I just received my new windshield cradle that grips it from top and bottom, and the buttons are invariable pressed accidentally for a variety of reasons. Perhaps an application that can shut them off, or some type if setting?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI know this might sound weird, but... I realize that I am addicted to the internet and spend too much time on it, and want to purposefully restrict myself by NOT being able to access the internet at all on my Blackberry Bold 9700.I don't have a data plan, but I log onto my landlord's WiFi using the password he gave me. Therefore, I have internet access through WiFi, but I would like to either get rid of that ability altogether, or find a way to password-protect the browsers (the regular browser and Opera).

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've read the other posts but couldn't disable the IT policy. It's probably because I couldn't use the CrackUtil. It just doesn't work.Maybe it's because of this "os" thing. What is os? How do I see if I have os 4.3 or better? In the "about" screen is written:v5.0.0.442 (platform 5.1.0.121) - does it mean that I don't have the right os? As you can see - I don't understand too much, but I do want to get rid from the annoying password.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI know BBSAK allows a factory reset which disables the firewall. My past three BlackBerrys have been new from the store with firewall enabled. This prevents some apps such as Ubertwitter or Qik from working-- it gives an error about the IT policy (even though there is none)
BBSAK disables the firewall yes, but as soon as you reload your backup, the IT policy reloads itself. So my question is, when you load your backup, how do you selectively UNSELECT your previous firewall settings? Which option is it? I don't want to have to manually put everything back again.
If anyone knows how to disable the firewall WITHOUT erasing all my personal stuff, I'd appreciate it.
And no this is not a BES phone, there is NO it policy, it was not purchased used, etc etc.
I can't stand how the bold 9700 has a screen lock button on top of it- on my old curve i set the side convenience button as the screen lock and to unlock the screen i had to hit two keys (since i didn't set a PW)... now all i have to do his hit the top button-- i've pocket dialed a bunch of people now just by accidentally pressing this button- is there any way to disable this top screen lock button?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have no idea what's going on with my camera, when I open it, it keeps showing me a black screen and keep loading.
but my problem isn't like the others, cos it didn't show me message like, "Could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening camera again".
For some reason my camera does not start up. I'm presented with this message:
"could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening camera again"
Did 2 battery pulls with no success. Recently updated berryweather, but I doubt that's the problem.
I can't find the option to silence the click sound when I take a picture.I have the camera on silent too.

Close other applications and try opening the camera again.'I've tried to do some research on this problem and all I've found relates to not having enough free space or the camera lense becoming loose. I've checked my free space and I think I have enough and I've tried pressing on my camera lense with no suceess. There are definitely no applications running. I've tried restoring my phone to old backups and then updating but still no luck.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA couple weeks ago I updated my Bold 9700 to OS 6.0 Bundle 1964 - v6.0.0.461. So far, I love it except that my camera was at first quite flakey and now will not work at all. I'm geting black screen, or gives me the error 'could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the camera again'. The video Camera does the same; loads with grey screen and errors with 'Cannot start video camera viewfinder'.
So Far I have:
-deleted all apps shown in BB App World (Wondering if another app was trying to use Camera)
-removed the battery to reboot multiple times
-Reseated my SD card - I can view SD card through phone for picture/music so it does work
-Re-installed OS6 through Desktop software (Update my device -> View other versions -> Install)
-Rolling back to 5.0.0.xxx
-Chang the camera in tech store.
