So I checked the box to hide files on my media card but it seems that I can't get them back - I am using 5.0.0.423 and the "explore" option is not present when I click the menu button under "media". Any other ideas?
View 6 RepliesI have the latest bb Bold, and when I go into my media, explore, then click on show hidden files, I can see my hidden files but the problem is, my phone refuses to let me unhide them.

Yesterday I had some of my files hidden on my phone that I could not access. The files that I want went to the media card when hidden. I've searched google and tried some suggestions, but I still can't find them. First, is there a way to get to the media card directory? People say to go to explore, but I don't have this on my device i even went on my stock theme from att it takes u too explore but it still don't show my hidden pics what gives.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAll my media files on the memory card are hidden. When i select any of the options in Media menu, I can only access the item that have been saved onto phone memory. All the files/folders that where on the memory card have dissapereard.
When i am in Explore mode and select the Show Hidden option, I can see all my previous files/folders. All the folders on the mem card have been hidden, and thus my device cant access the files.
How do i change this attribute permanatley, restore it to what it was.

Anyway, I have a 2gb card installed but under the settings and memory section it says no card found. is there a way of getting it to reconise the card as my phone says its only got 90MB of internal memorey left which wont do me as I use it as a mp3 player as well.

At first I thought they got deleted and was really upset but upon exploration I have found them. When I go into the media file and go to explore it brings up my device memory then I go to home where there is nothing but I can hide the user folder but when I go into the properties of the user folder I can not unhide it because the hidden button is greyed out. Does anyone know how to change this or fix this? I would really like to have it back to normal! Again I don't have a memory card it is just the user file on the device memory that will not unhide

I recently bought my girlfriend a 8520 Curve. Not even a week later she told me that she had uploaded 40 songs onto it and only 6 where showing when she went to her music player. I couldn't find anything on the actual phone, so plugged it into my computer. There I found that the BlackBerry folder on the media card was hidden. I tried going properties unhide, which work on all the other folders, but it didn't work.

When I try a soft reset, I get the red indicator light as usual, but instead of resetting, I get a message on my screen that says something along the lines of "Media card installed. All media will be copied onto the device." After this dialog box goes away, the device does NOT reset. Any ideas on why the soft reset no longer works?

View 4 Replies View RelatedUp until last week I was able to merrily sync my songs onto my Storm's memory card using Windows Media Player, then all of a sudden all the songs on the memory card disappeared from the Storm's media player and I could only see the songs on the phones onboard memory. However, you can see and play the files by exploring through the file system on the Storm and choosing the "show hidden" option in the folders. As these files cant be viewed through the Storm's media player, the media experience becomes very poor. Now, I noticed that if I sync the songs to the Storm using Windows Media Player AND choosing NOT to create a file hierarchy on the Storm's memory card, the songs appear correctly in the Storm's media player, with the disadvantage that the memory card becomes a bit cluttered because tracks arent sorted into folders as I have chosen not to use a file hierarchy when syncing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have taken many pictures that are on my media card. I was on Facebook and looking at a friend's pictures. It was taking too long to download the picture, so I hit the return key to exit out of Facebook. When I went into my pictures to view the ones I had taken, there were no pictures there and I got the message "A Media Card has been inserted that is not formatted. Do you wish to format the Media Card now?"
Of course nothing happens if I hit "No".
If I select "Yes" it says "Warning: Formatting the Media Card will destroy any data stored on it. Do you wish to continue?" Of course I don't want to continue. I just want my pictures and videos back!!!!I have tried turning the phone off and taking the battery out.I have inserted a different media card and it can find the pictures on that card. I have inserted my media card into a friends similar BBerry and I get the same message about the card not being formatted.
Questions:
1) Is there ANY way to get my pictures back?I believe I downloaded most of them through the Desktop Manager, but I am not sure..
2) Any idea why this happened so I know how to avoid it happening again in the future???
I just bought a Bold 9700 from a friend with no media card. Ive tryed 2 different ones and it want show theres a card in the device ive tryed a sandisk 4g and a 8g not sure the brand on the 8g got it from a bud to try but the 4g i bought new and still no luck it just says no media card inserted.
