I wish there was a way to customize the lock screen. For example I would like to put some contact information on it in case I loose my phone and someone finds it. I know there are "lock screen replacement" applications out there, but in my experience they have not worked really well and they kind of do a round about method of getting the screen to display.
View 2 Repliesi have just bought the atrix 2 a couple of days back and i updated to 2.3.6 (surprisingly) i have the stock lockscreen and wanted to customise it, as in it just has 2 options sound and unlock, i have seen someplace that you can add a 3rd and 4th option also as in some application on the top or bottom also another problem i have faced is with the facebook notifications, i donot recieve them at all, i have to manually check them on facebook application.

View 15 Replies View RelatedPeriodically the screen will lock up on my Xyboard. It is not a system crash/lock. This is where the screen stops reacting to touch. Usually putting it in sleep mode with the power button and then waking it clears the problem. Other times it requires a hard reset -- hold power and volume down.
I've had this issue twice on my RAZR since I got it in December. I've had it happen at least 5 times on my Xyboard since I got it Feb 1st.
I'm having trouble with my lock screen, when I go to unlock it I have to slide it numerous times to unlock it.I don't know if it is a problem with the screen or a software issue.

The setting is toggled to lock automatically after 5 seconds of the screen going off and immediately if you hit the power button.Settings under security)The problem is that randomly when you turn it back on, it will show the standard slide to unlock screen instead of the pin screen and then will just unlock if you slide it; completely bypasses the security lock.I don't think I set anything incorrectly as it behaves as intended 95% of the time. This is obviously quite a big flaw as it completely compromises the security of the phone which is unacceptable as my work email comes to my phone as well
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy phone locked up/screen went black during a phonecall yesterday. It was at night. So, it was dark where I was. I tried to access the screen. It would produce a faint light, but would not let me access the screen, phone or any apps. I was talking on a bluetooth headset at the time. Normally at the end of a call, I could hang up the phone by pushing a button on my headset. That wouldn't work either. The only way I could hang up the phone was to pull the battery.
how to diagnose the problem or stop it from happening again? Or, is this just a BSOD (black screen of death where phone locks up and requires a battery pull) that happened while I was in a phone call?
When my RAZR is locked, on the new Slide Lock Screen I can still pull down my notification curtain to see my notifications. I can then unlock my phone by selecting a Notification. As you can see in the picture I am able pull down the Notification Curtain while my phone is locked.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo, using the Moto screen that displays notifications, I swipe to unlock, then get another unlock for the main lock screen. Ergo, I have to swipe twice to unlock. Is there any fix other than no unlock? This leaves the phone open until the Moto screen takes over.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue where i receive the standard unlock screen even though I have a password configured. If I use the slide menu I am never prompted for my password. There are also times when the normal unlock screen will flash up and then go straight to my password.
Current configuration: PIN, lock screen after 5 sec, lock immediatly on power press.
This only happens when I allow the screen to go to sleep on it's own. If i press the power button I am not seeing the issue.
Why does my Razr Maxx go to lock-screen in the middle of a phone call? All my past androids stayed in an 'awake' condition while actively engaged in a call. Then, when the proximity sensor was triggered when you removed the phone from your face, the screen would light-up, the phone screen woudl be present, and you would simply end the call. Now, when I remove the phone from my face I find the lock-screen, so I must first unlock it before I can end the call. I have searched for a settings to fix this and cannot locate what I need
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust curious... I have my lock screen enabled (with numbers, not pattern). If my phone were to get lost or stolen, how hard is it for someone to bypass the lock screen? I was looking around on google and it looked like there were some issues in the past with the ease of bypassing it, but couldn't find if it has since been resolved with Froyo and beyond (left the phone at home, so can't test).If the built in password functionality is bogus, can you recommend any apps that you all like and are impossible to crack (or at least thug proof if I were to get robbed on the subway)? I'm really not interest in apps that locak individual applications, just the overall phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have two razr's both have all the same apps. We use chompsms as our texting app. On one phone it shows on the lock screen (Pic below) on the other it does not. BOTH have the stock app unchecked for default app, neither have disabled the stock app because it causes MMS problems. how one of us has it on our home lock screen and the other can't get it to do that? We didn't go to any settings to do it. BOTH of us had to do a master reset on our phones since the ICS update.
I've compared our settings and they seem to match it's really weird.
The Razr Maxx lets me operate lock screen controls like the drop-down notification bar and other things like BeyondPod control screen (with Previous, Play/Pause, and Next functions), but operating anything on the screen other than the lock does not prevent the screen from timing out and turning off. I don't know if the ability to operate anything other than the unlock function on the lock screen is a feature of the Razr or Android, but timing out while using other things that are available is annoying and doesn't make sense. Is this Motorola's bug or Android's?
Also, does Motorola development read issues on these forums or do we need to go through customer support for problems like this? I'm not sure which way is more likely to get through.
When the screen is locked and off and I receive a text message, the screen briefly lights up before going dark, playing the notification sound and lighting up the LED. I believe this is only happening since the JB upgrade, but I only had the phone a little over a week before the upgrade so I may not have noticed it.

For my info, I have my name, my google voice number, and an email address.I previously had an app to do this, but with ICS I no longer need it. I mention this feature because of something that happened to me this weekend. I have an Android ICS tablet on which I've also entered the owner info. I left it in a public place this past weekend. Before I had even gotten back to my hotel, I had received emails and phone calls from the person who found the tablet, turned it on, and used the Owner Info to contact me.Saved me at least $300 it would have taken to replace it. Which wasn't the worst thing - I had taken the memory card out of my camera and put it in the tablet. I would have been extremely upset at losing of days worth of very important photos that could have never been replaced.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis has only happened twice in the past 6 months, most recently today. I try to unlock my phone and the backlight will come on but the screen is black. Waited about 5 minutes and still the same. Power button will not shut it down. Pulled the battery and waited a few minutes and started it. Boots fine but I get a message that the SD card is corrupt and everything is gone. Had to mount and reformat. No new app's and I don't use any other launchers or lock screens so it is completely stock.

Is there a way to eliminate the standard unlock feature, so that I don't have to go thru 2 unlock screens to get to the homescreen? On my original Droid, once I programmed the lock pattern in, the standard one went away; not so with this one.
