Sometimes when I have a new email, sms, and BBM, the LED will shut off or stop blinking after a certain amount of time. I was just curious to see if this was a glitch with my phone, or it was a bold 9700 thing. Or it was just something normal?

I upgraded UT to 0.945, and for a reason it keeps blinking when I launch it, knowing that, there are no DM or mentions/replies posts. I'm sure it is something has to do with the options and it bugs the helll of me not finding it.

View 1 Replies View Relatednew to blackberry in general. have the bold 9700 and mostly have it on silent so i rely heavily on the red led blinking to signal a missed call. i could have sworn this was always the case cause a vm would generraly acompany the call. the other day the light was green so i thought i was good but in fact i had missed an important call. is this the way it is or is there a setting to have the led blink red with a missed call just like a message.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I installed my BB Desktop Manager and first plugged in my Bold 9700, it asked if I would like to update various features on my phone, to which I accepted. The update froze- I can't remember quite at which stage but I recall it was at the end stages and the stage at which it froze started with JVM. After waiting an hour or so, I disconnected my Blackberry, not knowing what to do. The screen remained black and the red light started blinking.I looked up fixes for the problem and they seemed simple- one used JL_Cmdr to do a full wipe- but I am using Windows 7 and it isn't compatible. I get a brief command prompt screen for a half second before it closes.
The second fix involved using the command prompt to get to the Loader in the AppLoader file- but I ran into another problem- when trying to open Loader.exe, I got a "The Application Loader requires the Blackberry Device Manager to be installed." Then looking up THAT fix, I downloaded a new OS and redownloaded the Desktop Manager, but am getting the same error.
The other day my BB without me knowing it, rebooted and when i looked at the screen it loads up to about 60 % and then "freezes" ive tried pulling the battery, sim card. charging it on my mac laptopit will sit there for hours on end so waiting it out doesnt work. Is there anything that i can do to get my phone working again?

(or 3G & 2G)the little BB symbol just disappears, internet, BBM & email will not work.As soon as I put my phone in to 2G mode everything starts to work.I'm on Three UK network witch is 3G by default.is this a common problem with the 9700? or does my phone need looking at?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm not sure whether this is a 9700 problem or a problem with Orange (UK) but it seems that every time I restart my BlackBerry, be it a battery pull or a restart from removing an app, my phone loses the ability to connect to UMA ("ISP or wireless network error"). The first time this happened I rang Orange and got them to reset my service and this seemed to do the trick since shortly after my UMA connected again.After installing and then removing App World and restarting my BlackBerry, it's gone again. Obviously I can't ring Orange support at all hours of the day and every time this happens.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'm totally stumped on this one..My Bold is running OS 5.0.0.351 (The latest version on Orange)I've tried numerous battery pulls, resetting the router, wiped my handset, re-sent service books, all the usual stuff.The wifi icon is white and NOT greyed out. All other wifi features are working except UMA.
So i've been using att for about two months now since switching from Verizon. Everything was fine at first but recently i would say within the past month i've been dropping calls and having problems with the data services. I'll be streaming slacker radio and all of a sudden it stops and i have to reboot to get it working again. The dropped calls thing is pretty much random. Im running 5.0.0.405.
Anyone else having this problem? I mean the whole surfing while talking thing is nice but if this keeps up im going to have to just bite the bullet pay the early term fee and switch back!
9700 (got it in november, right after launch) i am running .442 OS (crappy, need to update it) and my PC is on windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. for a while now, when i connect my BB via USB, the PC recognizes it, and i can modify the files on my SD card as much as i want, for as long as i want.BUT if i try to do anythign with DM (backup, load new OS, etc.) it will communicate for a few seconds (generally less than 30) and then stop. the DM still says it is trying to communicate, and my BB shows that it is connected to the DM, but with no send/receive arrows. after a WHILE, it times out.charges fine via USB, SD card works fine via USB. as far as i can see, all of the pins are there.i have tried a few different computers with the same result. this an OS bug? what should i do? i can probly get it to communicate enough for a bare-bones backup of contacts/etc., and then wipe/reload, but im afraid that if i try that, it may hang up yet again and leave me w/o a phone!any ideas? i REALLY need to get rid of this crap OS w/ crap battery life, that keeps giving me 523 errors.

When I sync with my BB Bold 9930 via BB Desktop and set sync for my contacts to be one way "Computer to Device" and select "Replace all entries on yor device with the entries on yor computer" the sync operation does not remoce the 200 contacts from my BB that were removed from my outlook

9000 Bold with ATT version V4.6.0.304 Platform 4.0.0.247...I get numerous emails to my laptop to; network@etp.us.blackberry.net..The emails say, "This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry Redirector and BackBerry Handheld. Pleae do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the BlackBerry Redirector."
Redirector shows that it is trying to "verify forwarding address" and has 30 some outstanding emails that it is trying to redirect.Biggest problem is that my Outlook cannot send and emails, and there are three outgoing emails that I cannot find that are clogging up the sending. I think that these RIM emails my be the culprit. I had this problem a month ago and it mysteriously cleared up after 7 days.
Brand new devices.I have a problem with auto complete text. Once I transfer language from eng to other language with the keyboard shortcut (alt+enter ) the auto text stops working. Furthermore, the option box just disappears from the menu (options - text and languages ) !. Reset by battery removal fixes the problem.But, onces you repeat the above action the auto text complete disappears again...Some bug is there.... tried it with all 5 devices of my office.I contacted my provider- they were not aware of the problem and I demonstrated it to them. They dont know how to solve it...

- A second problem is the SMS notification, that appears as a wild sequence of TV commercials would do during your favorite tv show : very annoying, whatever the circumstances. The popup forbids me to do anything quietly and peacefully, i'm interrupted and have to click on it in order to make it disappear. (I don't care if Mr X is harassing me while i'm browsing the web)

I can only delete facebook messages on my device and then I have to go onto my Hotmail separately to delete emails.All other emails delete on both Hotmail and Bold 9700.Anyone who can tell me a way to delete facebook emails and notifications on my bold and hotmail at the same time will be a great help?

Currently, I have to click 'mark prior unopened' in order to erase the yellow mail icon with the red star -- so that the icon doesn't show up in the status bar.
I'd prefer to not see this notification at all. Same with facebook notifications. Haven't found the settings for these.
Is there any way to set the Bold 9700 so I don't see any visual notifications for email?
Hi just wondering when i receive notifications on facebook my phone doesnt beep to say that i have a notification i have looked in the sound profile settings and changed the facebook setting but still no luck. I recieve emails without no problem phone beeps to say that i have a new email. Is anyone else having this problem with facebook.
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded from bold 9000 to 9700. I upgraded my OS to version .743. After that, I stopped getting visual voice mail notifications. The message is there when I dial "1", but doesn't show up at all under the VVM menu, nor do I get the visual indication(s). It did work on the AT&T OS out of the box. Second issue with this O.S.- phone does not lock when it is in the holster. I have to believe both these issues are with the .743 version of the OS, but I may be missing something. I've read others with the VVM problem, not none of the threads seem to offer a solution except to say that AT&T WAS having issues with this back in November.

When they sent replys they all got each others reply to read. I didn't want that. That is whey I sent it the way that I did instead of sending it as a GROUP message. Is there a setting in CHOMP or the regular app to make it so everyone does not see each others replys?
