When I launch Media Manager on my PC, I get a message that file "About_RIM_Background.png" is not found, and the application terminates. I found the file is present. What can I do to get pictures off my BlackBerry and into my PC?
I'm, new to blackberry, and on the first day I plugged my Curve 8520 to the computer and the Desktop Manager "recommended" to upgrade to the latest OS (v5.0.0.592 - Bundle1096 Platform 5.2.0.64). Since that I only have one glitch, the media folder is called net_rim_bb_file_explorer.Media I assume that's the internal name, not the display name, anyone knows how to rename it?? I don't want to mess with the OS by downgrading or things like that, I'm quite happy with how the phone works as it is...
I have Verizon Wireless 8530 Cruve, I am running Windows 7. When I open the desktop manager and plug in my phone the computer shows it but not desktop manager. I have uninstalled desktop manager and reinstalled it, I have also rebooted the computer still nothing. I plug my husbands pearl in and it connects just fine.
I just installed Blackberry Desktop Manager to my Mac. It looked like it synched up the phone to the manager just fine. I selected the two-way option for my Contacts. But I can't seem to find any support or help as to how I can view the synched up/backed up contacts. Can anyone offer support with this?
Been updating the OS on my 8530 using the pc Desktop Manager software v5.0.1 and the usb connector to the phone. I started at 11:00am this morning. It is now almost 3:00pm.It is still showing 346 of the 528 modules in the Download device Software part of the process. At this point it's a fail... But it says Do not disconnect your device... or else. What now? Very disappointing.
Since updating my OS the audio files that i often transfer to my curve will crash the phone except for the very bottom file on the "all songs" menu inside the BB music player. It is the strangest thing, and very problematic. I have loaded random music files on and switched priority and it is always the last file on the list that works and everything else above will cause the crash. To help clarify some info. The music files are from an itunes playlist and they are all spoken word that range from 5-7hrs each and i have from 2-4 of them at a time. BB desktop manager is the method of syncing and the method of updating the OS as well.
I just recently got a blackberry. I was wondering which desktop manager is best for the curve 8530 through sprint. because i see i can download older versions too. just wondering any input would be greatly appreciate.
I have tried and tried, but can't get Media Sync to find my BB Curve.
Desktop Manager can find my BB - and it says it's working & connected, but when I launch Media Sync, after 3 mins of searching, it says "Please connect a BB device".
I have tried without launching DTM - i.e. launching Media Sync on its own. I have tried all variations of restarts, of both BB and laptop AND removing the battery at all sorts of stages in the process. No joy.
I don't see a drive on Windows Explorer with my BB however. I'm running Windows Vista, SP1.
1. Device model number: 8520 2. carrier or mobile provider: Virgin Mobile 3. OS release v 5.0.0.592
Extra history: 1) I downloaded Desktop Manager from the CD and then updated it automatically. 2) I then followed some detailed instructions from this forum elsewhere and totally removed every trace of it (including regedit entries). 3) I downloaded a clean copy of the latest DTM from BB website 4) I then updated the Curve OS software - now on version 5.01 (and yes, like everyone I prefered the old style of key locking!) 5) I also replaced the USB cable since that seemed to provoke a constant cycle of reboots on my BB - this was an earlier problem that a different cable fixed, but that's another story!
I have repeatedly downloaded media sync, and I cannot transfer pictures off of my girlfriend's 8530 curve? Anyone else experience this? If so, how did you get around it?Since all the documentation is for the PC, I'm thinking RIM is trying to pull a fast one on Mac users.
My Curve 8520 was delivered 7 days ago from Virgin Media UK. I am unable to create a Blackberry account as "my device is not registered with my wireless service provider" . I have gone through the Host Routing table regsiter but still nothing. Virgin's call centre do not allow you to access their Virgin Blackberry help team directly, and in fact claim they can only email them themselves. The call centre say the Blackberries are very popular and I will have to wait 3 days for the Virgin Blackberry team to contact me. I obviously would like to get my 8520 up and running. Do I have to wait for Virgin? Should I draw the conclusion that Virgin are all marketing mouth and no Blackberry trousers?
I dont understand why my blackberry is not compatible with the app world iv updated it to the latest software using desktop manager and nothing works also blackberry messenger doesn't work aswell can anyone help me out?
I have a Blackberry 8330 (CDMA) v4.50.191 (Plaform 3.4.0.62).The Blackberry desktop manager is v4.5The Media Manager doesn't work.when I click on the icon for it, the window gets a grayish tint -- like it's going to do something -- but then it returns to normal and nothing happens.I am trying to download photos I took with my Blackberry camera to my computer.
Carrier: Verizon Blackberry Curve 8330 Recently I upgraded my Desktop Manager to Version 6.0.0.40 and now I can't transfer media files to my Curve 8330.One thing I tried was to update my device OS to 4.5.0.175, this did not work. The DM shows that Media Options are not available, that I have to trun on mass storage mode from the device.Under the options menu on my 8330, I open Media Card and sure enough Media Card Support is On, Mass Storage Support is On, and Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode is On (I've tried when I switch to Prompt, but that did not work either).I've removed the media card, reinserted it, reformatted it, made sure it was recognized by my device (it is), so obviously the problem is with the Desktop Manager. With previous versions, I had no problems with Media Sync, only with the new DM version. The DM will recognize my device when plugged in via USB and I can sync my Organizer with no issues. What else can I try to get my DM - Media Sync to work with my 8330?
