Nokia :: N900 - FM Radio - MMS - Video Call Not Supported
Apr 12, 2010One week ago i just bought the nokia N900 with the latest firmware 3.2010.02-8 with maemo 5 installed.I played around with the device and its quite amazing on how this thing can do so much as a small computer but a little thing can do as a phone mobile.
i'm a little bit dissapointed about N900 as a phone mobile, because some of the features not support or i don't know why, for example :
1. first came the N900 don't supported FM radio, but when i download application FM Radio now my N900 can be used for FM Radio
2. N900 don't fully support mms, but there is a tutorial on this forum on how to use mms in N900 using fMMS
3. N900 don't support our local telecomunication dialing pattern such as ( *.....# )
4. N900 don't support Video Call, this is something that N900 very disappointing. All N series can do video call and also there is a front camera.
5. Is the N900 fully support in maemo 6 ( meego )..?
I really hope that The Nokia team can do about this issues, especially for video call which i or even a lot of people using it.

May 23, 2010Does anybody there knows if is any delivery rapport on n900 maemo5. Just moved from a 9210i to n900 and to be honest I am surprised for good and bad, ex there is no videocall over 3g or im., there is no delivey rapport on sms (good to know if the other party got the message) there is no free document reader, does not support fax (yep some business do like sending faxes), but I as said there is some good too. So there is anybody ho can answer if some of the above will be included in the next update for n900. (I know you will say this is a computer who make phone calls but lets get the advantage of having a better handset as is called MOBILE PHONE)

Jun 23, 2010I have recently received a new Nokia N900 and have updated the PC Suite software to V7.1.50.2. When I plug my phone into the PC and try to synchronise the new phone to my PC. (I run Windsow 7 and trying to sync Outlook 2007 Calendar and Contacts). I keep getting the message "The connected device is not supported by PC Sync". I feel like I've stepped back intot he dark ages... And I can not download music or pictures to the phone either. i have not been abvle to do a single thing on this phone and just about ready to give up! I have been talking almost daily to the Nokia Tech Support department who say they are going to refer the problem to more senior development people - and are now challenging me that I don't know what I'm talking about - and call me back during the day when I am not at home!

Feb 24, 2010I'm having trouble connecting fully my N900 to my laptop using the PC Suite software again.I got my phone earlier this month and i managed to connect the phone to the laptop then with no problem, however, yesterday, i reinstalled my windows xp like i do every few months and installed the nokia pc suite to my laptopn and now i am unable to transfer any media files i.e. music, films and such to my phone.i dont get this at all as the pc suite connects to the phone fine as it shows my calendar too and the image of my phone but everytime i transfer some files through Transfers videos section it doesnt recognise any phone. I usually add those media files through My Computer>Device with Removable Storage as an icon of the phone appears there but thats not even there anymore. I also notice on the bottom of main screen of the pc suite this message:Welcome to PC Suite Unfortunately your device is not fully supported by Nokia PC Suite.I dont know what that means and how to resolved it. I have followed every help/how to guide and FAQ i could find with no luck. I did everything correctly when i connected the phone to the laptop and i have installed and reinstalled the pc suite but again no luck.when i hoover over the phone icon on thre system tray of my laptop i noticed that: N900 (Storage Mode) connected in a non-compatible USB mode. is this the problem?

I bought this device right after Nokia announced that free offline navigation would be available for all current N-series handsets.How come that Ovi Maps is not available for the current N-series flagship? Nokia :: N900 / Skype Video Won
Jan 9, 2010First of all, I cannot seem to get the touted video call working through skype. It is a neat feature and I would like to use it. I have read other complain about the poor quality of the webcam, but I cannot seem to get it started, period. How is that done? I don't see any option to make a video call and / or start video during a call. Is it a defective phone, or is it something else?
Secondly, T-mobile lets you dial #646# in order to check your balance, yet the phone says this is an invalid number. Is there any workaround for this?

Aug 12, 2010I have been happily using N900 for Skype video calling.When I first received my phone I was told by my phone company that N900 supports video calling without using Skype(using mobile numbers to other compatible phones via the 3G network)My partner also has a N900 and is not able to make Video Calling either, where when we both had an E72 we had no problems at all.I called Nokia 2 months ago and they said that in Australia, they will have video calling to mobile numbers very soon for the N900. Can anyone at Nokia tell me when this is happening? This was one of the main reasons I bought the N900 as it is promoted to have video calling on 3G as well as Internet (Skype or other).I am keen to use video calling as I work with clients who don't necessarily have Skype, but use video calling nonetheless.

May 24, 2010Is Flash 10.1 with hardware accelerated video coming to Nokia N900? Flash is a CPU hog on the N900 right now and renders the device unresponsive. It would be great if Flash 10.1 were to come to N900. Flash on Maemo was one of the main reasons for choosing N900.Android is getting it with 2.2 (Froyo) and with turn by turn navigation is already ahead of the game.

Jan 25, 2010All photos and videos are very poor quality, somehow blurred, like always to be out of focus.I tried in different light situations, different modes, but no improvement. Nokia :: N900 Corruption In Messages / Call Logs
Jan 21, 2010Just recently, for no apparent reason, I have had some serious problems with my N900!When I try to send/receive a message, it comes up with an error every 30secs "Unable to send/receive messages. Device storage full. Free user space." However, device storage is NOT full. Rootfs is at 76%.I have two corrupt messages in Conversations, which cannot be deleted. Pressing Delete or Clear Conversation simply does nothing. I also have about 4 calls in recent calls which do not delete. I belive the database is corrupted, and this is causing the problem.
I CANNOT re-flash at the moment, my USB port is broken. However, I can change anything through SSH or xTerm. Is it possible to simply navigate to the Conversations/Call Logs files through SSH, and delete them, or replace them with virgin ones, to fix this issue??

Feb 9, 2010I have owned my n900 for about a week and I cant seem to suss something out.When I get a call it doesn't display the caller nor gives the option to take the call - unless I open the keyboard or flick the lock switch on the end.Is there anyway or seeing who's calling and taking the call with out opening the keyboard or flicking the lock switch on the end.

Feb 7, 2010There is no choice of call forwarding options in the N900. For example one can't forward all calls unconditionally to voicemail or another number and leave your phone on. This is the least expensive option when roaming if you want to leave your phone on, because it doesn't involve paying for two calls when a call is diverted to voicemail.
If you have call forwarding on, you can't stop it from forwarding calls received while busy speaking on another call. I prefer people to get a busy tone.
GSM standard manual forwarding codes (eg *#21#) produce an error message - incorrect number.
