Hey guys. It seems like sometimes my phone lags or freezes for a little bit when I delete a message. It definitely does it when I delete a SMS that isn't that short. Anyone else having issues with that and any resolutions?

I have a lot of old messages in my visual voicemail and sms text. I have a Blackberry Bold 9700.
Is there some way I can delete all or most of these without having to do them one-by-one?
Ok so besides the inaccurate timestamp issue that they haven't fixed yet, I'm also having an issue when deleting messages. The first time I select and delete a message from the VVM folder it doesn't actually delete the message from my voicemail and if I call VM it is still listed as an unheard message. So then I manually reconcile in the VVM folder and the previously deleted message comes back and it's not till I delete it the second time that it actually removes it from the voicemail system.

Has been working perfectly for the last 2 months. Haven't changed anything.
A few days ago I switched to another phone for a few days and I left my Bold with its battery removed for a day or two.When I restarted my Bold 9700, I've been unable to see or act on the home screen or apps screen. However, the phone is still working (push on the green button and the phone screen pops up), same with the long press on blackberry key.
I did search to do a reset of my handset but I can't find a way to do it knowing that I can't access the menus.
I currently have an SMS app called Crunchsms. Anyway, got a notification today that an upgrade was available (v2.8 > v2.9). Upgraded and it asked me to reboot, as per normal. Handset rebooted, put in my pin, and the home screen is frozen. Yet if I hold in the blackberry menu key, I can choose and select other destinations (i.e. WnW, Messages, Maps, etc).I can call my handset from another phone with no problems and can answer the calls ok.
I have been getting the little arrows in the top right corner of the phone, which leads me to believe the handset was downloading something, but its been like this for about 20 minutes now. Have rebooted again twice and have taken the battery out and replaced it, same end result.
My bold 9700 seems to be deleting contacts caller id photos randomly. Does it with some more often then others and seems to be ones that i've added myself rather then ones taken from facebook. Anyone else experienced this?i'm running 5.0.0.351 although i'm upgrading it now to see if it cures the issue.

This morning I tried to delete an entry in my call history and my phone froze so I took my battery out and put it back in. When it finished loading and my home screen popped up it immediately popped up with "Uncaught Exception Index 3>=3 " then went to a white screen that said App Error 523.I had never downloaded the Desktop Manager so I installed it on my laptop, plugged my phone in and did the application loader trick that everyone talks about and deleted all apps but I'm still having the same issue?

Whereas in the previous OS, I had a choice of deleting messages on the handheld only or on both the handheld and my computer, I now only get an option to delete which removes the message from the handheld but not from my computer. Is there an option which enables the delete to remove a message from the handheld and the computer? Is there also a way to maintain the ability to delete only from the handheld?

Upon first getting used to the keys on my 9700, I would accidentally delete all the text I had just type in my SMS texts. I could have been pressing multiple buttons due to my bulky bodyglove that I have on it, but I've tried everything: pressing Delete twice really fast, holding the Delete key down, pressing the Delete key down while pressing the surrounding keys down...everything. Now that I want the whole field cleared, I can't figure out how it did it when I didn't intend to do it initially.Anyone know what to do, aside from going to the Menu and pressing Clear Field? I was only "backspacing" at the time I was fixing character typos, and somehow it managed to delete the whole field.
View 9 Replies View RelatedPlease could you help. I recently upgraded to a blackberry bold 9700.Since doing this, I have been experiencing problems accessing my BBM message history. On my old Blackberry curve, I could see all my bbm message history and I had a 1GB media card. Now I have a 2 GB media card, and when I ask for the history to be saved on the media card, it wipes all the history., If I set it to save on the device memory, then it saves the message for 2 days, then deletes it. Please could you tell me what to do in order to resolve this issue? I have tried battery pulls, deleting applications that I do not use, deleting all emails, deleting all sms. My current device memory is 95% free. I cannot work out what is goin gon and am desperate to be able to save my message history.

I have it set to save to my device, but have also tried media card and it does the same. I also have my SMS and MMS chat histories to save forever, and I went into the messages icon on the home screen where I read most of my BBMs and did the same; but I must be doing something wrong because my history is still disappearing!Can anybody help?

My blackberry 9900 keeps deleting the old mail and text messages on its own...any setting to stop this one. I have kept the validity as Max.

It would be nice if there were a way to mark several of them for deletion (like you can in Gmail on a computer, for example), or at least set up a shortcut key to delete, but I haven't figured either of those out yet.

When I used BB Desktop Manager restore to bring my data onto the 9700, it brought my old email address along with it. The new carrier has no clue on how to erase it. I have to be careful now to make sure I am choosing new carrier when sending out emails otherwise they won't send. How do I delete the old carrier email address? From the handset or from Desktop Manager?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently had to wipe out my BB completely and my office IT restored the main databases.Unfortunately, I now have to reinstall again all my third party applications that I used to have (the backup file I have in my personal PC does not show the applications so I can restore them).Looking at the folders in my media card, I realize I have a lot of files related to those previous applications and wonder if I should delete them before installing the same applications again. Or do I need those files there?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use a Curve 8310 as my work BB (through an enterprise server) and recently acquired a Bold 9700 for my personal email accounts. I used the "Switch Device" option on my BB Desktop Manager, to trasfer contacts from my work BB to the 9700. All this was a breeze. Unfortunately what this also did was transfer my work email folders (all archive folders) on to the 9700. So in the email application on the 9700, if I select "View Folder" from the menu key, I see a whole bunch of archive folders. I have no use for these folders on the 9700 but cannot find a way to delete them.Is there a way that I can delete all these redundant email archive folders from the 9700?

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust a couple of days ago, I received a BBM from my daughter, although my cell was turned off for the night. I thought maybe I'd not turned it off. Last night again, I turned it off (I always do every night) and was woken early because not only was my turned off phone receiving messages, it had also enabled my Drive Safely app and the phone was busy reading everything to me.I checked and the phone was off. I still had to push the red phone key to turn it on.I immediately did a battery pull and will hope for the best.Has anyone had this experience?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use gmail and when I delete an email on the web, it doesn't delete on my BB. The same goes for when I open an email on the web, it doesn't show 'read' on my BB. Interestingly though, if I delete or read an email on my BB, the action is reciprocated on the web.And finally, if I send myself an email (either from the web or my BB), it appears on the web but not on my BB.

If I'm on the home screen, I can try to open my text messages or e-mail messages program, but nothing happens. My other programs work in the meantime, but I'm frozen out of messages, even when I can see the notification that I have new ones.

I've just got a new white Bold 9700, and put a 16gb memory card in it from my Curve 8310. I dunno if that's what's caused it, but now I can't see my message folders on the Bold - be that the BBM, text, or my three email accounts. I'm still getting email notifications. What I've done to cause them to hide, and how I can get them back?
