Jun 3, 2011On my older 8520 I could go into Settings and turn off date at night, so no emails or BBM or Facebook came thru. Just calls or texts. How do I set that on the Bold 9900?

View 1 Replies View RelatedGetting really angry with this phone now, 2nd or 3rd day without it turning on, what happened was it was running out of battery and I plugged it in thinking it was charging, not realising i've not actually turnt the socket on (typical manic mum moment) come back to it and it wasn't wokring, so now I decided to leave it over night on charge, nope... so went and brought a new charger thinking it might be a charger issue. still to no avail. Now its randomly varying between red led flashing with long pauses, sometimes it would start loading with the blackberry screen and loading bar then restart itself back to black screen and red led instead on going on to the main screen, other times its coming up with empty battery and red line through it... i've tried installing the blackberry desktop software to get it working that way, removed battery etc, held down the end call button, all the usual suspect moves.. and still nothing. I really need this phone to be working i've all my numbers, sons photos etc on there, really dont want to do a whole system reset..
View 1 Replies View RelatedHave had 9900 for nearly a week. Every time I switch off or use the auto off I cannot switch back on using the power key. I have to pull the battery and it reboots once replaced. The auto on function does not work either. I removed all my extra applications with no success. The battery life is very short. I can only get 12 hours when receiving 4 calls , making 2 calls and receiving 10 emails.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy 6 month old BB Bold 9900 battery was running low- set it to charge and this morning it will not start. Google and tried most of the options- red light flashes whn set to charge- sometimes even a green flashing light. Alarm rings continuously unless I remove battery.what rights do i have- this seems to be such a common problem with this faulty- should be a faulty recall!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a Blackberry bold 9900 which suffered an irrecoverable crash in December last year. Orange sent me a replacement. Last night, I went to get my phone and tried switching it on with the button at the top. It didn't come on. The phone would only reboot to 70%. I read on a forum to remove the battery and sim card and reinsert. The phone does not come on at all now. I've tried charging with/without battery, with/without sim card. I've tried everything on the internet. all my contacts are on the phone, I assumed this would be safe as it was supposed to do a regular back up. Is there a fix for the phone, if not, how do I access these backups that the phone was doing?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought a Verizon Bold 9900 and it's been working wonderfully well for the first 4 months. A few days ago I connected my phone to my laptop and did a sync on blackberry desktop manager. I think I might have also updated the software of the phone. But the basic intention was to backup my data (which hung half way). I woke up the next morning and my phone was switched off. Whatever I try, the phone only blinks red every few seconds but does not switch back on. I have tried using my friends bold 9900 battery but that didnt work either (so battery is not the problem). I am afraid this might be a software problem. Now I can't get this phone replaced from Verizon and need a fix because I really can't afford to purchase another phone like it!

It also doesnt respond to Desktop Software Manager.
I tried a couple of things from different forums, but with no joy. I read this is a well know issue to RIM,
I switched to new Bold 9900, need to switch my blackberry email address from old device to new 9900, No problem switching my non blackberry email address. It will not let me reload my previous blackberry address, wants to add a 1, 2, or a 3 to my name. I guess I need to ell the Blackberry server my new device.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a blackberry bold 9900 and the battery was very low so the next thing I noticed is that it switched off and when I tried to charge it it started to reboot but then it reached half way and stopped right there. Later I tired to remove the battery a reinsert it and then put it on the charger but no red light appeared and the phone would not charge or switch on at all...
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently the data on my 9700 will not switch from WiFi to cellular. If it's attached to a WiFi network, everything works fine. However when I leave that network and the BB needs to use EDGE/3G it does nothing. It will not even attempt to transmit or receive unless I do a battery pull. If I leave WiFi off, everything works fine. It is now running OS v6.0.0.668 by AT&T. I just updated to this OS in hopes that it would fix the issue, but no luck.

I suddenly lost all data pictures, videos and music files.Am able to take pictures and the camera captures as normal but then the pic is not saved strangely enough the total number reduces and no picture saved. Same happens for music files or videos downlaoded or received via either bluetooth or email.Another strange thing is I still have pictures attached to contacts and the ringtone for my profileOther than that everything works well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a replacement Bold 9900 when my previous one developed hardware issues. I transferred the SIM card to the new phone which is now operational. I also did a backup restore which retrieved my Contacts, WiFi and other data but not pictures and files. So, I tried to connect to my old device with a USB cable; this prompts me to sign-in which does not work I think because the SIM card is not there(?)
Is it possible that I connect to my old phone as a USB device when it does not have a SIM card?
Bb 9900 data services disappeared - who can help me fix that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to back up all my data before doing a security swipe (impossible to connect to BBID and this seems to be the only solution...) but Blackberry Protect isn't working online (it says my phone is busy and the back up cannot be completed).I've tried to back up via my software but none of my contacts, pics, calendars or tasks appear when I click on the logo. I cannot even update the phone's software as nothing seems to work... I cannot use my phone properly and there is no way to call IRM (O2 said they could not help, great...).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased new Bold 9900 and want to transfer contact list from old Curve 8900 to new phone using Bluetooth. The 8900 transfered all data, confirming the number of entries it transferred, but the 9900 only received the first entry in my contact list. How do I get all contacts into the 9900?

View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter putting my phone on charge last night, I woke up to my 9900 with a blank screen and a red light that blinks every couple of seconds. No amount of battery pulls would fix the problem. Upon researching for a solution I discovered that this issue is actually a very common problem with the 9900. At this rate, I don't really care about recovering my phone as it seems that the model is entirely unreliable anyway. Just want to know if anybody with this issue has been successful in retrieving files stored on their device. I recorded some important videos a few days back, and stupidly saved it directly onto the device instead of the memory card. Desktop manager doesn't recognize the phone with or without the battery inserted.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone was stolen and I know who has it but I can't get it back from that person yet and Im worried that the person does something to my phone. Although I have a password lock on it and my Mum called up the company to lock the phone I am worried that the persona will attempt at the password more than 10 times which would cause my phone to wipe everything. I have just about everything on the phone that I need for my lessons and also notes/planning on a couple of my subjects so I was wondering if its possible to recover it if the person does wipe the phone....
View 1 Replies View Relatedfrom the link below and from the comparisons in the RIM website, I had the impression the 9930 only added CDMA to the 9900. I then decided to purchase a 9930 to be safe, but am having difficulties connecting it to my Brazilian phone provider (the data does not work, but voice is good). confirm that the 9930 really only adds CDMA technology to the 9900 and should be working with my Brazilian GSM provider?

I need to get my contact information and some data in my BB back up somewhere until I receive my new phone, anyway I can do it? View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Blackberry Bold 9900 with IMEI 35856604xxxxxx, I did an update for the software version 7.1.0 Bundle 2061 however I entered the password 5 times due to a non functional button on my keyboard and all data was wiped. Unfortunately I do not have a backup and I lost all my contacts and media files. Is there a way to rollback knowing that I did previously an upgrade for the software version over the air, so probably my data is stored somewhere on RIM servers.
