BB Bold 9700 :: 7min Reboot Now 3min Reboot My Test / Findings?
Mar 30, 2010
Reboot complete (main screen/carrier logo) First Time and Device Usable Second Time
Minutes:Seconds
3:13 - 3:37 Custom Theme
3:11 - 3:25 Default Carrier Theme
Theme's have no real effect from what I've noticed. Unless you have a really big gfx intense theme.
3:13 - 3:23 Password
3:13 - 3:25 Password + wallpaper on mem card
7:09 - 7:21 "Memory Clean Turned on" + Theme + password + wallpaper on mem card Re-test (that was way too long)
6:36 - 6:45 "Memory Clean Already On" + Theme + password + wallpaper on mem card.
3:23 - 3:45 "Encrytion Media Card Only" + BerryWeather + Theme + password + wallpaper on mem card + Mem Compression Memory Clean and Encrytion (Device Memory Enabled) either one of those on will increase reboot time by atleast 2-3mins. When enabling Device Memory encryption Memory Clean is automatically turned on and can't be disabled. So in my testing reboot time was between 6-7mins. My current config setup is that last test. Since Password is on, I see no need for Device Memory encryption to be on. Without the password you can't gain access to device files. ZonaSnap , QuickLaunch, Blink all preloaded during each test. 8 Email Accounts, about 80 read emails, and 100+ sms, 41 apps anyone that is getting 1-2min reboot please post your settings.
I was updating my email setup and rebooted as usual, however now all i get is the BB logo and the bar filled to the end and nothing after. Battery is fully chargedHave plugged into cpu to reset but BB cannot connect
Ive been playing in google for the last hour and cant find anythign that helps. this morning my 9700 crashed as it does regularly and it wont load again. it gets to the status bar, makes its way about 1/4 of the way down and then crashed and tries to reboot. started at 9 am this morning, ive tried hard and soft resets, the battery was out of it for over an hour, desktop manager cant do anything with it becase it keeps crashing while its connecting. a new phone is in the mail but i need this phone for work and i need to boot this thing in the next little while. again ive tried ctrl alt dlt methoed a few times, numerous battery pulls, battery sat out of the phone for over an hour, tried booting it with the battery out, tried conecting to it with the battery in and out to desktop manager and nothing has worked.
Did a restore on my 9700 this morning backing it up with my save from Friday. Turned it back on after the restore, no issues, everything worked fine then about 15 mins later the screen went white and had no functionality. i did a battery pull and nothing happens. screen is now totally black, it wont reboot and the LED just flashes red once, pause, then three times? BBDM wont recognize the device when its connected?
So my bold 9700 began to re-boot itself and the bar started to load, reached about three quarters and wont go any further. I tried everything from charging the phone, removing the battery for hours, removing the micro sd card, but it still continues to load to a certain point and sticks. I've tried everything over and over but nothing different happens.
My Blackberry have a problem with media player, so i switched off my phone by pull out the battery but after that it wont turn on...Its wont start perfectly and keeps rebooting.
I found a software bug last night. When I set the alarm and turn on the night modus and put the BB in the holster, once it starts ringing and I remove it from the holster, the BB crashes. The screen is completely white and does not react on any input. After a few seconds the BB automatically reboots.I have the newest OS installed.
On my brother's 9700, he's experienced two random shut downs. He's with Rogers and has the latest OS installed (.743). He would notice that sometimes the phone sort of shuts off by itself. Normally he would keep the phone on standby or lock, but when he'd go to unlock the phone, he'd notice that none of the keys work (screen remains black). Normally the screen would light up and say that the phone is locked, but this doesn't happen. Then, he would hold down the End key for a couple of seconds to power up the phone, only the phone doesn't boot up from scratch. Instead, the Rogers splash screen would appear and it would go directly to his home screen. The phone is only about a week old and is brand new (not refurbished). Is there some sort of lock/standby feature that I'm unaware of that his phone is going into? Has anyone else experienced this?
My mom has literally had her BB 9700 for 2 weeks now and last night it just turned off and when she goes to turn it on it shows that it's turning on and shows the status bar only it doesn't go all the way and just turns right back on? I really don't feel like hassaling with t-mobile if there is another way to fix this!
I can't seem to find this exact problem, so bear with me if I missed it. My problem is that when I did a bettery pull a couple of days ago, my 9700 went into constant reboot. I was able to correct this by connecting to DM and reloading the OS (.714). This was the same OS I was previously using. Now, when I do a BP, the progress bar goes all the way to the end and it just freezes. I have to pull the battery again, and reload the same 714 OS from DM. No help from TMO online help, so I thought I would ask here.
my 9700 is deleting my past calls list whenever I reboot either with quickpull, or battery pull. Is there a setting or something I can use to keep this from happening?
Got my bb about 2 months ago and everything's working fine until today i couldnt retrieve email on my bb. i tried to reboot (hard) and reformat my phone but each time when i tried to reset the email settings, a message "your device had a problem connecting to the server" will appear.i'm using a bb bold 9700 currently.
