View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got a Motorola Milestone in the mail today. I liked the Moto Droid that Verizon has but I have no interest in going to Verizion again. (America's most reliable network does not work in my basement or in other parts of my home and yet Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile do )
So I got the GSM version of this phone.I have always liked that Droid! notification that alerts you to a new email in my mail box.Is there anyway to get that on my Milestone? Also is there anyway to access the apps store for the free apps without having to sign up for a Gmail account?
is there a way to change teh default tone for the alarm on the Milestone? I woke up this morning and i nearly had a heart attack.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI own a French Retail A953 Milestone 2 and I'm looking forward to android 2.3 update. So, after followed the thread [URL]and it's on ! The update is here.Unfortunately when trying to update my mobile using MSU the answer is "no new update availlable yet for your mobile"...I'm using A953 with Android 2.2.2 and the system version is Version.62.4.24.A953.Retail.en.FR.
View 3 Replies View Related1) I used to use the incase slider case for my iPod and 3GS. Loved it. Anything like this for the Droid? Unfortunately it's a slider phone so there's probably gonna be a tough time getting a hardshell case.. Anyway, what's a good case? I know there's always "that ebay case" but this applies to any phone. With iPhones especially there's a good number of quality reputable cases. What about for Droid?
2) Screen protector necessary? I see people go forever with iPhones and no screen protectors yet their screens are nice. Yeah, coated glass is hard to scratch like camera filters. What about the Droid's screen? Should I get one? I may just order Bodyguardz/Invisible Shield.
1. Volume button: On my phone the volume button feels loose and wiggles. If you put your finger on the button, you can wiggle it (move it) up or down or side to side.It is not in any danger of breaking off or falling off as I looked at a pic of a droid dissembled and it shows that the button has little tabs on each end like the home button of an iPhone. But it is still very annoying. Is this normal on the Moto Milestone/Droid? or a sign of a future problem. The button works as it should but feels loose.
2. SMS: I bought the Telus version of the Milestone and I have configured it for AT&T and can browse on the internet with 3G, Edge and wifi but I cannot get or send text messages. I get no error but nobody gets them or when friends send me texts I don't get them ether. Is there some sort of configuration I need to do like put AT&T SMS number into it? I am scratching my head on this
I tried to send an image to my laptop. I was able to pair my laptop and my Moto Milestone XT720.On the first pic that I've sent through Bluetooth it went on smoothly. But then when I tried to send again, it didn't went through. The error says "Connection failure". When I checked the bluetooth settings the the laptop is paired but not connected.I tried to unpair and then paired again but still it won't connect.I turned the bluetooth on and off and still not connected.I even restarted both my laptop and my phone and still not connecting.

View 3 Replies View Relatedis there anything i can do to improve flash video playback? after the 2.2 update i was excited to be able to use flash on my phone, but video playback on it seems so bad that it's unwatchable.it's like a slideshow at best, and at worse i'm only getting one frame every thirty seconds or so. oddly enough the sound never skips or stutters at all.i've tried it over wifi and 3g. Internet videos in the native app and other non-flash streaming media seem to work perfectly.i'm using the stock browser with flash player 10.2.157.51 (the latest one available in the android market), and i've tried several different videos linked from m.flash.com

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought this phone about three weeks ago from the AT&T store and purchased the proscribed "AT&T Zero" spare micro-usb charger that even Motorola sells on this very website as an accessory for the Flipside. I plugged the phone into my spare charger at work and discovered that I couldn't answer calls, could not navigate the screens without either looping behavior or the wrong "buttons" being pushed as I tapped the screen. As soon as I took the phone off of the charger, the behavior settled down. I took the phone and charger back to the store and demonstrated the same behavior to the salesclerk. He offered to replace the cable and/or charger and I insisted that we try the equipment first. The same behavior was exhibited with the new charger and cable, but, when he put the phone on his own charger (a Motorola branded charger), the phone worked fine. At home, as an experiment, we put my phone on my husband's Motorola BlueTooth charger, and that seemed to work as well.
