View 1 RepliesI had loads of advice about batteries and apps running but have cancelled camthem out through a process of elimination.
My phone powers of randomly but most noticeably after a call or when i have it connected via Bluetooth in the car with no apperant reason.
I have drop my phone into my service provider twice. The first time i was given a new phone and once i left the shop the new one did the exact same thing. The second time it came back from repair and reported with no issue. It worked fine for about an hour and then started to power off just like before.
So a week or two after getting my Blackberry Bold 9900 it started turning off for no reason. The screen goes black and then I cannot turn the phone back on without removing the battery, waiting 30 seconds and the replacing it.I have tested a new battery and this has not helped. I have tried cleaning the contacts on the phone this has not helped. I have updated the software numerous times and this has not helped. The only way I can get my phone to stay on is by having it constantly on charge.I want to return it for a replacement as it is only a few months old.

View 1 Replies View RelatedGetting really angry with this phone now, 2nd or 3rd day without it turning on, what happened was it was running out of battery and I plugged it in thinking it was charging, not realising i've not actually turnt the socket on (typical manic mum moment) come back to it and it wasn't wokring, so now I decided to leave it over night on charge, nope... so went and brought a new charger thinking it might be a charger issue. still to no avail. Now its randomly varying between red led flashing with long pauses, sometimes it would start loading with the blackberry screen and loading bar then restart itself back to black screen and red led instead on going on to the main screen, other times its coming up with empty battery and red line through it... i've tried installing the blackberry desktop software to get it working that way, removed battery etc, held down the end call button, all the usual suspect moves.. and still nothing. I really need this phone to be working i've all my numbers, sons photos etc on there, really dont want to do a whole system reset..
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn my older 8520 I could go into Settings and turn off date at night, so no emails or BBM or Facebook came thru. Just calls or texts. How do I set that on the Bold 9900?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHave had 9900 for nearly a week. Every time I switch off or use the auto off I cannot switch back on using the power key. I have to pull the battery and it reboots once replaced. The auto on function does not work either. I removed all my extra applications with no success. The battery life is very short. I can only get 12 hours when receiving 4 calls , making 2 calls and receiving 10 emails.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy 6 month old BB Bold 9900 battery was running low- set it to charge and this morning it will not start. Google and tried most of the options- red light flashes whn set to charge- sometimes even a green flashing light. Alarm rings continuously unless I remove battery.what rights do i have- this seems to be such a common problem with this faulty- should be a faulty recall!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had a Blackberry bold 9900 which suffered an irrecoverable crash in December last year. Orange sent me a replacement. Last night, I went to get my phone and tried switching it on with the button at the top. It didn't come on. The phone would only reboot to 70%. I read on a forum to remove the battery and sim card and reinsert. The phone does not come on at all now. I've tried charging with/without battery, with/without sim card. I've tried everything on the internet. all my contacts are on the phone, I assumed this would be safe as it was supposed to do a regular back up. Is there a fix for the phone, if not, how do I access these backups that the phone was doing?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought a Verizon Bold 9900 and it's been working wonderfully well for the first 4 months. A few days ago I connected my phone to my laptop and did a sync on blackberry desktop manager. I think I might have also updated the software of the phone. But the basic intention was to backup my data (which hung half way). I woke up the next morning and my phone was switched off. Whatever I try, the phone only blinks red every few seconds but does not switch back on. I have tried using my friends bold 9900 battery but that didnt work either (so battery is not the problem). I am afraid this might be a software problem. Now I can't get this phone replaced from Verizon and need a fix because I really can't afford to purchase another phone like it!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI wake up in the morning, removing my Bold 9900 from the charger, i found the LED blinking continuously in red and it doesnt respond to me switching it on.
It also doesnt respond to Desktop Software Manager.
I tried a couple of things from different forums, but with no joy. I read this is a well know issue to RIM,
I switched to new Bold 9900, need to switch my blackberry email address from old device to new 9900, No problem switching my non blackberry email address. It will not let me reload my previous blackberry address, wants to add a 1, 2, or a 3 to my name. I guess I need to ell the Blackberry server my new device.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a blackberry bold 9900 and the battery was very low so the next thing I noticed is that it switched off and when I tried to charge it it started to reboot but then it reached half way and stopped right there. Later I tired to remove the battery a reinsert it and then put it on the charger but no red light appeared and the phone would not charge or switch on at all...

