Nokia Nseries :: 808 Display Doesn't Go Off After Locking The Phone?
Oct 9, 2012
When i lock the phone with the slider on the right side, the screen used to go black (or any screensaver would go on, if activated).Suddenly, when locking the phone, nothing happens. the screen dimms a little bit, but it's still on. It doenst matter weather i activate any kind of screensaver, the display always stays on (the keys are locked, i also see the locked sign in the menu bar). When i restart the phone, nothing changes.Only when I take out the battery for a while, the screen saver comes back up again. Everything seems to be working fine, until the next restart. Then the same problem happens again.
Is this a known bug (couldn't find anything on goole)? Am I doing anything wrong? It's driving me really crazy to see my Display on all the time (I also don't want to take out the battery after every restart).I also have to say that this happens to me on FP1 and FP2, even on a 2nd phone.
My 701 running on belle fp1 doesn't turn off the display after locking the phone? It's just keeps the display always on.Restarting solves the problem but this is happening again and again.
There seems to be a bug with remote locking on the E5 (where you send a text message with a pre-defined keyword to lock the phone if lost/stolen, etc) - it works, but then keeps requesting the lock code when switched on, even after it has been entered correctly. Disabling remote locking stops lock code request at startup but then you can't lock it remotely! Re-enabling remote locking makes the problem continue, even if lock code is changed in the mean time.Nokia customer services were useless and didn't understand what I was talking about.
Either when making a call or receiving one, the screen goes black so you can't answer or hang up. Pressing any of the keys makes no difference whatsoever.
Once the caller cancels the call, the screen lights back up. It happens whether the keypad is locked or not.
Really strange, it's only intermittent but really annoying when you can't answer your phone?
My z3 is abt 6 months old. Recently I locked my phone and tried unlocking it but the screen never turned on though I can see the screen lighting up a bluish colour but the display doesn't appear. I have to switch off the phone for around half an hour and restart for it to work.
I've just enabled the remote phone locking feature on my S60 mobile device; that is the message text to be sent via SMS to lock the phone and the security code (default 12345).I've sent several times from another mobile phone the security text message via SMS keeping in mind that it is case sensitive. Unfortunately when I receive the lock SMS on my S60 device it does not work. The message arrives as a normal SMS; it is possible to read its content as in case of normal short text messages. What could be the problem? Can you help me to figure it out?
I was not navigating, just using the map function and discovered there doesn't appear to be an option to force the gps to use heads up orientation whereby the map displays in the direction you are traveling. It does this if navigating however. What am I missing here and what orientation mode was the map only function using.
My N8 doesnt show any information like the number who is calling, and if the caller is saved in my contacts it still doesnt show any info when that person calls. when someone call it just display "call". is there a settings to fix this? this feature of every cellphone is extremely important im suprised my N8 doesnt have this. i have to ask "who's this" everytime
I was talking with the Rogers representative here in Canada, and he says the Lumia 900 doesn't support Name Display (as opposed to Caller ID). Is this true? Could it be possibly added via firmware changes?
I purchased my N97 about a year ago and I absolutely adore it. I haven't run into any problems until last week. When I turn on my phone, enter the unlock code and use it to do whatever I need to do, it works fine. However, if I lock the phone or let the backlight shut off, it won't turn back on and neither do the lights on the number keys. Here is the funny part: If I press the power key (as if I were to change my profile) the backlight turns on, allowing me to see the screen, but the number keys don't light up! Does anyone know what I can do?
I'm not very tech savvy (so please don't laugh if my solutions are completely wrong), but here are some of the things I have done to try and rectify the problem: - Let the battery drain completely and charged it in the hopes that it would rectify itself like it has in the past with other issues - Took out the battery, SIM card and memory card just to make sure everything was inserted properly - Restored the phone to factory settings
I have noticed an annoying feature with my Nokia N8: The display goes black when in a call (holding the phone to my ear). When the call is finished I have a difficulty to close the call. Is this a Nokia special feature for saving battery that can be turned off or is it an error?
