Jan 1, 2010when my phone ring on the N900 i can here the sound & vibrate but i cant see who is calling ,i have to open the slide before i can see who is calling.

Nokia :: N900 / Display Caller When Receiving A Call
Feb 9, 2010I have owned my n900 for about a week and I cant seem to suss something out.When I get a call it doesn't display the caller nor gives the option to take the call - unless I open the keyboard or flick the lock switch on the end.Is there anyway or seeing who's calling and taking the call with out opening the keyboard or flicking the lock switch on the end.

Jan 4, 2010The backlighting of my keyboard has completely stopped, along with the notification light. Noticed it a few days ago.I've checked the notification settings and nothing has been changed, but the light no longer works/indicates for any functions. The loss of backlighting for the keyboard is the issue that I find the most concerning. Other than these two issues, I really couldn't be more pleased with my N900 and the Maemo experience.

Jun 25, 2010I had the tour first and since upgrading to .732 since the BOLD has the same software and i now have the bold 9650-verizon. When my phone rings the last callers name will come up first then automatically change to current caller.Has this been happening to anyone?

Apr 26, 2010i realy your help in this one, now i live in Lebanon, and i'm searching for a n900, but the other day my freind told that you can't check for your balance in your phone operartor, is that true, were i live, you need to recharge your phone in before you make phone calls, send messages etc, and to see how much dollars(or what ever its called) you still have in what you have recharged, you need to press *11# and than the green button, and than a message shows up showing you your phone operator balance, is it true that that can't be done on the n900? i like it how i can overclock the n900 from 600 mhz to 1000 mhz in less than 30 sec.

Nokia :: 5230 Light Sensor - Software To Screen Brightness Based On Light Sensor Readings?
Jan 10, 2010I've just bought a 5230 and I'm really annoyed that I don't have the functionality my E51 had where if it was really dark the screen would dim down. This is an important thing to me since I tend to read at night and I dislike having to go all the way to settings and so on.
Do you know any piece of software that could change screen brightness based on the light sensor readings?I'm just amazed the phone software doesn't do that on its own but hey s60v5 is worse than s60v3...

Feb 11, 2010I've just returned to being a loyal Nokia user after 16 years of absence and now I'm being driven mad as I don't seem to be able to see caller ID's for people calling me.I have only numbers stored on my phonebook and not accessing dual contact lists e.g. SIM and phone book.

Jun 20, 2010When I call someone, people on the other end can't see my number. I checked the settings where you get 3 options. Send caller-ID, don't send caller-ID or let the network decide. Obviously "don't send" won't send it, but the other 2 options don't work either.If I select "yes" the other end still sees "private number".Is there any other option I'm overlooking?

Jan 26, 2010you have N97 locked(screen off) with that side lock or get locked after leaving it unused for a few minutes.Someone calls and it rings but doesn't tell you who is calling until you have to unlock it using side lock or sliding it up and chances are that you will miss a call Why is it that the 'call' doesn't "activate" the homescreen just like it's on N95? Is this a bug or am I alone on this?

Mar 11, 2010My phone was recently exchanged under warranty for a number of faults.. one of which was that on occasions, I cannot hear the caller, but they can hear me.
Hang up the call. the caller calls back and everything is OK.
So today, my exchanged phone did the same thing.
Is this another software bug ?

Jul 14, 2011Yesterday my Nokia N8 said a new SW update was available and if I wanted to update, which I accepted. However after the update, every time I make or receive a call the Caller name doesn't show up in the screen, however when I go to the calls list the names show up...
PS: Before the update was working fine, I have only the memory phone being used and I don't have any duplicate contacts.

Aug 23, 2010I have just bought an E66 and am having problems with getting the caller ID function to work.I have stored my contacts with the country code before the number. However, when people call me, it does not show them as a saved contact, it just shows the number.This is frustrating and is a continuation of a long list of problems with my E66. I would say that the E66 is not the best phone I have used from Nokia.Can anyone please offer some suggestions on how to make my saved contacts show up on screen when they are calling me?

For example I have added my home number as a contact, as well as my partners mobile, and both phones when they ring it comes up as "call" and then if I miss the call, it states (no number). And I know for a fact both of these numbers are not private. Is there a setting I need to change to make the number display? Sep 18, 2011I have same problem with my C7-00. It was working properly to display all caller id names those are stored with country code using + sign. I came from India to Singapore, changed my SIM, still it was working. After upgrading it with ANNA, it has stopped displaying names in calls, but works for SMS !!
There is no Duplication issue.
When I opened call with Nokia, surprisingly, I was told that this is a new issue they are having. But I am seeing so many people are struggling with it. I used *#7780# & *#7370#, but still same, problem is not resolved.
To c heck if it is subscriber issue, I put my SIM in another same model C7-00, which is still not upgraded with ANNA & there it works. Nokia supporter does not have solution to back to old software.
