I just downloaded the files and the Recovery system came up. To install the update, I need to manually choose the files, but I don't know where to find the on my phone.

I just received a notification to update my rooted Nexus 5 to Lollipop. It downloaded the 440 megabytes and prompted for a reboot.
But it didn't rebooted. Instead, I got a menu from Team Project with some options. I just hit the "reboot" button and it rebooted to Android 4.4.4. Look like I have lost the lollipop update??! When I go back to check for an update, it says my device is up to date.
Why the Team Project menu showed??! What should I have done? Why the update is lost?
I've got an odd issue with Nexus 5. I had previously rooted under KitKat, and then decided to update to Lollipop. I used the adb sideload to push the OTA update onto the phone. It appears that in the update I lost my root (not the real issue) and everything with Lollipop seems fine. Something in my device claims that it's still rooted (even though every root checker says I'm not). I utilize the Good for Enterprise app and it's telling me that I'm not in compliance and keeps wiping my account (after setting it up again with my IT group). IT claims I'm rooted since it's wiping, but like I said every root checker says that I'm not. What I find weird is apps like Solid Explorer and Helium "think" I'm rooted for a brief second, but don't let me do anything that having root would let me do. (helium reverts to non-root after saying there was an error executing Superuser and solid explorer asks me to install BusyBox).
IIRC just factory wiping the device wouldn't get rid of root. Do I root again and then try to unroot? Do I try something else? Basically I don't need/want root, but I obviously want my Good for Enterprise to work correctly. I can always push the factory image onto the phone using ADB if that would work. I can backup most of my apps and such with Helium and start over without it being a huge deal but I'm concerned even that wouldn't work.
Updated my 5 to lollipop and haven't been able to send downloaded pics through messenger or hangouts. I can send pictures that I have taken with my camera but if I download one from a website and then send it, the person receiving it just gets an error message. I don't backup the download folder in the cloud and I have tried everyway possible that I know of to attach the photo in the message.

I have deleted and then restored accounts, cleared cache, checked to make sure all settings are correct in Google Now, all to no avail.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy nexus 5 GPS used to work GREAT under kitkat. However, after the Lollipop OTA update the gps signal keeps dropping and I am not able to use any navigation system.
I did try the factory reset but it didnt work.
A friend of mine is also facing the exact same problem, we both have the 32GB model.
My girlfriend, however, has not faced any issue after the ota update (she has the 16GB model). Her GPS works great! Our basebands versions are exactly the same.
I really need the gps. I use it almost daily!
I have a Nexus 6 that I absolutely love but I've just updated it to Lollipop and now my Gmail and Google Contacts are not syncing automatically. I've gone through all the settings about a million times and everything is setup properly. I'm currently using an app called Force Gmail Sync to keep my Google account synced up . It works great but I'd prefer to just be running Google apps on my phone and keep everything stock. I've tried a factory reset with no luck. Any secret way to set a sync frequency for Google's Gmail and Contacts apps without using a third party app?

When I plug my phone in the PC, the phone is recognized as a "media device" but the folder is fully empty, and nothing can be done.
Looking at previous forum posts, I have tried to check if the MTP was enabled, however I could not find the option (when I go to settings, storage and USB, all I can see is information about apps, there is no menu i can access to reach the MTP.

View 9 Replies View RelatedLike others, I tried the software update, and then my phone constantly got stuck at the four little circles at start up. I followed some instructions I found on AndroidPit:
1. From a powered off state, press the Power button to start your Nexus 5. When you see the Google logo press and hold the Volume Down key and release when the device vibrates.
2. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery Menu and press the Power button to select. This will bring you to a screen with an Android on its back.
3. Hold the Volume Up key for 5 secs then release and a new menu will appear.
4. First off, you can use the volume keys to select Wipe Cache Partition. This will cause your phone to restart. once this is done, re-do the previous steps to get back to the same screen (the one that Wipe Cache Partition was on).
5. Highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset and select using the Power key. Scroll down to Yes, Delete All Data and press the Power button again to select.
6. Your Nexus 5 will now wipe your data and reformat.
7. On the next screen hit the Power button to select Reboot System Now.
It has been 40 minutes now and it's stuck on 'Formatting /data'. Is this normal?
I've only had this phone for a couple of months and it was functioning perfectly until now I haven't rooted it or anything.

For example : i try to transfer an application to my device (I put it in Download folder) but when I go to my nexus 5 (Storage ==> Downloads) I can't see the application (like if it is hidden) and the same thing to the rest (document, music, video...) but when I transfer photos over the PTP, there is no problem.
I try to put something in a different folder in the storage of my nexus 5 but i have the same problem (it doesn't appear). I also try to creat another folder and transfer to it but in this case I see what I transfer but I can't click on it or select it.
My nexus 5's screen is damaged and cannot access my phone at all but can turn it on.
Is there a way to access the files on my computer without going through the phone.
I often use You Tube Downloader to fill my phone with videos to keep the kids happy, but when I've downloaded them, the Kids Corner section on my Lumia 920 doesn't find the downloads. I've tried looking on the phone for a file manager function, but can't find one.

View 5 Replies View RelatedCracked my screen on my Nexus 5 today (squeezed it in a door). The touchscreen won't work and you can't see anything except green and red stripes on the screen. Is there any possibility to reach the files from my computer even if i can't unlock the phone with my graphical password? It runs Android 5.1 and I haven't rooted it or anything. Very desperate to reach the data on my phone, have photos, videos and a diary from my year in Australia... Should think about back-up next time!

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is bizarre, everything was fine until this morning, not sure what's going on but the phone still comes up in Windows 8 file explorer, however as soon as I click the Internal Storage directory, file explorer stalls as the green progress bar slowly crawls along and eventually times out.
The phone says it's in MTP mode.
I looked at the driver supporting this phone for Windows 8 and it says it's from 2006. I found a link for installing thhe Google USB driver but there is no instructions for installing it in Windows 8, the phone not connecting to the computer in MTP mode which isn't an issue for me.
Rebooted the phone and tried again, no luck.
When I download email attachments( docs,ppt files) , where does nokia store the files ? Does every download create a cache of the file even though I do not explicitly save it ? Please let me know

I've tried with Device control (built in) and then with No Frills CPU, both with root access, and have not had any success setting my CPU speed. When I set anything on minimum, I exit the app and when I return it goes back to its original value (1574). Same thing with No Frills. I have BusyBox installed and the latest version of SuperSu. I do not have a custom Kernel, but my experience in the past has been quite similar with Franco Kernel and ElementalX kernel across a number of different ROMs.

Titanium backup app+data ==> Factory reset ==> Upgrade to 6.0.1 ==> root from 6.0.1 ==> Restore Titanium backup
Furthermore, is there any full clear guide for rooting from Android 6.0.1?