My problem is, I cannot find a spare charger that will work on this phone. I am told that Motorola does not sell the branded charger separately. While the Rocketfish charger claims to be compatible, when tried in the store, the phone would not recognize the charger at all, or only intermittently. (I did notice on this board a tip about the cable being wire-tied perhaps being the cause of someone's problem - something to consider) I am left with two options, either carrying the charger around with me and purchasing the Motorola car charger for car trips, or buying a Motorola BlueTooth that I don't need just for its micro-usb charger.
I broke the mount to my 765t and wondered if anyone had/knew of a place to get a replacemnt. I have looked at several 'universal' replacements but none work quite aswell as the original.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter spending 2 hours on the forums and 2 hrs on motorola website, downloading the motorola software update and finding that the updater says that your phone is up to date with 2.1 (where as the motorola site says 2.2 is now available) and browsing thru unending discussions, I was unable to update my Motorola milestone to Android 2.2. I last week sent my phone to the service center to ask them to update it to 2.2, they returned the phone saying it is up to date.I am sick of removing applications and always worrying about the remaining ROM availability. [code]
If the official version is not available in Dubai can someone tell me of a shop where I can get it updated, as I dont really understand the concept of rooting and stuff like that.
Got mystery autoupdate to 2.3.3 from Verizon other morning - phone now has no SD card recognition -, i.e. no camera, music etc... - Scandisk 8gb card - data on card is intact when viewed from computer and file structure
View 7 Replies View RelatedAs I was texting, a message popped up stating that my phone storage was full. I stopped and checked the storage and memory space to see that they were perfectly fine. I went back to send another text and the message popped up again, the message didn't send and when I tried to access my texting again, it force closed until I rebooted the phone. I am using the stock messaging app, but a different home launcher. I have not previously had problems with this in the past using this same launcher, and only had 38 conversations going (all with only a few texts in each). Does any have any idea as to the reason for this and how I could solve this issue?
View 6 Replies View RelatedInstalled MotoSpeak to get the full benefit from the Roadster device. Immediately upon installation received a low storage message even thougth I had 29.97 MB available on my Droid 1. I have run with no problems at this memory amount before. But more importantly, I am unable to receive any text messages. Text messages are "rejected due to full message memory'. I do not have any text messages on my phone. Have deleted all of them before installing MotoSpeak.
This appears to be a problem with MotoSpeak and not my Moto Droid 1. Has anyone been able to get MotoSpeak to work successfully with their phones?
I have very few apps downloaded to my phone, but I am continually running into problems concerning a lack of available space. When I look at the amount of space each application is taking up, none of the apps is using more than about 7 MB except for email, which is using a whopping 191 MB. I only have 11 emails in my inbox.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had the number changed on my phone. Everyting worked until then. I can connect in all modes except for USB Mass Storage. I have updated my drivers, enabled USB debugging, etc. It works on another Windows 7 computer, but not on my main laptop. No matter what I do, it will not find the Mass Storage drivers. Everything else works great. I have to run in Mass Storage mode to get to some files for a work app.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI dont get when we're told about an upgrade, that you find it acceptable to TAKE AWAY features? i have been choosing Android over Apple for years for things such as USB Mass Storage mode. I know people who plug their phones in USB to their car CD Players and use it as if it were a flash drive. Now those users who may just have purchased a new phone are now screwed. You add features for upgrades not remove them. I am shocked and truthfully appualed to see where this new type of developer planning can lead to. Next were going to get pushed onto the cloud. If I'm going to remain an Android enthusiast and recommend Android to others you will not take away the things that brought me to Android! I could seriously put my Env touch before ever getting the FIRST OG Droid in Mass Storage Mode. This is not being posted to ruffle the feathers of users on this forum. This is intended as a wake up call to the developers to realize it was us phone enthusiasts that started this smart phone revolution anyways. We ousted Blackberry when they started acting like a bunch of tools. Don't do the same.
