Nokia N900 :: Try To Make Voice Call General Error?
Apr 28, 2010Whenever i try to make a voice call i get General Error. I've tried removing the battery and the SIM but still it's not working.

Put your Nokia N900 on Silent. Now call your mobile and when the calling screen appears hit the loudspeaker key. Clicking this key will cut out even the vibrations on the Nokia N900, but the phone you are calling from will still hear a ringing tone.End the call from the other phone. Now put the Nokia N900 back on General profile. Call the N900 again from another phone. This time you will not hear a ring tone even though you are back on General profile. (I've checked and my volume was on full)
Atleast this is the problem I'm getting at the moment. Apologies if this problem has been covered elsewhere. I've tried to find it but couldnt so will appreciate if someone can paste a link to it here.The problem goes away if you restart the N900, but I'm hoping this problem can be fixed.

Feb 10, 2010My n97 was working perfect til i installed the latest updates, since then all i get when i try to make a call is "connection error" and a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it, I cant receive phone calls either it goes straight to voice mail...The phone was sent to a repair center where they fixed my charging problems, replaced the camera lens and never bothered with the "connection error". Ive sent several emails to Nokia but no response, the phone is almost 6 months old and is on Vodafone, Ive tied another sim card in it and still no joy...Plz help as £300 is not good value for a 6 month old phone,

Mar 10, 2010I have this annoyin problem AGAIN!!! Each time I attempt to make a phone call I get a connection error message and also can't receive or send sms or receive calls but I can get on the net via wifi and wap.The phone has been back to a nokia repair center where they replaced my camera lens (which was OK) and completely ignored my reasons for need of repair...It came back with the exact same errors it went with, I read on here how to do a hard reset which for some reason worked for a day then the phone continued with the connection error. I have sent numerous emails to the so called Nokia Support Center and have yet to receive a reply after 2 months, I've also rang them and have been passed around various places and ended up on the phone with the 1st person I spoke to, none of these people could help me..
I bought the N97 from a seller on eBay and was completely sealed brand new in the box and the seller is unwilling to communicate or help. The phone is sim-locked to vodafone.. It is an original n97 not a clone or copy. I've tried updating to the latest version but ovi updated says it don't exist. Is there anyway to get a replacement handset from Nokia or anyway to force them to respond and help me, or is there anyone out there know what my problem is? Thnx for any help.

Nokia :: 5800 XM Music General Error
Jul 27, 2010This is getting really frustrating.I bought this blue nokia 5800 XM in January (Australia), and in the past month its been giving me trouble.Okay, right now: Running v50.xx..My phone is having a 'general error' when I try and play music in the music player.Only when I find songs via the file manager I can play them..One at a time.This is the second time within a week that its done this!The first time I googled around and found I had to 'hard-reset' then clear my memory card of bad sectors.Done that, it fixed..Until now.This isn't the only problem, at the start of the month my stupid phone would restart itself just for fun, and the alarm doesn't function properly (when I touch/slide to 'snooze' or 'stop' it doesn't respond until a minute later) And the memory card has wiped itself before aswell
I reformatted the entire phone and memory, clean install of firmware and everything but still I get problems? Why? Think I'll go back to my old SE w910i it was much better..No problems with it ever (even after I dropped the battery in water).BTW I think I should have 1yr nokia warranty (does it cover first year from purchase?), but then again all they'll tell me to do is wait my time every week re-formatting the phone.

Jan 15, 2010I have just purchased the new N900 phone. First impression is it looks very good and works well, BUT still lacking the key features of the N96 such as:
Ovi Maps does not provide voice navigation. Java is not supported so such brilliant apps such as the Opera browsers can not be installed onto it. PC suite is not yet available it the phone. So at first glance it is a great phone that could match the IPhone, but more work needs to be done to it to make it the all singing and dancing phone that Nokia needs it to be. If i am wrong on these points could someone point me in the right direction of addressing them

Jul 5, 2010I own a n97 mini which ma bro gifted n the sad thing is tht he sent frm UAE. The problem is when ever i make a call or recieve a call the battery goes down to single point n the mobile shows the battery low msg n shuts off. Its real pain in **bleep**. It works fine when not making or recieving calls. To my surprise i have observed tht the battery runs out immediately when using idea sim, drains lil slow with airtel, vodafone and satys for 24 hrs with docomo sim inside. Can any one let me know atleast wat is the problem. I hav updated the firware to 11.0.045* n i think this is nly da latest.
