BB Bold 9700 :: Past Calls List Deleting After Reboot?
Feb 3, 2010my 9700 is deleting my past calls list whenever I reboot either with quickpull, or battery pull. Is there a setting or something I can use to keep this from happening?

Theme's have no real effect from what I've noticed. Unless you have a really big gfx intense theme.

7:09 - 7:21 "Memory Clean Turned on" + Theme + password + wallpaper on mem card Re-test (that was way too long)
6:36 - 6:45 "Memory Clean Already On" + Theme + password + wallpaper on mem card.
3:23 - 3:45 "Encrytion Media Card Only" + BerryWeather + Theme + password + wallpaper on mem card + Mem Compression Memory Clean and Encrytion (Device Memory Enabled) either one of those on will increase reboot time by atleast 2-3mins. When enabling Device Memory encryption Memory Clean is automatically turned on and can't be disabled. So in my testing reboot time was between 6-7mins. My current config setup is that last test. Since Password is on, I see no need for Device Memory encryption to be on. Without the password you can't gain access to device files. ZonaSnap , QuickLaunch, Blink all preloaded during each test. 8 Email Accounts, about 80 read emails, and 100+ sms, 41 apps anyone that is getting 1-2min reboot please post your settings.

Does it with some more often then others and seems to be ones that i've added myself rather then ones taken from facebook. Anyone else experienced this?i'm running 5.0.0.351 although i'm upgrading it now to see if it cures the issue.

Mar 18, 2012After a few days my iphone 4s calendar deletes all my current, past and future events . I am not syncing with my computer or doing anything except entering information directly on the calendar using my phone. Now I have lost all doctor appointments, work schedule etc. Does anyone know why this is happening or how I can prevent it? I can't find the answer doing a google search.

BB Curve :: 8520 Can't Get Past Reboot Stage After Battery Pull
Oct 25, 2011I've got a curve 8520 and earlier today it was playing up and so I decided to re-boot it by taking the battery out. It seemed normal and I'd left it for a while but when I came back to it, the re-boot hadn't gone past about 2/3 of the way. I've tried several different things, plugging it into the computer, and the wall, and also taken the battery out several more times and each time it still doesn't go past 2/3.

I tried configuring for hours but syncing still comes up trying to delete entries more than few months old, which I want to keep. I tried 'upcoming entries only' (then it wants to delete over 1000 entries!!) and can't get the 'advanced' filters option to make any difference.

May 14, 2010I am new to Blackberry desktop manager for mac. It is all set up and first sync is done without a problem. Now when I try to sync, I get a message that over 600 of my past calendar items will be deleted if I continue with sync. I need to keep previous calendar items, is there a way to solve this problem and not delete past events? I am sorry for asking this question, I am just new and very unsure of what I am doing. I had used missing sync before, but when my blackberry had to be replaced, new blackberry wouldn't work so I wanted to try desktop manager.

May 26, 2010Ive been playing in google for the last hour and cant find anythign that helps. this morning my 9700 crashed as it does regularly and it wont load again. it gets to the status bar, makes its way about 1/4 of the way down and then crashed and tries to reboot. started at 9 am this morning, ive tried hard and soft resets, the battery was out of it for over an hour, desktop manager cant do anything with it becase it keeps crashing while its connecting. a new phone is in the mail but i need this phone for work and i need to boot this thing in the next little while. again ive tried ctrl alt dlt methoed a few times, numerous battery pulls, battery sat out of the phone for over an hour, tried booting it with the battery out, tried conecting to it with the battery in and out to desktop manager and nothing has worked.

May 17, 2010Did a restore on my 9700 this morning backing it up with my save from Friday. Turned it back on after the restore, no issues, everything worked fine then about 15 mins later the screen went white and had no functionality. i did a battery pull and nothing happens. screen is now totally black, it wont reboot and the LED just flashes red once, pause, then three times? I tried everything from charging the phone, removing the battery for hours, removing the micro sd card, but it still continues to load to a certain point and sticks. Apr 27, 2010so I've tried finding this in the manual and have tried searching the threads, and haven't found my answer. Upon first getting used to the keys on my 9700, I would accidentally delete all the text I had just type in my SMS texts. I could have been pressing multiple buttons due to my bulky bodyglove that I have on it, but I've tried everything: pressing Delete twice really fast, holding the Delete key down, pressing the Delete key down while pressing the surrounding keys down...everything. Now that I want the whole field cleared, I can't figure out how it did it when I didn't intend to do it initially.Anyone know what to do, aside from going to the Menu and pressing Clear Field? I was only "backspacing" at the time I was fixing character typos, and somehow it managed to delete the whole field.

