View 7 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I have a new email, sms, and BBM, the LED will shut off or stop blinking after a certain amount of time. I was just curious to see if this was a glitch with my phone, or it was a bold 9700 thing. Or it was just something normal?
Thanks a lot
I want the 9700 to blink red only when I have something of attention. Please help, I do have IM+ installed on the 9700...I've turned off the LED network coverage, etc etc...and yet even when I dont have any emails, im's etc....the silly thing STILL blinks..I have Bebuzz loaded which is fine I think...But for the life of me I dont know why it's flashing...

View 9 Replies View Relatedmy blackberry 9700 wont turn on and the red light comes on for a lil than it starts blinking but still wont turn on and the charging lightning bolt wont come on either.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've recently got a brandnew blackberry bold 9700, which I've got one day now and it just won't turn on anymore. I rebooted it because I removed an app, and the only thing it does now is blinking the red led light 4 times in a row. I tried almost everything (apploader, jl_cmder, leave batt out for one hour).

View 1 Replies View Relatednew to blackberry in general. have the bold 9700 and mostly have it on silent so i rely heavily on the red led blinking to signal a missed call. i could have sworn this was always the case cause a vm would generraly acompany the call. the other day the light was green so i thought i was good but in fact i had missed an important call. is this the way it is or is there a setting to have the led blink red with a missed call just like a message.
View 5 Replies View Relatedhow long does the led stay blinking after you receive a text msg?im askin because i have heard ppl say it blinks forever, until you acknowledge the text, but today i got a text at 6 (i was away from bb) but when i came back there was no led blinking. at 10 i got another text i was with my phone so i looked at it, and saw 2 new msgs.. 1 received at 10, the other received at 6
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I installed my BB Desktop Manager and first plugged in my Bold 9700, it asked if I would like to update various features on my phone, to which I accepted. The update froze- I can't remember quite at which stage but I recall it was at the end stages and the stage at which it froze started with JVM. After waiting an hour or so, I disconnected my Blackberry, not knowing what to do. The screen remained black and the red light started blinking.I looked up fixes for the problem and they seemed simple- one used JL_Cmdr to do a full wipe- but I am using Windows 7 and it isn't compatible. I get a brief command prompt screen for a half second before it closes.
The second fix involved using the command prompt to get to the Loader in the AppLoader file- but I ran into another problem- when trying to open Loader.exe, I got a "The Application Loader requires the Blackberry Device Manager to be installed." Then looking up THAT fix, I downloaded a new OS and redownloaded the Desktop Manager, but am getting the same error.
I have a brand new bold 9700 and I can't understand what this icon means (it is in top right corner when I calling). There is no any info in user manuals and on forum.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a blackberry bold 9700 and its been fine for a month or so, all of a sudden after it has been working fine in the morning it stopped calling and sending texts, i cant receive anything either.
BBM works fine, internet works fine and email its just the calls and texts in and out????
I have restored the phone and done all necessary updates but it still doesn't work, the SIM card is fine as ive put it in another phone and it does everything it should.
Is there a way to disable the lock and mute buttons on the top of the BlackBerry Bold 9700? I just received my new windshield cradle that grips it from top and bottom, and the buttons are invariable pressed accidentally for a variety of reasons. Perhaps an application that can shut them off, or some type if setting?
View 8 Replies View RelatedBeen a while since I posted on here but I just got my new 9700 last week. Is there anyway I can disable the top buttons? I listen to a lot of music and when the phone is in my pocket I keep muting the music by accident and its really annoying.Glad to be back! Been on a dumbphone for almost a year now but the 9700 is surpassing all my expectations!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI know this might sound weird, but... I realize that I am addicted to the internet and spend too much time on it, and want to purposefully restrict myself by NOT being able to access the internet at all on my Blackberry Bold 9700.I don't have a data plan, but I log onto my landlord's WiFi using the password he gave me. Therefore, I have internet access through WiFi, but I would like to either get rid of that ability altogether, or find a way to password-protect the browsers (the regular browser and Opera).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've read the other posts but couldn't disable the IT policy. It's probably because I couldn't use the CrackUtil. It just doesn't work.Maybe it's because of this "os" thing. What is os? How do I see if I have os 4.3 or better? In the "about" screen is written:v5.0.0.442 (platform 5.1.0.121) - does it mean that I don't have the right os? As you can see - I don't understand too much, but I do want to get rid from the annoying password.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI know BBSAK allows a factory reset which disables the firewall. My past three BlackBerrys have been new from the store with firewall enabled. This prevents some apps such as Ubertwitter or Qik from working-- it gives an error about the IT policy (even though there is none)
BBSAK disables the firewall yes, but as soon as you reload your backup, the IT policy reloads itself. So my question is, when you load your backup, how do you selectively UNSELECT your previous firewall settings? Which option is it? I don't want to have to manually put everything back again.
If anyone knows how to disable the firewall WITHOUT erasing all my personal stuff, I'd appreciate it.
And no this is not a BES phone, there is NO it policy, it was not purchased used, etc etc.
I can't stand how the bold 9700 has a screen lock button on top of it- on my old curve i set the side convenience button as the screen lock and to unlock the screen i had to hit two keys (since i didn't set a PW)... now all i have to do his hit the top button-- i've pocket dialed a bunch of people now just by accidentally pressing this button- is there any way to disable this top screen lock button?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAnother problem with my new 5230: I have a pre-paid card (Pay and Go, Proximus, Belgium).I left my phone standby (and ... the battery still doesn't last 1 day, see other post) all day.I checked the amount of pre-paid credit I had in the morning.
I checked again a few hours later (and I did not use the phone): credit is decreased !Checked again a few hours later: credit still decreases. this is becoming very expensive (few Euro's a day) so here are my questions:
-anyone any idea what can cause this?
-anyone any idea how I can find out what causes this when no-one knows? ;-)
-how can I disable ALL possible "auto-connections" ?
