i've been noticing some problems with my controls on my keyboard. In fact, I was not able to use the red button, de back button, the q,a,w,s and z buttons either. I decided so to restore my blackberry. But, when I was restoring it, my sister unplugged it and since then, I am not able to do anything with it. It loads (where it's written blackberry with a loading bar) and right after, there is a white screen with error 200 on it. Now, when I replug it into my computer, it says : Blackberry desktop software can't communicate with the phone connected. There is no way I can restore it again or do anything.
I updated the software last week. Syncs with Outlook worked for a few days, now I get this error message. Then "checking for BlackBerry device software updates, please wait" and it hangs.
The newest software upgrade is giving me fits - in addition to losing some of my favorite apps (BrickBreaker, we hardly knew ye), every time I connect my device to the PC to synch, my device automatically reboots. This is time consuming and annoying.
About a 2 months ago when I would connect my blackberry storm (the first Storm) to my computer via the USB cord that came with the phone, I was able to transfer music from my computer (itunes) to the blackberry through Blackberry Media Sync with no problems (open Blackberry Media Sync, connect blackberry to computer via USB, and Media Sync screen would change so that I could sync music to the blackberry storm). I didn't even have trouble installing Blackberry Media Sync back in December 2009
But now after I connect my Blackberry Storm to my computer, the Blackberry Media Sync screen does not change and continues to display "Please connect a Blackberry Device". I have tried these tips that I found online: 1.) restarting my computer (windows vista) several times 2.) updating/reinstalling Blackberry Media Sync and then restarting my computer 3.) reconnecting blackberry to computer, then opening Media Sync 4.) opening Media Sync first and then connecting blackberry to computer. 5.) installing BlackBerry USB and Modem Drivers (even though I can't find the USB driver for it under Universal Serial Bus Controller when I check in the Device Manager when you go to Control Panel - System and Maintenance - Device Manager, but I did find RIM Virtual Series Port v2 COM4 & COM5 when you check "devices by connection" under View in Device Manager) Or are RIM Virtual Series Port v2 COM4 & COM5 the drivers I'm looking for ? 6.) Going to Options (on blackberry) - Memory and making sure Media Card Support, Media Transfer Protocol (MTO) and Mass Storage Mode Support are set to "On", Encryption Mode is set to "None", and Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected it set to "Prompt" though I have tried "Yes" as well. It says I have 785MB of free Device Memory space out of 879MB of total Device Memory and 7.1GB of free Media Card space out of a total of 7.3GB of Media Card space.
None of the above tips and troubleshooting advice has worked. I have also checked the Blackberry Technical Solution Center but I haven't found anything from there that has helped either. I have found online forums/discussions including issues of people having "blackberry media sync cannot connect to the device" pop-up, but I haven't had this pop-up. The Media Sync screen just stays the same as if I never connected the blackberry storm to my computer in the first place even though my blackberry storm is charging via the computer.
Is there something I'm missing or haven't done yet? What should I do?
My Torch 9800 has syced with the desktop and laptop with no problems since I got it in late 2010.A fe days ago the above message appeared and neither desktop nor laptop will synce. As far as I can see all software is up to date.
My BlackBerry Desktop Software suddenly interrupts to communicate with my BlackBerry 9800 device. I begin to receive a massage:"BlackBerry Desktop Software cannot communicate with theconnected device"The BB9800 isn't rebooting, has full-charged battery and I havethe latest Desktop Software, but "retry" option doesn't help.I have reinstalled the Desktop Software but it doesn't help as well.I can see both device's and media-card's folders and can work with them, but cannot use any other options of theBlackBerry Desktop Software.
I just bought a BB 8820 unlocked, it's made on Hungary and it shows on the screen a battery with a red line crossed, I know what the symbol means BUT the battery is OK, it's the right model C-X2 and I already tried it on a different phone and it's working fine. PLUS, the desktop manager cannot connect to the device, the application loader neater. I download the 4.2.2 device software and had the VENDOR file erased too, I start running the "loader" from C:Program FilesCommon FilesResearch In MotionAppLoader. and it loads the JVM and system software but when it is initializing the device I get the connection error and that's it. FROZEN AGAIN. The screen with the crossed battery is the only one I'm able to see.I try to replace the USB cable and the soft reset too with no results. What can I do, help me please!
I, stupidly, recently upgraded to the new DM v6 when prompted to do so.Since then, I have not been able to prevent emails arriving wirelessly when my BB is plugged into the software.I WANT THAT ABILITY BACK! Ok, I realise I may be weird in not wanting to have to deal with emails twice (desktop AND on my BB) but I have been happily using my BB for untethered email only. So, the question is: how do I stop my BB receiving emails while it is plugged into the DM? (I've not yet tried rolling back to the previous version of DM as that kinda offends my sense of progress.
I have a 9105 and recently downloaded Desktop Manager 6 onto my PC running XL. When running the older DM I was able to use the programme a few times then it stopped recognizing that my phone was connected. I have not managed to connect since upgrading. I have spent many hours in this and other forums trying every reasonable idea. I have removed the version 6 and loaded 5 again, removed 5 and clean installed 6. Checked all the different USB options and drivers. Changed USB cabels and connections. Removed the battery countless times but nothing will get it to connect. Windows and the device manager see the phone and I am able to remove/add files. I also upgraded my Documenyts To Go so that I can sync the docs on my desktop but this also fails to see my phone. Having read most KB's in this regard I am now not sure where to look.