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a bold 9780, shuts down for no apparent reason sometimes whilst in a conversation. I take the battery out and do a restart red light comes on then nothing, plug in it to charger thinking the battery could be flat, still doesn't come to life, once again take the battery out sim out give it the magic tap, put it back to gather a gain, still nothing. Then all of a sudden it decides to come on redlight, blackberry loading bar, security check then its on, very strange, this happens several times a day.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a BB bold 9780 since 2 years. Since 3 months my BB shutdowns without reason, and sometimes when it reboots the trackpad doesn't work. So I have to reboot (remove battery) until the trackpad reworks.

I let the phone deplete its battery which didn't take very long but the problem persists.

I have an iPhone 4s (Verizon). I had recently purchased what was described as an OEM screen plus LCD after I had cracked my factory screen. After replacing the screen and LCD such features as the side volume controls, vibrate switch, and proximity switch (dimming after accepting a call) have stopped working. I double checked to see that all of the connectors were pushed on correctly and they were. Is it possible this may not be an OEM screen and causing the problem or is there a piece of the hardware that I may have damaged that controls all of these functions (i.e. motherboard)?

So of course there's switch mode from work and "play". I have this issue where when I switch from one the theme changes and if I switch back the theme doesn't change. I thought this would be fix, but I guess I was the only one with this issue. Just updated to .54. I'm of course not going to do anything about it I'll just work with it. Seeing that nothing else is wrong with my phone but that. Which is GOOD. Anyway wanted to see if and one else has this issue. I've had this issue since .52 didn't have it before that.My N8 as current Green running Xeon^4 3.2.1My E72 as backup 1 WhiteMy E63 as backup 2 BLUE (Where's my Icon...?) and..[URL] with the popup notes Nokia sheesh I don't need help from you :/I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit/Ubuntu 11.10 64bit on my HP Dv6 1030us (DiViUs)Windows 7 64 bit Pro on my Desktop (Giniro)Green Nokia N8 Current Phone running Xeon^4 3.2.1
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a blackberry 9700 I've had it for 16 months now. I would say its in the best condition but it was working fine until all of a sudden it switched off. I tried taking out the battery it didn't work I bought a new battery that was fully charged and still nothing happened not even the red light. I have put on charge for a about 1 hour or more some times for the past 4 days and still there isn't any responds. I have taken the battery out for a few hours as well and placed into the phone again and still nothing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo yesterday, my phone died completely (so that it was drained and completely off) and when I plugged it in, the red light went on and it began to load, as usual. wever, when it reached a point, not even a quarter of the bar, it stopped, switched off and restarted. This happened continuously before I unplugged it and the battery drained again.
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy blackberry bold 9700 which is only about 3 months old, went completely flat this morning, i put it on charge (and its been charging for about 4 hours now) the screen is black, then the red led light comes on, then after a few seconds the horitzontal blackberry line comes on, it gets about 1/4 of the way then it switches off and starts again. i have alt+shift+delete a couple times, i have battery pulled about 20 times, it just continues doing it
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phone switched off on Friday, after which I tried to switch it on, it gets about a fifth of the way through the loading bar before it cuts out. The tries again to switch on, but keeps hitting the same point. I see that someone else had a similar problem, the difference is, is that the Desktop Manager also can't read /pick up my phone when I plug it in, so I can't follow any of the other options
View 9 Replies View RelatedOn a number of occasions where my battery was nearly flat as I put it on the charger before I went to bed I woke up in the morning to find that the device wouldn't turn on. A battery pull sorted it every time. Last night I put my Blackberry on charge and woke up this morning to find that not even the battery pull would work. When I hooked it up to my laptop, the desktop software recognised that it couldn't communicate with Blackberry and offered to update the software (which in fact I did a couple of weeks ago). I read a KB article that said one should do this without the battery installed. Alas during the software update where it gets to the point 'reconnecting to jvm', I have to re-insert the battery as the 'no battery' icon appears on the screen. We then get stuck in the original cycle whereby the device gets stuck in a cycle of light on, light off... and of course a failed software update too.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have Bold 9000 on O2, but since yesterday I have not been able to turn it on. When powered up via usb and PC or direct from mains, all i het is the red message light showing all the time and nothing else ..but sometimes it goes out and on screen is a picture of a battery with a blue zig zag flash running through it. This is a bit random, but seems to alternate between either redlight or battery outline. Plugging Bold into PC and running blackberry desktop manager does not do anything - the desktop manager does not recognise that a device has been plugged in (hence does not show PIN). Has the battery suddenly and completely died? (There were no signs of this happening before - no performance issues etc)
