I have owned my n900 for about a week and I cant seem to suss something out.When I get a call it doesn't display the caller nor gives the option to take the call - unless I open the keyboard or flick the lock switch on the end.Is there anyway or seeing who's calling and taking the call with out opening the keyboard or flicking the lock switch on the end.
View 13 RepliesIm new to the blackberry and have looked around other forums & technical centre and havn't found any way to solve my issues although i did find something about caller id problems.
1) When people send me long SMS i.e over 160 characters long i keep recieving them in separate SMS and it becomes very confusing.i have owned over 7 different phones in the past and this has never been a problem. Is there any way to solve this?
2) Quite often when someone calls me, i only seem to be able to see the callers number and not the Name, this is frustating as i have no idea who is ringing.
when my phone ring on the N900 i can here the sound & vibrate but i cant see who is calling ,i have to open the slide before i can see who is calling.

All is fine but when the phone is charging , any call received while charging the screen remains blank. the ringtones ,vibration all are working fine. i flashed my software from the service center & the problem was not there but again it appeared.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy N8 doesnt show any information like the number who is calling, and if the caller is saved in my contacts it still doesnt show any info when that person calls. when someone call it just display "call". is there a settings to fix this? this feature of every cellphone is extremely important im suprised my N8 doesnt have this. i have to ask "who's this" everytime
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have same problem with my C7-00. It was working properly to display all caller id names those are stored with country code using + sign. I came from India to Singapore, changed my SIM, still it was working. After upgrading it with ANNA, it has stopped displaying names in calls, but works for SMS !!
There is no Duplication issue.
When I opened call with Nokia, surprisingly, I was told that this is a new issue they are having. But I am seeing so many people are struggling with it. I used *#7780# & *#7370#, but still same, problem is not resolved.
To c heck if it is subscriber issue, I put my SIM in another same model C7-00, which is still not upgraded with ANNA & there it works. Nokia supporter does not have solution to back to old software.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI recently just got my N900 back from Nokia USA repair on the 21st of August 2010. Upon receiving it back, they notified me that they had flashed my phone and installed the latest software updates on it per privacy policy, which is understandable. However, all was fine until I tried making a call, when I realized that the screen no longer automatically shuts off / turns on when either placing it or removing it from my face.When dialing a phone number, the screen automatically shuts off and I have to unlock it from the bottom. It is unresponsive to touches, etc, until I unlock it.
When the screen is on during a phone call, it doesn't shut off unless I lock it from the bottom.When receiving calls, the screen never lights on and I can't see who is calling me unless I unlock the phone first.I have tried flashing it with the latest Maemo 5 USA image, but the problem still persists.
Just got an N900 2 days ago, cant video call or call divert, no video call or call divert in any menu, any suggestions?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have tried and tried to get album artwork to display but can't.The N900 will automatically generate album artwork for certain songs that it "knows" - it will put them in a file with that song. I have copied that file to other songs - put the correct image for that song in the file - but it won't show in the media player - it will show in "Images." How do you get it to show in the media player and not images?

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust recently, for no apparent reason, I have had some serious problems with my N900!When I try to send/receive a message, it comes up with an error every 30secs "Unable to send/receive messages. Device storage full. Free user space." However, device storage is NOT full. Rootfs is at 76%.I have two corrupt messages in Conversations, which cannot be deleted. Pressing Delete or Clear Conversation simply does nothing. I also have about 4 calls in recent calls which do not delete. I belive the database is corrupted, and this is causing the problem.
I CANNOT re-flash at the moment, my USB port is broken. However, I can change anything through SSH or xTerm. Is it possible to simply navigate to the Conversations/Call Logs files through SSH, and delete them, or replace them with virgin ones, to fix this issue??
There is no choice of call forwarding options in the N900. For example one can't forward all calls unconditionally to voicemail or another number and leave your phone on. This is the least expensive option when roaming if you want to leave your phone on, because it doesn't involve paying for two calls when a call is diverted to voicemail.
If you have call forwarding on, you can't stop it from forwarding calls received while busy speaking on another call. I prefer people to get a busy tone.
GSM standard manual forwarding codes (eg *#21#) produce an error message - incorrect number.
Does anybody there knows if is any delivery rapport on n900 maemo5. Just moved from a 9210i to n900 and to be honest I am surprised for good and bad, ex there is no videocall over 3g or im., there is no delivey rapport on sms (good to know if the other party got the message) there is no free document reader, does not support fax (yep some business do like sending faxes), but I as said there is some good too. So there is anybody ho can answer if some of the above will be included in the next update for n900. (I know you will say this is a computer who make phone calls but lets get the advantage of having a better handset as is called MOBILE PHONE)
View 14 Replies View RelatedOne week ago i just bought the nokia N900 with the latest firmware 3.2010.02-8 with maemo 5 installed.I played around with the device and its quite amazing on how this thing can do so much as a small computer but a little thing can do as a phone mobile.
i'm a little bit dissapointed about N900 as a phone mobile, because some of the features not support or i don't know why, for example :
1. first came the N900 don't supported FM radio, but when i download application FM Radio now my N900 can be used for FM Radio
2. N900 don't fully support mms, but there is a tutorial on this forum on how to use mms in N900 using fMMS
3. N900 don't support our local telecomunication dialing pattern such as ( *.....# )
4. N900 don't support Video Call, this is something that N900 very disappointing. All N series can do video call and also there is a front camera.
5. Is the N900 fully support in maemo 6 ( meego )..?
I really hope that The Nokia team can do about this issues, especially for video call which i or even a lot of people using it.
Anyone know of an available app that shows you a missed call/sms/e mail ?

Neither am I able to hear any voice from the other side nor the person on the other side is able to hear me. I hVe to disconnect the call and use SMS or whatsapp. Is there anything I can do to correct it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I call someone or get called, the person on the other end receives nothing but static/disturbance. This is weird as my phone worked perfectly fine before. I can hear my caller perfectly fine, but they cannot hear me. This is high volume rubbish noise, when I shout, a little of voice makes it through, but it's hardly noticeable. Here are a few things I tried:
- Speech recorder: works fine. So it can't be the microphone
- Using headset: My headset filters silence and only 'sends out' voice when it recognizes noise. When Im silent, there is no static. As soon as I speak and the headset registers (and sends) voice, the static on the other end returns.
Is it possible to switch the x3-02 to vibrate only when receiving a call?
