So my blackberry bold is locked and the keyboard won't respond. I've tried removing the battery but when it reboots the keyboard locks up or the screen just goes black. No water damaged has occurred.

I can't delete/press enter/anything.I have a new 9900 that I'd like to transfer the 9700's contents to. The trouble is, I can't enter the 9700's password (which I know) to unlock the 9700-with-dead-keyboard. Also - hte content is encrypted.Is there any way around this? Can I somehow enter the password via bbsak or mcp or something? Or some other tool?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI picked up an 8330 secondhand recently and it worked fine for about 3 weeks when quite suddenly the keyboard stopped resonding. I can't even turn on the screen unless I plug the phone into a charger and then unplug it. In this state the trackball will scroll through menus, but pressing it does nothing, and the rest of the keyboard is also unresponsive.
Anyway, I want to wipe it and reinstall the OS to see if maybe that helps. I've backed everythign up through destop software but I don't see any like 'Format device' 'wipe device' type of option.
I have a problem with my E72, When I try to use the "," "." "?" "!" or " ' " symbols it doesn't respond, i use the coma and dot by pressing the ? and ! buttons for example, my whole symbol section doesn't respond to what the keys seem to order.

Can't get any of the keys to respond, unless I hold down either of the following four keys - P/@; del; enter; num lock (all on right side of keyboard). Everything else works fine, but I have to hold down one of those four keys to get the phone to do anything.

Some of the keys such as the "S" and "H" keys, including the "del" key are not working. My numlock is not on and this is my only phone. Is it possible I accidentally changed a setting? Before that I did not perform the upgrade for about a year.Since this last upgrade I have a problem with clock not being updated when the keyboard is locked. This only happens when the keyboard is locked automatically (because of the inactivity). If I lock it manually then the clock is normally updated.This is so frustrating that I will change the phone for sure if it's not solved very quickly with a new software update. The clock is one of the core features of the mobile phone and such a bug can get you in troubles very quickly.

I have gone through password reset process but still blocking me with the message: Your account has been locked. Please try again after the lockout period has expired or call customer service.Any suggestions other than a call to technical desk. I've been researching forums and seems to be the case that lock is indefinite. Incidentally, I didn't see the option after 10 tries to enter word 'blackberry' but it was late at night and frustration had kicked in. Possibly I missed that.

Whenever I get to the setup Internet Mail Account menu, it just would not respond or go any further. Only Enterprise Account menu would response which I am not interested in.

View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since I first got the 9900 is had some weird issues. The trackpad would occassionally stop working and only the press button function would respond. I i navigate to the settings the trackpad option now reports trackball, but this is not always the case.Now I'm getting the trackpad failing more often than ever, and also the phone also goes into a very slow unresponsive mode, it now takes me a few hours of repeatedly pulling the battery until it boots back into a functioning phone. if the battery pull fails it can take between 2-10mins to boot. If its works then it take <2mins. But the success rate is not worse every time the phone fails.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had my 9700. I just noticed today that the sliver pieces that separate each row of keys are fragile. I have one piece that is totally broken on both sides under the Talk and End button, another broken one under the Q and the lower left one below the Z key. On all of them but bottom one, they were originally hard to see. Not sure how I found them but upon closer inspection, more and more were broken. The bottom one actually sticks up some.
My only concern is that they are going to get worse and totally break off and then free for all on dust and dirt in actual keyboard. These silver strips look real cheap. Anyone else have broken ones in their keyboard? How have you solved the issue? Can they easliy replace just the keyboard at the tech center? I have seen OEM keyboards for sale too but not sure I want to try that myself. I am going to call At&t but not sure if they will do a warranty swap for this. My wife has the same phone and hers are all fine and intact. I think parts of this phone were made on a budget. Bad design with the keyboard.
When I go to reset the password, it says it sent an email and I never get one. So I'm still locked out.

Aparently, I could not log into the phone, and so the phone is locked with an unknown id and password. So, the only thing the phone could do is to format all the bbm contacts etc, while I really need all the contacts.

Apparently the guy who had it, had it locked to a BES and now I cannot disable my password protection settings. View 2 Replies View RelatedOn a number of occasions where my battery was nearly flat as I put it on the charger before I went to bed I woke up in the morning to find that the device wouldn't turn on. A battery pull sorted it every time. Last night I put my Blackberry on charge and woke up this morning to find that not even the battery pull would work. When I hooked it up to my laptop, the desktop software recognised that it couldn't communicate with Blackberry and offered to update the software (which in fact I did a couple of weeks ago). I read a KB article that said one should do this without the battery installed. Alas during the software update where it gets to the point 'reconnecting to jvm', I have to re-insert the battery as the 'no battery' icon appears on the screen. We then get stuck in the original cycle whereby the device gets stuck in a cycle of light on, light off... and of course a failed software update too.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOf the three blackberrys i have owned and used (9000, 9700 and 9800) i have to say i think the 9000's keyboard is by far the best of them all. I am on the 9700 right now and really miss my 9000's keyboard. It felt so much more roomy and comfortable to type on. I wish they would make a larger phone like the 9000 again. IMO it had the best keyboard, best sounding speakerphone and of course that nice large screen.