I've Nokia N79 Having Problem With Screen I've installed Ovi store and Upgraded fw on v32 suddenly the phones screen gets blinking in definite period of 7sc I've reflshed phone, changed settings, hard reset, soft reset, and many more.. But problem still presents. Should I replace display? Or display adapter?
i updated my N8 and C7 to belle I like it but since iv updated when I receive a call now my caller ID pictures do not display. I'v tried resyncing more than once, tried re doing my contact pictures still no good...
Which regions of Nokia 808 pureview support display of traditional Chinese characters? Can the singapore model display that? Input support would be nice but not essential.
My Lumia 610 doesn't display notification (unread messages) for outlook when the screen is locked. However it does display the notification such as missed calls, text messages, face book messages, Gmails, Yahoo emails, Windows live emails. But nothing for Outlook.
I thought I had read somewhere before that the locking security feature still allows someone to answer an incoming call, if it's set to lock. I tried it yesterday, and it's true. I don't know about anybody else, but I thought that if I locked my phone....I locked all aspects of it.
what the actual dimensions are of a 3.5" 16:9 display? (i.eactual length and width).I'm looking to replace my E52 with a 701 online so view-before-you buy isn't an option (tried Nokia "Customer Care" but useless as always)
just bought it today, no more stock to exchange throughout Malaysia, now I've to go to NCC to get it fixed the purple screen... WTH! it's a repeated problem, it already haunted many N8 (including one of the 2 I own), now this one again... quality dropped..
So I re configured the mail boxes as the Nokia Flagship N97 mini thrashed these. Yet after going through The Wizard of Ovi settings the mailboxes don't work as advertised nor as before. It downloads the headers correctly (although not complete) but opening an E-Mail instead of displaying the message shows an error message: Unable to display the rest of message.
In what way do I correctly open E-Mails on the N97 Mini?
I am a Chinese nokia user with an European version of N8 because I am in France now. Recently I've updated my n8 to symbian anna and unfortunately I cannot see Chinese text messages from my friends. All the Chinese characters become small squares. In the language settings of the phone, I can only see English, French, Spanish.....All of them are European languages. I heard that only Asian versions of Nokia can support Chinese, I don't know why Nokia carries out this god damned **bleep**ing policy but can anyone show some tips to me in how to make Chinese charaters appear again on my N8?
I am still on Belle. In the month view of the calendar, the little triangles on the days with appointments are all blue. Why will they not show as a differe colour even when I am using multiple calendars with only one e.g. Red calendar appointment on the day?
There seems to be a fault in N8 where the screen is fine but if you look closely/in pure white or grey backgrounds I can notice the screen flickering where the lines move from the bottom all the way to the top really fast.
My N8's display always turns totally black when there is an incoming call, or even when thealarm rings. Before can see the caller's name and answer the call, I have to disable the screen's "keylock".I tried to find a point in the phone settings wher I can avoid this, but didn't find any.
Well I have this phone for over 2 years and now I have a big problem with it that won't go away. The screen goes completely into stripes and is unreadable. It just showed up like that and it's always when I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) that this happends and then stays.Once I got rid of it by rebooting the phone almost 10 times or turning it of a whole day but as soon as I use the screen-lock button (slide button on the side) it comes back.
My new 808 is fantastic! However when the display is viewed at an angle of about 20 degrees or more the whites shown become blue. This is more evident when I look at Google homepage because of the white background.
Its been almost 1 1/2 years since I bought Xperia X 8, off late, even after locking the handset, the backlight is getting "ON" and becase of the display the battery is getting drained fast.I did the following steps but still the problem persists
my battery doesn't even last a day regardeless of whether or not I have made a call, started happening this last week or two for no reason. Anything I can do? Not paying nokia loads for a problem they cause in designing it poorly (irreplaceable battery).
Some incoming text messages display a blue question mark when viewing my inbox rather than the text message icon and cannot be opened or read using voice reader.Doesn't seem to relate to network coverage as it has happened when I have had a full signal. It's an intermittent fault but an irritating one.