I have a problem with my Blackberry 9700 and it has a message of App Error 200. I try to reboot it to safe mode but it wouldn't work, I'm trying to delete third party application I used to download in the internet but my phone stop working. I try also to update the software but the problem is the memory is full, I cannot delete the applications to free the memory because the phone stop working and in the screen you will only see app error 200. My device model is Blackberry 9700 PIN: 21F447D0 OS:5.0 Bundle 726 (v5.0.0.442 Platform 5.1.0.121)
Need some help, recently just bought a Bold 9700 and it was doing fine i.e. browsing, instant message (IM) and emails, but problems surface recently my phone went thru a software upgrade.Problem: device takes longer to register to BIS even though the network sservice status showed "BIS connected via mobile network", I cannot browse, IM or even email... - I tried to register all the numbers in my HRT but not able to recieve the registration email, only after almost 30mins or so... - also i realised i have many items in my HRT containing GPRS SG... and Wi-Fi... is this normal?
I've been having issues with my bb, while bbming and listening to music via the media player, minutes and even sometimes seconds after putting a song on my BB freezes up and reboots itself. I searched the forums for the exact same issue and didn't come across a thread. If anyone has any ideas or possibly a link to the solution feel free to toss err in.
How much are the fast reboot or reboot/kill software really needed on ICS?im finding that even on a large exclude list there are still apps that run, that i dont really need and eat up some of the interal memory.is there any other way other than rebooting all the time to get rid of them? Will rebooting drain more battery energy?
My bold is only a few months old, just recently it started saying "no data connection is avalaible" despite having the 3G full bars icon. BUT if I do a battery pull the internet works for a while (hour or two?). After it "goes out" I have to do a battery pull to get it working again... quite annoying.
Anyone know whats up?? Everything else on the phone works fine. I am using tzones on tmobile (have tried both epc & internet2 apns to see if that was the problem)
I have a 6 month old blackberry 9900. I suddenly noticed some Java Null pointer exceptions on my screen with the blackbeery platform 5.0..0.464 message on top.
I tried rebooting the system couple of times but doesnt work.
Tried to update the sioftware, unfortuntaely it requires a DM and my DM doest recoignize my device any more. Infact it recognizes the system and also the PIN however, it doesnt connect to the 9900.
So am unable to do anything. if I can install OS in someway without being on DM. Loosing data shouldnt be constraint as I feel in love with this piece and I want it to work.
After uninstalling an app I rebooted the phone. Now it won't fully turn on (it takes a long time to load to white screen of my carrier) and the screen stays at that point. I've tried taking the battery out. The only way I can get it past the white screen is if I take out the sim card which doesn't help matters much.
My wife just a 9650 through VZW. This morning it starting doing the constant reboot thing. I know how to fix it (since her old Curve would crash all the time), but anybody have ideas on what would cause this? She doesn't have many 3rd party apps (Quickpull, Buzzme, Google Maps), so I can't imagine it would be related to low memory. Is daily scheduled quickpull perhaps overkill on this phone? I'd like to do to avoid it crashing again, since I'm the official "phone fixer/OS reinstaller guy".
I have the .464, and everything was smooth, i have 35mb memory after rebooting, and the only apps i have is berryweather...today i havent done anything on the phone but he started to reboot himself...one time he reboot himself continuasly 4 times !is this normal?now after recivieng an email he did a reboot again....what can i do ?
I have had the phone for about 6 months - T-Mobile. I recently updated the software and noticed the touch track ball was not working. I pulled the battery and now it will not boot up and has blinking red light.
about a week ago my bb was dropped into a cup of tea (which had sugar and milk in) and i quickly took out the battery and stuck it in a bowl of uncooked rice for a few days. It was working about 2 days ago, except the keyboard was sticky so I turned it off and got some isopropyl alcohol cleaner and followed some instructions on how to open it all up and clean it which i did. Before i cleaned it i turned it on and the loading screen came up, only it gets to about 5 or 10 percent then restarts itself which it then proceeds to do over and over. I have looked into this problem and it seems i need to reinstall the os?
at least once a week my Boss' new Bold 9900 will lose its BIS and BES activation and then he has to switch the phone off, pull sim out put sim back put baterry back and switch on the phone and the the BIS and BES activation is back. He is currently running the following versions:
my blackberry froze so I tuck the battery out to do a reboot now its stuck on reboot 3/4 I have done EVERYTHING tried loading new os, I've whipped my phone put a new os.
Basically I plugged my phone in to my computer yesterday to charge it up, did no updates or download anything new, it is exactly the same software wise as it was before the problem started. It suddenly has started switching off automatically and then switching back on but its not in a continuous loop. It happens frequently but I sometimes can use my phone for a few minutes before it will start doing this again. I have a small feeling I know this is going to sound completely stupid but I have a small feeling it may have something to do with the signal. At university my signal constantly switches between having some and no signal and when I have no signal it seems to keep restarting and resetting it self till I have signal.Sometimes it resets when I do have signal but the majority of the time it resets it doesn't have signal. This is going to be the next stupid part, I went home today and I had full signal all day and this problem didn't happen once but soon as I got back to university the problem has started again.
I have a 6 month old BB 9780 and it froze. After taking out the battery to restart the phone, it will not come back on and there is NO blinking red light even after severalnhours of charging.
My bb frooze on me so i tried to reboot it & was unsuccessful. You see the loading bar that come up on your phone just before you put your pin in. Well the loading bar is only making it 2/3 of the way then stops.