I have downloaded the BB Desktop Manager.I plug in my Bold but the Desktop Manager does not "see" that there is a device plugged in.I've checked the cord, the USB ports. All are in working order. So I am unable to do synch my Outlook.
I have a Blackberry 9700 phone which has been working fine up until today when I decided to load the "Blackberry User Tools" software onto my P.C. at home. After successful installation and machine restart, I was asked to enter my "Device Password". Assuming this would be my password I set originally to lock my phone I entered it and found this didn't work. I subsequently attempted a number of other logical permutations but then realised that if I continued I would lock my phone. So I stopped (at 8/10 tries) and called my service provider "Orange UK" who advised they couldn't help me and that if I continued to enter the incorrect code, it would wipe my phone as it would automatically reset! When I connected via USB last time, it asked for me to enter the word "blackberry" which I did but when it then asked me to enter my password (which I assumed was the four digit numerical code I had originally set the phone with) it failed to work. I am now left with two further attempts. Please can anyone assist by advising me what I can do to overcome the problem without wiping my phone as the contents are very important to me.
About 3 weeks ago I had to switch from a Curve to the 9700. I used the switch device wizard to do this with no problems on my home laptop. Since then I have backed up the 9700 to my laptop but when I went to do this today, the device is not recognized by my laptop. I have tried just about everything with no luck. I thought the issue may be my cable and/or USB port but I actually connected my old Curve to the laptop and it immediately was recognized. I also have been synching the 9700 on my work PC and drove into the office today to see if I could do so..it worked without any problems. I am therefore not sure by the 9700 won't now connect to my laptop. Any ideas from anyone as to what I should be doing or what the problem is? I uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop manager application twice thinking that may be the problem but it has not resolved the issue. As an aside, I have gotten a message appearing on the 9700 saying that the USB connection does not have sufficient power to charge the device. I then acknowledge the message and it shows it is charging so I am not sure what that is...
I have had my phone for a year in August and I love it, but when I finally have time to work with and learn, it is asking for a DEVICE PASSWORD. Where do I find the password for my desktop manager?
trying to figure out what to do. Please direct me in the right direction.
I was running it for like 2 weks and it was fine, all I use it for is to backup my phone..But today I tried installing an app through the BB Desktop Software, whenever I click on the applications seciton, it just says reading device applications...loading.........and hangs there forever.....I am thinking of installing v5......
9780 started overheating. Display black but possible to read error 507 message. Desktop software does not recognize plugged in device. When battery is insert device still overheats. What to do?
I updated my Bold 9700 OS to 5.0.0.862 about 2 weeks ago. Everything was working fine up until Saturday, charging 1 minute then the next nothing, tried wall charger, car charger and also through the computer...nothing . This is the message the phone displays "The charging source connected to your Blackberry device cannot charge your battery."
The lightning icon is there but the battery level does not increase.I cant downgrade the OS since the computer doesnot recognize the device, I constantly get an error message. "Usb device has malfunctioned."
When I connect through USB port to recharge, I get a message on the blackberry that says something to the effect: "The device you are connected to is not capable of charging your battery." I am able to charge by connecting directly to the 115 V AC plug but not via computer.
I have a Blackberry bold 9650 V5.0.0.975 Running DM 6.0.0.43
Everytime the device backs up it goes all they through and at the end it gives the error message: "There was an error backing up. There could have been a problem with the device or connection during the backup. Verify that the device is turned on and connected."
Unit: Bold 9700. I run an HP P8600 Windows XP_SP3. All syncs including Media have worked fine...until now. Media Sync has instead, sunk. Have so far done this: Removed and reloaded DM. Removed and reloaded Media Sync (2x). Tried numerous usb ports and swapping usb cables (both original bb). Cleared check boxes from Power Management from usb root hub thingies, many Windows restarts, many battery pulls, ran calfix.exe. Media card is fine and mass storage is turned on. When BB connects, should it appear as a removable drive in My Computer? This is not happening. Problem is only with Media Sync.
I just got my Blackberry 9700 replacing my previous Palm 755. When I first used the Device Switch Wizard form the Blackberry Desktop Manager I was able to transfer all the data from my Palm Desktop to my Blackberry. I performed this for about four times as I modified my contact list. Now it aborts the transfer and receive a message saying:
"Desktop organizer data was not imported successfully. Errors occurred during the process"
I have since removed the Blackberry Desktop Manager software completely and reloaded - no result. I upgraded the Desktop Manager with automatic update - no result.
I just got this Blackberry on Dec 31, '09.I installed the DM software from the CD and now I was going to attempt to synchronize my phone with the desktop for the first time. When I plugged the phone in to the PC, it immediately said there were updates available and I just kept hitting Next until it apparently started the 12-step update process. Now my PC has been sitting at the download step (Step 3 of 12) downloading the same module for over 30 minutes now.
I've just recently downloaded the desktop software to my computer and am having some slight troubles. Everytime I put the device password in the computer, it rejects it and prompts me to try again and so on and so fourth.
I type in my password which I know to be correct, or I'd have been locked out of it a long time ago, and it just keeps popping up. I can't back up my device or anything with the PC. What gives? Is it looking for a different password?