Jun 2, 2010Please could you help. I recently upgraded to a blackberry bold 9700.Since doing this, I have been experiencing problems accessing my BBM message history. On my old Blackberry curve, I could see all my bbm message history and I had a 1GB media card. Now I have a 2 GB media card, and when I ask for the history to be saved on the media card, it wipes all the history., If I set it to save on the device memory, then it saves the message for 2 days, then deletes it. Please could you tell me what to do in order to resolve this issue? I have tried battery pulls, deleting applications that I do not use, deleting all emails, deleting all sms. My current device memory is 95% free. I cannot work out what is goin gon and am desperate to be able to save my message history.

Feb 13, 2010I have been a BB lover for years. My Curve 5320 served me well and I loved it. When the new Bold 9700 was released I was one of the first to get it b/c businesses were offered the opportunity to get it before individuals. I was so excited about 3G, it's sleek look, etc. My excitement has officially crashed and burned. When placing calls it will fail repeatedly before even dialing the number. It will fail during calls up to 5 and 6 times in a few minute period, which is HORRIBLE during business calls. It will lock up when I'm trying to move between apps, it will spontaneously shut itself off. I'm feeling like my BB is possessed. This is my second 9700. The first the E key would stick or repeat 20 times on a text and the calls would fail, so they diligently sent me a new one. Thankfully, I no longer have to edit every text for 100 e's (i'm stopping @ theeeeeee storeeeeeeeeeee is theeeeeeereeeeeee anything you neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed), but the failed calls thing is really pissing me off! Also, the volume on calls is really low in comparison to my Curve. To top it off, the 3G speed seems as slow as, if not slower than my former EDGE. I am hoping and praying that a software upgrade will fix all of these issues, but if it doesn't are there any suggestions as to what i can do? Other than switching to an iPhone? I for one happen to love my Qwerty keyboard and am not exactly fond of the on-screen keyboards.

Mar 12, 2010I found a software bug last night. When I set the alarm and turn on the night modus and put the BB in the holster, once it starts ringing and I remove it from the holster, the BB crashes. The screen is completely white and does not react on any input. After a few seconds the BB automatically reboots.I have the newest OS installed.

Jan 18, 2010Ok so besides the inaccurate timestamp issue that they haven't fixed yet, I'm also having an issue when deleting messages. The first time I select and delete a message from the VVM folder it doesn't actually delete the message from my voicemail and if I call VM it is still listed as an unheard message. So then I manually reconcile in the VVM folder and the previously deleted message comes back and it's not till I delete it the second time that it actually removes it from the voicemail system.

Jul 28, 2010My BBM history, depending on length of course, is deleting after 4-6 days of history. I have it set to save to my device, but have also tried media card and it does the same. I also have my SMS and MMS chat histories to save forever, and I went into the messages icon on the home screen where I read most of my BBMs and did the same; but I must be doing something wrong because my history is still disappearing!Can anybody help?

Aug 23, 2010On my brother's 9700, he's experienced two random shut downs. He's with Rogers and has the latest OS installed (.743). He would notice that sometimes the phone sort of shuts off by itself. Normally he would keep the phone on standby or lock, but when he'd go to unlock the phone, he'd notice that none of the keys work (screen remains black). Normally the screen would light up and say that the phone is locked, but this doesn't happen. Then, he would hold down the End key for a couple of seconds to power up the phone, only the phone doesn't boot up from scratch. Instead, the Rogers splash screen would appear and it would go directly to his home screen. The phone is only about a week old and is brand new (not refurbished). Is there some sort of lock/standby feature that I'm unaware of that his phone is going into? Has anyone else experienced this?

When I used BB Desktop Manager restore to bring my data onto the 9700, it brought my old email address along with it. The new carrier has no clue on how to erase it.
