So I installed the new OS for the 9700 (5.0.0.862 - Vodafone) and my desktop manager isn't letting me add new media files or anything like that. It keeps telling me that I have to turn on Mass Storage Mode for this to work. I have desktop manager 6.
My phone is an unlocked AT&T Bold 9700 and my service provider is Fido (Canada).How do I fix this guys? I'm relatively new to this whole blackberry stuff.
Amazing feature...now..not only can you backup your contacts as a BB file but you can save them on your PC as normal contacts which have full details (email, numbers, etc.)

Since upgrading to Version 5.0.1 neither the media manger nor blackberry media synch now work. the media manager always prompts to install and downloads but then does nothing. The blackberry media sync gets so far after launch the gives an error message. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a number of times but cannot get the media manager to install so cannot now get any media off my phone or on to it. Any ideas anyone?

I am having difficulty syncing my device to my computer.
I am running Vista 32 bit on a Dell Inspiron 1525.
I have downloaded Desktop Manager 5.0.1 B49 MultiLanguage - Without Media Manager successfully and downloaded the latest version (I have seen elsewhere that this version is suggested for the bold 9700).
My computer recognizes the device but from the Found New Hardware prompt as a RIM Composite Device but In the desktop manager it says that there is no device plugged in.
I have also turned on media card support and mass storeage mode.
I cannot find the appropriate driver through the device manager either.
I did a couple battery pulls and connection re-tries in different usb ports.
When i run the desktop manager setup file, the installation process begins, and shows me a dialogue box that says 'pending .net framework' and i hit install to let it start. It goes through a couple of dialogue boxes and after like 5 mins, an error appears saying 'this requires that .net 3.5 sp1 shouild be installed' and i hit finish and it is exited.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry 9700 phone which has been working fine up until today when I decided to load the "Blackberry User Tools" software onto my P.C. at home. After successful installation and machine restart, I was asked to enter my "Device Password". Assuming this would be my password I set originally to lock my phone I entered it and found this didn't work. I subsequently attempted a number of other logical permutations but then realised that if I continued I would lock my phone. So I stopped (at 8/10 tries) and called my service provider "Orange UK" who advised they couldn't help me and that if I continued to enter the incorrect code, it would wipe my phone as it would automatically reset!When I connected via USB last time, it asked for me to enter the word "blackberry" which I did but when it then asked me to enter my password (which I assumed was the four digit numerical code I had originally set the phone with) it failed to work. I am now left with two further attempts. Please can anyone assist by advising me what I can do to overcome the problem without wiping my phone as the contents are very important to me.

View 8 Replies View RelatedAbout 3 weeks ago I had to switch from a Curve to the 9700. I used the switch device wizard to do this with no problems on my home laptop. Since then I have backed up the 9700 to my laptop but when I went to do this today, the device is not recognized by my laptop. I have tried just about everything with no luck. I thought the issue may be my cable and/or USB port but I actually connected my old Curve to the laptop and it immediately was recognized. I also have been synching the 9700 on my work PC and drove into the office today to see if I could do so..it worked without any problems. I am therefore not sure by the 9700 won't now connect to my laptop. Any ideas from anyone as to what I should be doing or what the problem is? I uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop manager application twice thinking that may be the problem but it has not resolved the issue. As an aside, I have gotten a message appearing on the 9700 saying that the USB connection does not have sufficient power to charge the device. I then acknowledge the message and it shows it is charging so I am not sure what that is...

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to sync my Yahoo calendar with my Blackberry Bold 9700 via the Blackberry Desktop Manager (version 5.0.1) and am getting the error message "Connection to Yahoo server was lost" when the calendar sync is occurring. The only option on the screen is to press "OK". Once "OK" is pressed, the Blackberry Desktop Manager returns to the synchronization screen. The address book syncs successfully, but the calendar does not. I have tried syncing one way and both ways without success.
A few notes about the environment: I am using the newer version of Yahoo Calendar which I have seen recommended on other postings. I am using standard Yahoo not the small biz version. I have seen this recommended, too.I am connecting my Blackberry Bold 9700 to my laptop via the USB cable that is supplied by Blackberry.

The process starts, but it never passes the address book part (it freezes and eventually crashes). I contacted Yahoo and they referred me to their Yahoo Intellisync. Which they don't support. I would switch to Google, but I recently changed my e-mail account; doing so one more time would be bad for business.

View 4 Replies View RelatedUnit: Bold 9700. I run an HP P8600 Windows XP_SP3. All syncs including Media have worked fine...until now. Media Sync has instead, sunk. Have so far done this: Removed and reloaded DM. Removed and reloaded Media Sync (2x). Tried numerous usb ports and swapping usb cables (both original bb). Cleared check boxes from Power Management from usb root hub thingies, many Windows restarts, many battery pulls, ran calfix.exe. Media card is fine and mass storage is turned on. When BB connects, should it appear as a removable drive in My Computer? This is not happening. Problem is only with Media Sync.

Recently I upgraded my Desktop Manager to Version 6.0.0.40 and now I can't transfer media files to my Curve 8330.One thing I tried was to update my device OS to 4.5.0.175, this did not work.The DM shows that Media Options are not available,that I have to trun on mass storage mode from the device.Under the options menu on my 8330, I open Media Card and sure enough Media Card Support is On, Mass Storage Support is On, and Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode is On (I've tried when I switch to Prompt, but that did not work either).I've removed the media card, reinserted it, reformatted it, made sure it was recognized by my device (it is), so obviously the problem is with the Desktop Manager. With previous versions, I had no problems with Media Sync, only with the new DM version. The DM will recognize my device when plugged in via USB and I can sync my Organizer with no issues.What else can I try to get my DM - Media Sync to work with my 8330?
I just got a new curve 8320 and I've installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager v 5.0.1.18
It connects to my BB fine via usb cable but in Add/Remove Applications, it comes up blank with the message "No software is available for your device".
Also, when I try to install the Media Manager, it gets stuck at "downloaded 59.7MB out of (unknown)" and then the loading box just disappears. I've tried just reclicking the Install button and the same things happens.
I've tried to look online for the Media Manager file to download separately but nothing came up.
have had my Pearl Flip for less than 6 months. The Desktop Manager & Media Sync have NEVER worked completely, even ater many, many uninstalls and re-installs.

I'm trying to sync music and pictures to my 9700. On the left hand side of the desktop manager under the "Media" heading I have section for music but nothing else. How would I add the pictures section where I choose which folders I want to sync?
