LG G3 :: Why Won't Email Push When Connected To WiFi
May 4, 2015
The stock email program will not sync new messages unless I open the app. This only occurs on wifi. Works great on cellular data. Have checked all of the settings I can think of.
i want to get the pearl 8120. i do not want to sunscribe to a data plan and would like to send and receive emails only through wifi. is this possible to do? if i get a data block on my sim will it still work with just wifi?
I know im gonna get the bb 9100 if it ever releases.... but heres my quandry(sp?)? Since this is the first bb with wifi, when i move my sim card from the 9000 to the 9100 is there any way to use bis (push) email on the phone via wifi and keep the 9100(will be BIS) for just playing/going out with?
im currently ou of country with data service off while roaming.. and was using bbm and email vis wifi but after updating the device software the bbm and email are no longer connected to wifi while whatsapp and facebook and all other apps are working normally
I am unable to send a email when connected to any WiFi. Have to discounnect from wi fi and then the message will send. On Bell in Canada and have set up correct SMTP settings as per bell.
I have an Iphone 4S and have added my home internet email account to the phone. I am able to send and receive emails while connected to my ATT netowrk but I am unavle to send and recieve emails while connected to a WiFi. How can I get my Iphone to send and receive emails while connected to a WiFi?
i have a problem with my galaxy S5 ATT. so im using Netgear wireless n-150 router WNR 1000,its updated, but the problem was before the update and after the update it is the same. i'm using yahoo, gmail and comcast emails.i was able to setup yahoo email without any problems,i can send and receive emails from my phone when connected to wifi and without wifi. but i wasnt able to add to that stock email app my gmail account and comcast while i was connected to my wifi.it gave me error that it wasnt able to connect to the server to verify information.
So I tried to set it up on the mobile network and there was no problem. so now when i connected to wifi in my house i cant receive emails or send them using gmail and comcast email, yahoo account is working fine. i checked all the settings,i reset the router, still nothing.the funny part is if i download gmail app it is working without any problems.and if i connect to any other wireless router, all 3 emails work. also when i connect to my wifi, I'm getting internet and i'm able to open pages without any problems. So it should be some settings in the router probably ...
I currently have a curve 9300, and my service provider is Telus Mobility. I am connected to wifi and up till about 3 days ago everything was working fine, now it shows I am connected, but I can only get on internet for about 5 mins, I have to shut off all my connections then reconnect them for it to work again.
My iPhone is on the Bell network, along with 3 other iPhones in my household. We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something. When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.
I have problem with email on my Motorola Razr. (not gmail, not corporate, just a email)I have setup email account and:-In Data push account is checked.-Sync over Wi-Fi only is unchecked-background data is checked- data Enabled is checked- No data saver checked.I can check my email manually it is work.- If I receive a new email up to 30(not sure) minutes after manually checking the push email is working fine i get it on my phone.- But if I receive a new email more than 30 minutes after manually check the push email does not work. I"m using pop3 service to my computer and my blackberry cell phone. About 2 days ago, my inmail24 pop3 service start trouble by sending same email to my blackberry cell phone as long I haven"t deleted those email via webmail. this is very annoying, i have to log in to webmail to delete all the inbox so it wont received again in my 9700. however as soon as new emails coming to my inbox, the problem arise again, it received again and again same email. my other email which i connected with push email, did not have any problem, received only once at any email and did not get any duplication received. Also my outlook at my computer is normal, receive all email only once, and did not get any duplication as my blackberry 9700 phones.
I have an LG G3 with the latest Android OS (5.0.1) and latest application updates as well. Verizon is my carrier. This problem started occurring after I updated to the latest OS, and it is quite strange.
There are a selection of apps that will NOT send me push notifications over WIFI. Say, when I leave for work, and my phone transfers to 4G LTE, my phone BLOWS UP with notifications from apps like Snapchat, Twitter, Google Hangouts, ESPN, MLB AT BAT, etc. It seems like Telegram, Texting, KIK, and Facebook Messenger are the only apps that properly send me notifications over Wifi. Here's what's even stranger: I have two Gmail accounts attached to my Gmail app. One account sends me push notifications over Wifi just fine, but the other will only send me push notifications over 4G LTE.
I recently went back to my old iPhone after much frustration with another smartphone product that I wont mention here. I updated the phone to 5.1.1 as reccomended by iTunes and started setting up mail etc and everything worked as expected. But then I noticed that push was not working whenever I have 2G/3G data enabled. If I have WiFi only enabled, push comes in fast and works great. If I have 2G/3G data only, or 2G/3G data + WiFi, I never receive push notifications, not even if I go into the individual apps first as some people suggest.