I just got my Blackberry and I am having trouble with the Mass Storage. The Media Sync will not recognize the memory card at all. Win 7 does not recognize the card when I first plugged in my phone by USB cable the install driver fails. This failing has happened on 3 computer 2 win 7 and one XP.
I have done the normal things like battery pulls and deleting the driver and letting it reinstall reboots and reinstall programs. I also have the most current programs off the website.I also have tried putting the SD card in the slot on my laptop (3 different cards in an adapter) and none are able to transfer files without lagging into never never land.Everything else seems to work just fine. But I would like to be able to transfer photos and music and at this rate I can't transfer them at all.
Since upgrading to Version 5.0.1 neither the media manger nor blackberry media synch now work. the media manager always prompts to install and downloads but then does nothing. The blackberry media sync gets so far after launch the gives an error message. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a number of times but cannot get the media manager to install so cannot now get any media off my phone or on to it. Any ideas anyone?
when i am on Internet i can no longer view media files?? not sure why , it was working before? not sure if i changed a setting or what? it says" an error has occurred attempting to play media.
I have a Curve 8530. I want to copy or save picture attachments that I receive via email into the "pictures" section of the "media" folder. Is that possible? How?
I have several dozen pictures that were added to my new Curve 8530 from my old phone before I had an sd memory media card, so they're sitting in the internal device memory. How do I transfer them to the media card, and can I "select all" to move them all at once or do I have to go picture by picture?
Also, I use Desktop Manager for Mac. Is there any way I can move them around through my Mac Finder? Would I have to disable Mass Storage? In what situations would one enable or disable Mass Storage and MTP? (OK, that's probably a second topic; but I haven't found a good explanation of what it is.)
I am using BB 8520 Curve with the default external memory (2 Gb). I have music files (*.mp3, *.wma) as well as picture files (captured through the device itself). What happens is, from time to time I am unable to access the media card content. If I go to music, I can see the entries if I go to any of the menu filters, All Songs/Artists/Albums/Genres .. etc. But when I click on the song itself, the music player opens with a message "This playlist contains no valid songs". Also, during this time, my device rings with the default tunes on a call, even if I have set custom profile ring tones.Similarly, if I go to Media->Pictures, I can see a thumbnail preview of the photos, however on trying to open a file it just presents me with a black screen. The contact picture or the desktop custom wallpaper, however is rendered as expected. If I reboot my device by taking off the battery, things get working again.I am experiencing this issue quite frequently, almost every day. I tried to find out a trend for the behaviour, however could not make any such consistent observations.Does anyone in the forum has faced similar issue? Any inputs would be highly appreciated. This is really being a disturbing trait with my otherwise so cool BB.
i have windows vista and I uninstalled and re-installed desktop manager 5.0. i clicked on install media manager and when i restart the computer, the desktop manager no longer opens up. do in need to install an older version then upgrade?
It's the one from Desktop Manager. I installed it but once I opened it, I'm pretty sure I'm never going to use it. Can I get rid of it? When it was downloading, it said the size of it was 133 MB, so if I can delete it, I would like to.
When I start the Desktop Manager and connect my phone everything works fine. I then try to launch Media Manager and the Device connected (PIN) : Blackberry 9550 (310C647) goes grey and the software says " There is no device connected. Please connect your device in order to view its contents."
I've been using this phone for over a year. It has always been hit or miss when I try to connect using media manager anso I can load music files. The straight USB connection s very reliable so I know the cable and card are fine. Any suggestions on why media manager cannot see my phone?
I installed the Desktop Manager 5.0.1 off the CD that came with my new Blackberry Bold 9700, after first using Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs to remove the Desktop Manager 4.6 that I had previously installed with my old device. After installation, upon starting up Desktop Manager 5.0.1, the message "Before you begin, verify that your current Blackberry device is connected to your computer" appeared. Upon connecting my device to the computer, DTM 5.0.1 immediately crashed, with the message "Blackberry Desktop Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close."I tried a clean uninstall (KB02206) and then a reinstall, with the same results. The file Desktop_ ERRORLOG.TXT at C:Program FilesResearch In MotionBlackberry reads : Desktop Mgr caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005)
So I installed the new OS for the 9700 (5.0.0.862 - Vodafone) and my desktop manager isn't letting me add new media files or anything like that. It keeps telling me that I have to turn on Mass Storage Mode for this to work. I have desktop manager 6.
My phone is an unlocked AT&T Bold 9700 and my service provider is Fido (Canada). How do I fix this guys? I'm relatively new to this whole blackberry stuff.
I just got a new curve 8320 and I've installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager v 5.0.1.18
It connects to my BB fine via usb cable but in Add/Remove Applications, it comes up blank with the message "No software is available for your device".
Also, when I try to install the Media Manager, it gets stuck at "downloaded 59.7MB out of (unknown)" and then the loading box just disappears. I've tried just reclicking the Install button and the same things happens.
I've tried to look online for the Media Manager file to download separately but nothing came up.
have had my Pearl Flip for less than 6 months. The Desktop Manager & Media Sync have NEVER worked completely, even ater many, many uninstalls and re-installs. BB Pearl 8220 Flip EDGE Wi-Fi v 4.6.0.222 (Platform 4.1.0.80)
When I connect my Droid 3 to my computer via usb it automatically opens a tab in my internet browser to Verizon's V Cast Media Manager. How do I turn this off?
