My Xperia Z3 started locking on its own, when I unlock it after 5 seconds or so it will lock again. I tried restarting it but it 'didn't work, it wont connect to the PC companion either so I cant run any updates. It still charges but wont connect to anything, I cant even access the settings because it locks as soon as I try to access it.

My first issue is - as part of policy, I must have a strong password and my phone auto locks after 30 minutes. When I make calls, even 3 second phone calls, the phone will lock after I hang up.
My second issue is kind of linked to the first - when my phone is connected to my Sony Car Stereo, it disables the keyboard so I cannot type (obviously a safety feature), which is fine because I do not drive and text/email etc. except that after I take a call, I cannot unlock my phone to allow me to make another call.
Is there any way that I can stop the lock button from locking the screen. I find my left hand is to close to the button. Can the phone be set so that when the phone is put into the holster it would lock the screen.

Every time I flip open my phone, it takes anywhere from 5 to 30 seconds to respond. The clock will still be showing the time from when I last used it. Took the phone to Sprint and they fixed it for a couple weeks, but they said if it starts happening again I would have to deal with Blackberry.

Then shoes "Emergency Nos Only". It won't receive texts but I am able to send them. Calls appear to be working ok other than I had a couple of missed calls yesterday which apparently rang once and then said phone is switched off. I have done a reset but it's still the same.I've also had a problem with apps appearing on the home screen without me putting them there - I had four digital clocks on it yesterday. Is this a software problem?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAlmost every day my phone is very slow to respond, hangs (like Windows XP used to do), the screen won't stay on long enough for me to swipe my security pattern, etc. It's very aggravating and had been for the last two phones (HTC DNA, Samsung S6 Edge) and in very close to jumping ship to either Apple or Microsoft (ugh, I shudder at the thought).
What can I do to find out what is affecting my phone or is this something I can expect from an Android phone on the Verizon network?

I have noticed though you hang up the call when pressing the powerbutton, with this setting i cant lock the screen while in a call with headphones. View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen i lock the phone with the slider on the right side, the screen used to go black (or any screensaver would go on, if activated).Suddenly, when locking the phone, nothing happens. the screen dimms a little bit, but it's still on. It doenst matter weather i activate any kind of screensaver, the display always stays on (the keys are locked, i also see the locked sign in the menu bar). When i restart the phone, nothing changes.Only when I take out the battery for a while, the screen saver comes back up again. Everything seems to be working fine, until the next restart. Then the same problem happens again.

when I unlock my phone I have to press the * key and the green cann button, I was wondering if there's a way to change it so I can press the mute button ontop of my phone to lock and unlock it, I know it sounds weird but I'm used to doing it that way on my old phones.

So when I lock my phone, the screen SHOULD lock too, but it still clicks when I touch it which is bad because I have actually called people while it is in my pocket hitting my leg. Is there a reason for the screen not locking?

This allows me to keep it from locking while in the car or at home and then when disconnected it goes into the lock mode based on time frame selected as in when leaving the car and no longer connected to the bluetooth.
Having to enter the PIN every time I want to access the phone at home ( after time out ) is a pain. I would assume the app would be able to "disable" the lock timeout function when connected to specified wifi or bluetooth connections.
i recently upgraded my x10i to android 2.1, everytime i press the power button to lock the screen it disconnect me from my network, no service message appears, so everytime i press the power button again to unlock the screen i have to enter my pincode and reconnect again, hence, i dont recieve any messages and calls whenever i lock the screen or when screen times out?

Unfortunately the phone is unusable as it keeps either turning itself off, or totally locking up (I'm not sure which). It won't re-awaken using either the on/off switch or the home button. Also the camera performance, my x10 mini camera is far better than the mini pro. but the main issue here is the device sk17i turns itself off.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI purchased my N97 about a year ago and I absolutely adore it. I haven't run into any problems until last week. When I turn on my phone, enter the unlock code and use it to do whatever I need to do, it works fine. However, if I lock the phone or let the backlight shut off, it won't turn back on and neither do the lights on the number keys. Here is the funny part: If I press the power key (as if I were to change my profile) the backlight turns on, allowing me to see the screen, but the number keys don't light up! Does anyone know what I can do?
I'm not very tech savvy (so please don't laugh if my solutions are completely wrong), but here are some of the things I have done to try and rectify the problem:
- Let the battery drain completely and charged it in the hopes that it would rectify itself like it has in the past with other issues
- Took out the battery, SIM card and memory card just to make sure everything was inserted properly
- Restored the phone to factory settings
I had to do a software update (obviously) because most of the features on my phone were not working, including the proximity sensor. Since updating it yesterday (9.6.10) I have had even more trouble. I can no longer set a password for when locking my phone. This is hugely inconvenient as security is one of the most important features for me. The only time it prompts a password is when the phone switches on. Also, when locking the phone, whatever was displayed before locking remains displayed, it just disables the ability to edit. Thus defeating the object.
When I locked my phone I liked the fact that whatever I was doing was hidden, and a password was necessary to access it! Finally, the proximity sensor to my holster is still malfunctioning. It activates when the phone is 3/4 of the way in, but the screen is then switched back on, along with full keyboard function when it is fully in the case. Thus also removing the ability to "lock upon holstering". I'm not happy with this software update and please tell me there is a fix for it, because I'm ready to throw this thing away.