It just so happens that I work for a major Canadian Wireless carrier and I have access to some pretty cool tools that enable me to see packet data coming from the device going towards the internet. What I can see here is that the device does NOT initiate any connection to the nn-courier.push.apple.com servers on port 5223, ie. this is some kind of device issue. There isnt even a DNS request or anything to indicate the device is interested in making the connection at all. On my WiFi network, a DNS request and the connection to the push server is made immediately when WiFi comes up.
Is it possible for certain wifi networks to affect push notifications? For example, my notifications from USAToday come through on my home wifi network, but not on my work wifi network. However, the notifications came through on both networks just fine using my GS4.
I have aCurve 8330. ! have used Outlook Web Access (now App) to get e-mail from my job for more than a year. Last week I got a message that I needed to confirm my password. I was unable to get the system/phone to accept it so I deleted the e-mail address & attempted to set it up from scratch. I have spent 2 hours trying. My employer's IT dept spent an hour and my local cell carrier guru also tried for about an hour. We get a message that there is an error in the data submitted. I know my Web App info works 'cause I can sign on from several computers with no problem. I called tech help at Blackberry where the nice overseas guy told me "you can't use OWA, only normal e-mail addresses". (Since the set up screens still have the forms to do it, I assume he was wrong.) I have had 2 other e-mail addresses push to the phone for over a year which have no problem. (not going through OWA). We have deleted those 2 & reset with no problem. The problem seems to only be related to Web App.
I bought a LG G3 a few weeks ago and the same day I upgraded to Lollipop via factory reset before updating, then adding my accounts. I haven't had push email on any account since day one and I've read several threads in where it's claimed there's push email on Lollipop, or at least the gmail app. The lack of complaints about this tells me either it works properly for almost everyone, or it doesn't and few people care. I'd like proper push email, like I have on my Z10, but I can't seem to figure out where the problem lies. When I send myself test email the Z10 sounds off as my finger lifts off my mouse button, and then my desktop as soon as my Z10 goes quiet. Sometime in the next hour my G3 receives the same mail. It's the same result whether on WiFi or carrier connection.
Can connect to wifi with my i phone 4s (IOS 7.1.1). Cant even push the button for activating the wifi at the settings. is it possible that the new ios 7 does not match to i phone 4s ? what can i do ? (i have already rested my i phone)
I'm sure this has been asked before so I apologize ahead of time, but I was wondering if there was a way to make your email "push" faster. Right now it takes me sometimes at least 10 minutes to receive an email after it's sent, I was wondering if there's a way to make your email push like every 2 minutes instead of every 10.
Also sometimes when I send an email with my blackberry, the person I send it to receives it as a message with all symbols and not the message I sent. Is this a known problem, or is something wrong with my blackberry?
AFAIU Nokia Messaging may or may not be free depending on the operator, which can charge you for the service.
Pretty much like BlackBerry, albeit in that case all data go through their servers.
If all connections go through your provider's APN, how would Nokia know whether you're connected to Nokia Messaging or to some other server? All data exchange simply count towards your internet bundle, regardless if you use it for mail, internet browsing or whatever else you want to do, doesn't it?
It started happening yesterday, I have push email off but I keep getting new mail in the Inbox. Is it possible that if you have mail app in the multitasking bar it will keep checking for new mail?
I've set up gmail, iCloud and ms exchange account on outlook app on my Lumia 950. All emails have the option of push (get emails as they arrive) except foe iCloud. Same account had the push option on my old bb10 phone.
i am thinking of getting the above after 18 happy months with my Blackberry 8900.Can anyone tell me if i can get push email from a server? my friend has set up an email for my website (to be) and i would like my email from this website pushed to my phone. The BB does this with ease! Its a standard incoming POP and outgoing SMTP and i can set this up on Outlook.Dont mind if its an application to buy.
I have an iPhone 4S - my question is about PUSH mail Does iPhone support PUSH only with some email providers - if yes, where can i find a list with these email providers ?! The PUSH feature is provided by iPhone, or by the providers of email hosting ... to be more precise, iPhone can support PUSH as long as the email provider have this feature built-in ?!
I'm having real trouble trying to get any kind of push email on my Nokia E63. I'm in the UK and on firmware 410.21.010 with Nokia Email 9.06.16. According to the Nokia updating site this is the most recent firmware available for my serial number. The email setup just doesn't seem to work at all like the help docs here suggest. I get no option for 'Nokia Email Service' but I do get one for gmail. I can then setup my gmail box OK - but there is no setting for IMAP idle. It only allows me to set up a scheduled retrieval (at best every 5 minutes) and even then only downloads the headers so I have to manually download the message body. Does Nokia really not do push email at all?I've been using emoze as an alternative for a while - but stopped when I found that it was sending random email all by itself. And Mail for Exchange doesn't work with gmail for me - it just stops syncing after a while.
If I leave wifi on all day with wifi not connected, does it drain battery more searching? I know before I was told to turn off so it's not searching but I thought I saw it doesn't now?
