After the last update, I noticed that a lot of SMS items that I had been keeping deliberately were lost and only the latest ones remained. I have two questions: 1- Is there a way I can retrieve them? 2- Why the people who designed the update take the liberty to delete messages without warning?

I have an 8900 that I wire sync to Outlook 2003 on my PC. Have calendar dates back to 2000. It will sync but alwasy wants to delete things in 2000 and now 2001. So I have to fish them out of the deleted items in Outlook and put them back. Memory seems to be fine on the BB and settings are "forever" and "two way sync."

However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. All it says it 4.6.1 (current) and the rest are downgrades, so I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get the new OS to even appear, much less download it and work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am in West Africa for a while and have a UK network which has worked fine. I upgraded my software when i connected to the device manager and installed. Since then i have been unable to get any emails. I usually use my WI-FI connection, which is till working but i cant get onto FaceBook or emails it just says no data connection available. I can send text messages and make calls but no emails!! its drove me mad so i reverted back to the old version from my Data backup and installed that, thinking this would help, but it still hasn't. I have never had this problem before. I tried to take out the battery and chip but nothing. (not sure what i was version i was updating but the phone says V5.0.0.592) if that means anything!! The phone was insured but since the contract was canceled they won't honor it. Is there anyway he can retrieve his contacts in the Desktop Manager? He backed it up all of the time Is the contacts in a file on the computer that he can read? thanks in advance. I looked in the loader back up IPD files and all I see is a lot of jibberish. I have reinstalled dm to the current version and still nothing. I have download multiple new 5.0 os(.348-.411) and deleted the vendor file and when i plug the berry in after installation it goes to check for a update and it does not find any. If you then try to go thru dm and update software it only has those two older versions listed even though i installed the newer ones.

Today when I went to use it, it told me an update was available, so I choose to accept the update. When it asked if I wanted to reboot/restart the phone now or later, I selected now. The phone proceeded to update the software and now I can't use my phone at all.
I tried connecting my phone to my computer so I could restore it, but desktop manager says it can't communicate with my phone. And when I plug in the power cord, my phone doesn't even register that it's charging up. So, since so much of my life is connected to my phone, and I can't use my phone at all, I'm squirming. Of course, AT&T online tech support is closed Sundays; I guess nobody else has a phone emergency on Sundays. All I get is a white screen that tells me to reload software.
I'll try again. Recently updated 9300 to 6.0 bundle. Lost all contacts except those on sim card. Is there a way to retrieve lost information.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter the update downloaded and while my two email accounts linked to my Blackberry still show up under email setup (under setup icon), I'm no longer getting emails. One email (gmail) icon shows up on my main screen but my other email acccount icon is gone. I thought I'd setup my emails again but when I go into email setup, both account addresses are there and both asking for a password (?). I even tried to change the password but, when I use the help instructions how to do this, there is no menu items for what the help suggests I try. I can't even delete the email addresses to try again.
