I downloaded the .681 os or whatever the sticky up top was.... I deleted the vendor file from common files, it hen load the desktop manager and click app loader and it says there is no available update? Any reason why? I have never updated this before, I'm running 4.6.1.231....
View 9 RepliesI've been using a daily horoscope program with no problem since I first got my phone a few months ago. Today when I went to use it, it told me an update was available, so I choose to accept the update. When it asked if I wanted to reboot/restart the phone now or later, I selected now. The phone proceeded to update the software and now I can't use my phone at all.
I tried connecting my phone to my computer so I could restore it, but desktop manager says it can't communicate with my phone. And when I plug in the power cord, my phone doesn't even register that it's charging up. So, since so much of my life is connected to my phone, and I can't use my phone at all, I'm squirming. Of course, AT&T online tech support is closed Sundays; I guess nobody else has a phone emergency on Sundays. All I get is a white screen that tells me to reload software.
I downloaded the 5.0 DM but my OS is still 4.6. What do I need to do to make my OS 5.0?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a blackberry 8900 and am trying to upgrade the software to the newest version (5.0 I assume). However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. All it says it 4.6.1 (current) and the rest are downgrades, so I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get the new OS to even appear, much less download it and work.

View 5 Replies View Relatedit seems with my new 8900 i picked up i cannot update to any os other than stock 4.6 ver(.231) or downgrade to(.114) to any other version. I have reinstalled dm to the current version and still nothing. I have download multiple new 5.0 os(.348-.411) and deleted the vendor file and when i plug the berry in after installation it goes to check for a update and it does not find any. If you then try to go thru dm and update software it only has those two older versions listed even though i installed the newer ones.

Do you think/know if it is possible to activate my data plan for, lets say, a month, install the new version, and then deactivate de data plan and keep using the v5.0 with no problems?

It shows up on my applications list but not with my themes. I've checked every folder and nook and cranny. I've even restarted my phone. The only time I can hear sound is when the headset is in. I have tried removing the battery, but still no luck. There has not been any water damage to this phone. It was working fine for a while, and then one day it just stopped.

Ever since then my phone will show the Blackberry loading screen, then the red LED flashed for a few seconds and then it does it all over again. I left the battery out all night it did not help. DM shows no PIN connected because it obviously isn't booted.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI had my phone outside with me while i was swimming. my phone didn't get wet at all and was never in the sun, and was covered by a towel. however, when i went to go pick it up, it was in the process of restarting. when it finally got to the tmobile screen, it vibrated, then turned off and restarted again. it's been doing this nonstop. i've tried taking the battery out, plugging the phone in, then putting the battery in. keeping it on the charger while it restarts. letting it die completely from it restarting so much. and leaving the battery out for a few hours before putting it back in. however, none of it has helped. I've looked at other forums and help sites, but it all says it has to do with a new os. i haven't downloaded anything on to my blackberry in months. i've seen things about using desktop manager, but my computer is broken right now, too. :/ for awhile, my memory card kept saying that it had an error and needed to fix it on desktop manager, but again, i haven't been able to use my computer.
