Nokia Navigation :: Gps (my Loction) Does Not Seem To Locate Any Satelite?
Apr 9, 20111) the gps (my loction) does not seem to locate any satelite. when i open "satlite info" i just see littles gray lines go up and down but it always say "wating for gps..". i drive into open space,drive a lot...nothing.if there any software that i can increes the power of my gps? i thnik my service provider just ruin the gps settings, so i will use thier service that cost a alot of money.

Nokia Navigation :: While Navigation Compas Does Not Orientate
Dec 12, 2011Maps 3.08 does not let me calibrate my compass (at least not by ticking once or twice at the compass). By consequence, while navigating it does not orientate the display with the top in the forward direction. I found a workaround by using a separate compass application, calibrate the compass there, and then Maps works perfect. There must be a easier way to calibrate the compass from within the Maps application.

Apr 12, 2010One thing has been bugging me lately, namely I can't locate the cities folder anymore when I browse the memory card with PC Suite FileManager. Has it changed its place or what has happened? I don't see it on phone internal memory either. I have downloaded the maps for the whole world, and several voice files. Earlier I could always see the cities folder, not anymore.Nokia E66 (actually two), one has OVI Maps 3.01 while the other has 3.03. I don't think I've seen cities folder in either, but right now I can check it only with OVI Maps 3.01. The qf file can be found in the root, though. The memory card in both is Nokia's MU-44 16Gb memory card.
On the other hand, PC Suite Map Loader, as well as OVI Map Loader, seem to detect there are maps in the phone, and they also let me delete the maps from there.OVI Maps (3.01 and 3.03) is working in both phones, also in offline mode. The only exceptional thing I can think of is that I have downloaded the maps to both phones with PC Suite (Map Loader), not OVI Suite. This is simply because with OVI Suite map loader there always seem to be connection problems with downloading. But like said, OVI Suite also detects the maps on the phone.This wouldn't matter otherwise, but when I decide to re-download some maps, I'd rather delete the cities folder completely and the qf file manually, than trusting Map Loaders slower "delete all maps" function.

Aug 6, 2010Navigation used to work fine on my X6, but since having to do a hard reset of the phone (due to other problems!) I cannot use the Navigation.
Everytime I get the error 'navigation cannot start at this location' and it doesn't seem like the phone can ever pick up my location.I have tried un-installing and re-installing the application but to no-avail!I haven't even wasted my time calling Nokia Support, as they are totally useless!

Aug 22, 2012getting very frustrated with this now. I have given my dad my N95 to help him get around but just cant get the map navigation to work. I downloaded the Nokia Map Loader (I had to go to a third party website as the Nokia links were all broken) and have the map/voices but when my dad tries to use the navigation it tells him he has to pay.Obviously, I know that Nokia have now made these services free to complete with other company's devices, I'm just being stupid and not going to the right place to download them. May 8, 2010I am using a nokia 5230 with maps 3.03.When i click on my position inside the app it doesn't locate any satellites, the bottom where the bars are there is only one yellow flashing light.When i click a location and select drive to, it just gets stuck on waiting for GPS and the yellow light for satellites keeps blinking and im outside without any cloud cover!.
Also one more thing, i downloaded the male_us voice pack, what folder do i put it in for it to show up? i tried putting it in E:citiesmale_us and in E:citiesdiskcachemale_us and E:citiesdiskcacheviocesmale_us and none of them show up in the options where you slect them.it still prompts me to download them.i don't have a data plan and this phone doesn't support WIFI.

Obviously "don't send" won't send it, but the other 2 options don't work either.If I select "yes" the other end still sees "private number".Is there any other option I'm overlooking?

Jan 26, 2010you have N97 locked(screen off) with that side lock or get locked after leaving it unused for a few minutes.Someone calls and it rings but doesn't tell you who is calling until you have to unlock it using side lock or sliding it up and chances are that you will miss a call Why is it that the 'call' doesn't "activate" the homescreen just like it's on N95?
