I've tried going into: Options>SMS>Disable Auto Text>Save. It doesn't work. Is there another way to disable this fucnction? I get tired of seeing the box with word suggestions as I type messages.

There's no auto phone book function in 9700? For example, I saved a contact 12345678. Hence, from the main screen when I pressed 123, the contact I had saved earlier didn't show up. Is that a common problem of 9700?

All of the help instructions include steps and/or menu options that are not available on my phone. For example, I can do Options, Language and Text Options, but "Show Text Input Options" does not appear. I also cannot get to the referenced check box anywhere for Predictive Text Input. Can anyone help please?

Once I transfer language from eng to other language with the keyboard shortcut (alt+enter ) the auto text stops working. Furthermore, the option box just disappears from the menu (options - text and languages ) !. Reset by battery removal fixes the problem.But, onces you repeat the above action the auto text complete disappears again...Some bug is there.... tried it with all 5 devices of my office.I contacted my provider- they were not aware of the problem and I demonstrated it to them. They dont know how to solve it...

View 13 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9000 that started out with the original Rogers operating system some time in 2008. I've upgraded it through various 4.6 (or is it 4.7?) OS versions and I'm now on 5.0.0.662 (I haven't gone to .681 yet mostly because I keep forgetting). On every single version of 5.0 I've tried (Wind, Azercell, etc) I have run into two problems.
1. The camera takes pictures that are way too bright when using the flash. It's like it doesn't reduce the exposure time when the flash is on - almost every flash picture is totally white. This happens in auto flash and when you force the flash on. Pictures without the flash work the way you'd expect them to.
2. I can't snooze the alarm using a side key while it's in the holster any more. The alarm ringtone starts playing, I press the volume up or down key while the phone is still in the holster. On OS 4.6, this would cause the alarm to snooze for ten minutes. On OS 5.0 it just restarts the alarm sound! Totally pointless. This is especially annoying for me as I need to take pills on a 12 hour basis and so I have alarms going off at least twice a day, every day.
Where can I disable auto start functions in apps through my blackberry? I would like to start my own apps and control battery life.

I also get an option to change it to a correct word but I have to press the middle button to do so. The last time I had a blackberry in 2008 (Pearl), I think it was called T9 or something, but it automatically replaced my mispelled words as I typed. How can I enable this on my Blackberry Bold 9700?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I switch on the camera application the track pad doesn't zoom anymore like it used to. The track pad on the screen shows only the + sign on top of the tracking pad but the - sign has disappeared, in the panel it shows zoom at 1.0x. I have pressed the accessory bottom and the function for zoom in and out have disappeared as well. The letter commands on the key board for zooming in and out don't work either. I would appreciate any assistance I can get.

View 7 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated the softward on my device (about a week ago) my lock function doesn't work. I have set all the same securities as before (Options/Password/Enable) however when I push the "Lock" button on the top of the device it only locks they keypad. If I push it again it simply unlocks the device, it does not prompt for a password. I have to wait for the device to reach it's security time out before there is a password prompt to unlock.

It's not something that you can even really see unless you move it back and forth under a light (and I'm not that vain) but it got me wondering about the possibility of deeper scratches possibly affecting the function of the track pad?? I have babied this thing for the last week, and still got a fine surface scratch, so more heavy usage could possibly result in deeper scratches down the road. Although a very fine surface scratch might not affect the function, could a deeper one affect it?? And if that happens, how easily can the track pad be changed out by a local technician (or yourself)?

But when I use the google search widget or anything else that isn't text or email it doesn't show up. Basically if I'm using the keyboard but not typing a text message or an email the predictive text doesn't show up.
