked the Moto Droid that Verizon has but I have no interest in going to Verizion again. (America's most reliable network does not work in my basement or in other parts of my home and yet Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile do )
So I got the GSM version of this phone.I have always liked that Droid! notification that alerts you to a new email in my mail box.Is there anyway to get that on my Milestone?Also is there anyway to access the apps store for the free apps without having to sign up for a Gmail account?

Mar 5, 2010Need a place to store that spare sim card? Trim a space for it in the foam inside the battery cover door. A little Iso alcohol will clean up the leftover glue.

Unfortunately it's a slider phone so there's probably gonna be a tough time getting a hardshell case.. Anyway, what's a good case? I know there's always "that ebay case" but this applies to any phone. With iPhones especially there's a good number of quality reputable cases. What about for Droid?
2) Screen protector necessary? I see people go forever with iPhones and no screen protectors yet their screens are nice. Yeah, coated glass is hard to scratch like camera filters. What about the Droid's screen? Should I get one? I may just order Bodyguardz/Invisible Shield.
Motorola Milestone/Droid :: Loose Volume Button And SMS Not Working?
Jul 13, 20101. Volume button: On my phone the volume button feels loose and wiggles. If you put your finger on the button, you can wiggle it (move it) up or down or side to side.It is not in any danger of breaking off or falling off as I looked at a pic of a droid dissembled and it shows that the button has little tabs on each end like the home button of an iPhone. But it is still very annoying. Is this normal on the Moto Milestone/Droid? or a sign of a future problem. The button works as it should but feels loose.
2. SMS: I bought the Telus version of the Milestone and I have configured it for AT&T and can browse on the internet with 3G, Edge and wifi but I cannot get or send text messages. I get no error but nobody gets them or when friends send me texts I don't get them ether.Is there some sort of configuration I need to do like put AT&T SMS number into it? I am scratching my head on this

Sep 10, 2011I tried to send an image to my laptop. I was able to pair my laptop and my Moto Milestone XT720.On the first pic that I've sent through Bluetooth it went on smoothly. But then when I tried to send again, it didn't went through.The error says "Connection failure". When I checked the bluetooth settings the the laptop is paired but not connected.I tried to unpair and then paired again but still it won't connect.I turned the bluetooth on and off and still not connected.I even restarted both my laptop and my phone and still not connecting.

May 11, 2011is there anything i can do to improve flash video playback? after the 2.2 update i was excited to be able to use flash on my phone, but video playback on it seems so bad that it's unwatchable.it's like a slideshow at best, and at worse i'm only getting one frame every thirty seconds or so. oddly enough the sound never skips or stutters at all.i've tried it over wifi and 3g. Internet videos in the native app and other non-flash streaming media seem to work perfectly.i'm using the stock browser with flash player 10.2.157.51 (the latest one available in the android market), and i've tried several different videos linked from m.flash.com

Apr 26, 2011I updated my Milestone which is UAE version to Froyo yesterday after a long delay, was really excited all evening until i discovered two problems with my wifi.The Device does not connect to the corporate network as my office uses 802.1x EAP and there is no place to enter proxy where as my friends using samsung galaxy s (Froyo 2.2) connect to the network and browse using the wifi advanced settings to enter the proxy in their device.

May 21, 2012I have a problem in my milestone. Im trying to update my milestone to froyo from eclair 2.1 update 1 via MSU (Motorola Software Update). But after some minute It restart with a blank screen then reboot to OS and MSU says update failed. Mar 12, 2012Have a brand new install of Windows 7 64bit and a 6 month old Milestone 2 which has always succesfully connected to PC/Mac in USB mass storage mode, but when trying to connect to new Windows & PC the PC tries to install MTP drivers that fail.Solution is to select the failed device in device manager and manually install the driver selecting the device as a USB mass storage device and not the default MTP device.

Nov 17, 2011I am trying to set multiple alarms on my Droid 2 Global using the Alarm/Timer app that came with the phone.Let's say I set one at 6am and the next at 6:10am.The first alarm goes off fine. If I dismiss that alarm, the second one also works. But if I do not dismiss the first alarm, the second alarm never plays. I can see that it says the name of the second alarm on the display, but there is no sound.
The whole point is to have the second alarm play in case I sleep through the first alarm. If I sleep through the first alarm, I will not be able to dismiss the first one, so I need the second one to play out loud.Is there any way to fix this using the Alarm/Timer app?Or can someone recommend a better multiple alarm app?

I'm trying to set up my alarms with the ringtones I used to use - and I have everything in folders on my SD card as shown below. However, the alarm doesn't seem to want to use these folders. If I select music I get a list of the 5,000 songs that I have in Google music which is of no use since that's in the cloud and I need alarm to function at all times.how to change the location for the alarm ringtones?

Apr 24, 2012I tried it and the Smart Actions at almost the same time. My alarm went wack so I uninstalled both. I had thought Smart Actions helped my battery because I accidentally left the screen in never sleep and the next morning it had not died. But the alarm caused the screen to go black and when I clicked to set an alarm it went black and even caused a restart. I have never had a black screen/lockup before. I uninstalled both and all is well.

I've had my RAZR MAXX since the first week it was released, and I use it as my alarm clock every weekday. Most days it works just like it's supposed to, but this morning (and once probably a month ago), it never went off. When I unlocked the phone, the icon was in the Notification Bar as if it had been snoozed, but it had never gone off. My wife was already awake, and it was already about a half-hour past when it should have gone off, so I know I didn't press snooze.

Apr 3, 2012Occassionally, when my alarm goes off in the morning, it won't ring. It will just vibrate. I have no clue why this is happening. I thought I had it figured out but it happened again today. I think it has something to do with smart actions (even though I don't have a smart action for alarm).
My alarm goes off vibrate only, no sound and a box is on the screen saying the alarm clock needs force closed. Then my phone freezes up and I have to turn it off via power and volume key. I'm using the stock alarm clock too.
