My N8 doesnt show any information like the number who is calling, and if the caller is saved in my contacts it still doesnt show any info when that person calls. when someone call it just display "call". is there a settings to fix this? this feature of every cellphone is extremely important im suprised my N8 doesnt have this. i have to ask "who's this" everytime

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have same problem with my C7-00. It was working properly to display all caller id names those are stored with country code using + sign. I came from India to Singapore, changed my SIM, still it was working. After upgrading it with ANNA, it has stopped displaying names in calls, but works for SMS !!
There is no Duplication issue.
When I opened call with Nokia, surprisingly, I was told that this is a new issue they are having. But I am seeing so many people are struggling with it. I used *#7780# & *#7370#, but still same, problem is not resolved.
To c heck if it is subscriber issue, I put my SIM in another same model C7-00, which is still not upgraded with ANNA & there it works. Nokia supporter does not have solution to back to old software.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently bought a new N8. My previous phone was HTC touch diamond 2. In the HTC, you could block the caller id to people not in the contacts list. For example, only people whose numbers were stored on your phone/sim card could see that you were calling. If you called anyone else, it would come up as 'Caller ID Withheld'. But now in my N8, I only have three options. Show caller id, withhold caller id and 'set by network'

Every so often on my N8, I get a call from "someone". All I see is the phone number, with no indication of who it's from. Then I find out it's from someone who should have already been listed in my contacts.
Is there any way to search through contacts by phone number? At least that way I'd know who the call was from, before calling back.
Also, is there anything to do (or not to do) that will minimize this problem? I have multiple phone numbers and email addresses for several people, but I didn't think that would create an issue.
I was not navigating, just using the map function and discovered there doesn't appear to be an option to force the gps to use heads up orientation whereby the map displays in the direction you are traveling. It does this if navigating however. What am I missing here and what orientation mode was the map only function using.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen i lock the phone with the slider on the right side, the screen used to go black (or any screensaver would go on, if activated).Suddenly, when locking the phone, nothing happens. the screen dimms a little bit, but it's still on. It doenst matter weather i activate any kind of screensaver, the display always stays on (the keys are locked, i also see the locked sign in the menu bar). When i restart the phone, nothing changes.Only when I take out the battery for a while, the screen saver comes back up again. Everything seems to be working fine, until the next restart. Im new to the blackberry and have looked around other forums & technical centre and havn't found any way to solve my issues although i did find something about caller id problems.
1) When people send me long SMS i.e over 160 characters long i keep recieving them in separate SMS and it becomes very confusing.i have owned over 7 different phones in the past and this has never been a problem. Is there any way to solve this?
2) Quite often when someone calls me, i only seem to be able to see the callers number and not the Name, this is frustating as i have no idea who is ringing.
I recently upgraded to the Curve 9300 through my company and password locked. When locked the caller id only displays the phone number not the callers name. I had this problem with the 8900 but easily corrected the problem, However, the 9300 does not have the same options.

Yet after going through The Wizard of Ovi settings the mailboxes don't work as advertised nor as before. It downloads the headers correctly (although not complete) but opening an E-Mail instead of displaying the message shows an error message: Unable to display the rest of message.
