im currently ou of country with data service off while roaming.. and was using bbm and email vis wifi but after updating the device software the bbm and email are no longer connected to wifi while whatsapp and facebook and all other apps are working normally

View 10 Replies View Relatedi have a problem with my galaxy S5 ATT. so im using Netgear wireless n-150 router WNR 1000,its updated,but the problem was before the update and after the update it is the same. i'm using yahoo,gmail and comcast emails.i was able to setup yahoo email without any problems,i can send and receive emails from my phone when connected to wifi and without wifi. but i wasnt able to add to that stock email app my gmail account and comcast while i was connected to my wifi.it gave me error that it wasnt able to connect to the server to verify information.
So I tried to set it up on the mobile network and there was no problem. so now when i connected to wifi in my house i cant receive emails or send them using gmail and comcast email,yahoo account is working fine. i checked all the settings,i reset the router,still nothing.the funny part is if i download gmail app it is working without any problems.and if i connect to any other wireless router,all 3 emails work. also when i connect to my wifi, I'm getting internet and i'm able to open pages without any problems. So it should be some settings in the router probably ...
i have tried everything under the sun and the problem still exists.my problem: my bold 9780 is connecting to my wifi but won't use the connection when browsing the web.
i don't understand and it's quite annoying why it won't work as it did before. i've even spoken to orange and sky to try and solve this problem and still nothing.
whenever i browse the web on my blackberry via the browser through wif the pages never load. it's actually quicker to disconnect from wifi and use 3g then wifi. my blackberry was working fine before why has it stopped working. this has to be fixed as it's a pain!
i've tested other wifi spots and i have the same problem so i know it's not my router. i removed the security on my router but still no luck. i've done a master reset on my blackberry and still the wifi will not work. i've even had the handset replaced and still the wifi will not work!
the blackberry connects fine to the router and its shows as connected to the router but it just refuses to load pages when wifi is on. it gives me an error message:
"unable to find the requested server"when wifi is on and i try to browse the double headed arrow icon in the top right should be on when using the wifi, but it hardly appears at all when the pages attempt to load it should be on constantly when loading pages through wifi.
i can't even see Internet videos it keeps buffering the gives me the same error message as above.
Had this BB9700 for 2 weeks now, still struggling coz I can't connect to any WiFi. At home, even I turned the WiFi on it will only show white mark and the WiFi logo is still gray. When I try to scan for network to other areas it will ask for hotspot login. My friend can easily connect to her WiFi at home using the BB 9000

I got my Bold 9780 about 2 weeks ago and since then have been connected to Wi-Fi and have had no problem browsing the internet. Then earlier, all of a sudden, it stopped working. I am connected to my router with full signal strength and can't do anything in the browser. I just don't understand why it stopped working.. but I am still connected to Wi-Fi.

Works great with facebook, browser etc. But now, i go to my work place and insert the wifi password. It's says to me that it is connected but it still use the wap to connect the internet. (I don't have data plan). So I am charged for connecting with the browser. I go >manage connection>mobile network options> and try to turn off the date services. But when i do, i cannot connect neither with the wifi nor with the wap. I've connected to my home wifi, which i used to do with my old BB to use the BBM service, but for some reason my new BB won't connect to the internet even though it is connected to my wifi. My laptop is connected to the internet through the wifi and there doesn't seem to be any problems with conflicting IP addresses or anything like that so i don't know why my BB won't connect to the internet. Could it be that my BB wasn't registered while it was in the UK or anything like that? Or is there another reason?

We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something.When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can browse internet over WiFi while roaming with my data services set to "On" , "off while roaming" but I have been unable to access email. I was told that this is the way blackberries work - that you must turn on data while roaming and pay the charges if you want to access email. My old Curve didn't work that way so I find it hard to believe that my Bold 9900 does work that way. With my old Curve I simply had to connect to WiFi and voila my emails would come through without adjusting any other settings?

Currently I don't want to sign up for a Data plan. I want to use my Wifi connection in the office or at home in order to get my emails. Indeed, as a phone, it is not locked, and I can do all phone functionality. However the following functions are not available and I wonder how to fix it: When I try to set email accounts, it only lets me the option to set enterprise server based email accounts; it does not let me the option to set Internet based personal accounts as appear in the manual I am also unable to use the device over WIFI networks; I can register them, connect and set them, but the actual browsing over the connection is not possible.
