after 1 month of this phone, I have had it, and want to sell it (probably ebay) and need to know how to clear all info off of it, and return to original new settings. Also, how do you clear the phone w/ blackberry so someone else can register it?
View 3 RepliesA friend gave me their old Blackberry but it was used for his work email and was set up with a password just to access the phone. He doesn't remember the password. I put a new sim card in, but is still asking for the password. We tried 4 different ones. On the 5th it warns you that your program will be deleted. We haven't tried the 5th password. It we do will it erase information in the sim card?
Is there a way to clear everything out of memory and reset the Blackberry to it original defalut settings.I tried pulling out the battery with the phone on, but that doesn't do any good.
People can call me and it also vibrates and stuff when i receive messages but the only thing i can do is use the voice activation button on the side nothing else works and the screen stays blank. I've been trying to turn it off and on using the power button and even tried removing the battery but nothing seems to be working. Anyone have any ideas on if and how this problem can be fixed?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy Curve has developed a camera issue.It worked fine within the last 2-3 months (but I havent used it for a while) and has been working up to that point with no issues.When I go to take a picture, I can see the image, but it has a red, "negative" type tint to it.Also, it appears that the "low light" function of brightening the image up does not engage or work.When I take the picture, the flash will flash, but the image displayed on the screen at that time displays a solid white (blank) screen. I can not take another picture from there. it seems like the app might be locked up.The only thing I can do at that point is to press the red cancel button which brings me back to my home screen.The picture is not saved. I can then take another picture, but the same thing happens.The video camera works, but has the same "red tinted", negative type of image on it.It will record, and playback but the image appears as it is ciewed in the viewfinder. With the red tint/negative type of image. Sound is fine. I can also view previously recorded picture and videos with prefect clarity.The pone works properly in all other aspects and the only issue I have ever had with it has been a battery. I replaced thre battery two weeks ago because it would go dead quickly. The new battery works well.I have done a full battery pull. No change to the camera issue.Any thoughts?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a 8350i through Nextel. A couple of weeks ago my BB shut itself off and then turned itself back on. I did not think much of it until it started happening very frequently. When I say frequently, I mean every 10 minutes. Quite frustrating for a phone that I use for work. I took it to a local service department but they did not know what was going on so they just swiped the software and reloaded it. This resolved the issue for about 24 hours and then it has started again. It was sporadic again with about a day between each one but it has since become a very frequent issue again. It is happening about 5 times a day that I know of.I am currently running Version 4.6.1.313.

View 3 Replies View Relatedsecurity wipe (not done on purpose ) deleted all my contacts but nothing else . Is there any way by any means to get them back ? No sink backup was mad prior to this and just now have a computer to use to do this or anything else . the security wipe had something to do with spelling blackberry and entering a password . The reason was to delete a certificate but once I enetered the password the screen went white ----a progress bar appeared and when it was done and rebooted all my contacts were gone and the cert was still there.

I've come to dread restarting my phone (after deleting an app, to free up space). Every time I pull the battery, it's like playing russian roulette with my phone. When it restarts, it goes back to that original wallpaper that my bb bold2 had, and then the trackpad won't work. Even if I click down once to activate the trackpad, nothing moves on my screen. It almost always ends with me having to do a second battery pull, which is really nerve-wracking. It's like there's some sort of SEVERE lag going on. And if it does begin to work after a battery pull, it takes like 6 minutes to begin working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, I'm pretty sure my phone is fried - thanks to the wireless software update that my phone told me to download yesterday from Blackberry.Little update icon pops up on the screen telling me that there's a software upgrade of high importance so I tell it to download over the air. About half an hour later, my phone starts flashing and comes up with a quick screen that says "rolling back java" with a status bar that stays at 99% and then power cycles and does the same thing. I had to take the battery out - it's power cycling every minute at least. It won't do anything else, and my blackberry desktop software doesn't recognize it. I left the battery out overnight so the power cycling didn't drain the battery and as soon as I put the battery back in, it just goes back to its little java msg and power cycling.Any ideas? I will be taking it in to Telus later today. I'm assuming that it will have to be sent away and re-flashed and I will have lost everything on it.

When i take the battery out it has a white screen with a box, like the one that shows when its loading and then eventually it turns back to the blank white screen.Then only way i can get the phone to turn back on is by plugging it in the charger. When everything was transfered from our old bb i lost all of the games that were on mine but all of his transfered. Is there a way for me to copy the games using either the desktop manager or Bluetooth? The BoxWave holster I just bought has a magnet - I can insert the phone either face-in or face-out. But I would like to keep the phone from going into standby mode when inserted face-out so I can simply use the phone while it is in the holster (without having to remove it first). As it is, I can't even answer the phone without taking it out of the holster.

It shows up in the top right hand corner of the screen and looks like the service signal bar graph only reversed w/ the larger bars on the left and getting smaller moving right. View 6 Replies View RelatedI got a BB 8310 from my girlfriend. While tryin to update to simply sync my music to the phone, i decided to update the phone's software which has turned into a disaster! While updating, during the screen where it says "DO NOT UNPLUG", the faulty USB cable came out leaving the phone unfinished. Now all the phone does is blink with a red light. It does NOT come on at all. The screen remains black. When its plugged in to the computer now, it doesn't read its a BlackBerry. It says "USB device not recognized".
Now I know that during the installation the phone's system files where probably deleted. And not replaced. So what now? Is there something I can do to have the phone recognized by my computer? It was backed-up before the new installations took place, but does not help because the computer is not recognizing the phone. HELP PLEASE! I would hate to lose my new BlackBerry before I actually get to enjoy it.
Every so often, I check Outlook and notice e-mails that were never received on my Blackberry.Here's what I know:
1) the problem only rarely occurs, so I can't recreate it for others to see
3) a user can send me dozens of e-mails without a problem, then inexplicably one will go missing (so it isn't a single user issue)
4) carrier is Verizon they claim it is Yahoo's issue, because no other e-mails are effected (I use Yahoo Small Business e-mail)
5) Yahoo claims it is not their issue since e-mails are being received in Outlook
6) Outlook is configured to leave all of my messages on the server (it is a pop3 account if that matters)
7) The e-mails are not being received into Spam or any other folder
Here's what I've done (in no particular order):
1) hard reset
2) resent service books
3) added and deleted my e-mail account
4) checked all of my settings
5) re-registered with Verizon
6) threw a tantrum
7) screamed wildly at my co-workers for no reason
8) drank a few beers
9) broke up with my girlfriend
10) took a nap
I was having trouble accessing most websites (although I could get email via the university system where I work), so I tried the wireless upgrade/update that was suggested. After I did that, I lost everything - phone, text, and Internet. My calendar is wiped out, as is my contacts. When I try to "turn on" mobile services, it does not turn on. Verizon is not even listed as my service provider. It is as if it cannot find a service provider and therefore, will not make a connection.

SMS, MMS, Blackberry messenger all work fine. My email account works fine if I log in through the browser. My wife has the same phone and also has a hotmail email account and hasn't had any problems.Any ideas on how to fix this?
