1) the gps (my loction) does not seem to locate any satelite. when i open "satlite info" i just see littles gray lines go up and down but it always say "wating for gps..". i drive into open space,drive a lot...nothing.if there any software that i can increes the power of my gps? i thnik my service provider just ruin the gps settings, so i will use thier service that cost a alot of money.

Maps 3.08 does not let me calibrate my compass (at least not by ticking once or twice at the compass). By consequence, while navigating it does not orientate the display with the top in the forward direction. I found a workaround by using a separate compass application, calibrate the compass there, and then Maps works perfect. There must be a easier way to calibrate the compass from within the Maps application.
View 8 Replies View RelatedOne thing has been bugging me lately, namely I can't locate the cities folder anymore when I browse the memory card with PC Suite FileManager. Has it changed its place or what has happened? I don't see it on phone internal memory either. I have downloaded the maps for the whole world, and several voice files. Earlier I could always see the cities folder, not anymore.Nokia E66 (actually two), one has OVI Maps 3.01 while the other has 3.03. I don't think I've seen cities folder in either, but right now I can check it only with OVI Maps 3.01. The qf file can be found in the root, though. The memory card in both is Nokia's MU-44 16Gb memory card.
On the other hand, PC Suite Map Loader, as well as OVI Map Loader, seem to detect there are maps in the phone, and they also let me delete the maps from there.OVI Maps (3.01 and 3.03) is working in both phones, also in offline mode. The only exceptional thing I can think of is that I have downloaded the maps to both phones with PC Suite (Map Loader), not OVI Suite. This is simply because with OVI Suite map loader there always seem to be connection problems with downloading. But like said, OVI Suite also detects the maps on the phone.This wouldn't matter otherwise, but when I decide to re-download some maps, I'd rather delete the cities folder completely and the qf file manually, than trusting Map Loaders slower "delete all maps" function.
My N97 was stolen today. I registered on OVI using that phone. Is there a way that I can locate my cellphone when the person who stole uses it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedNavigation used to work fine on my X6, but since having to do a hard reset of the phone (due to other problems!) I cannot use the Navigation.
Everytime I get the error 'navigation cannot start at this location' and it doesn't seem like the phone can ever pick up my location.I have tried un-installing and re-installing the application but to no-avail!I haven't even wasted my time calling Nokia Support, as they are totally useless!
getting very frustrated with this now. I have given my dad my N95 to help him get around but just cant get the map navigation to work. I downloaded the Nokia Map Loader (I had to go to a third party website as the Nokia links were all broken) and have the map/voices but when my dad tries to use the navigation it tells him he has to pay.Obviously, I know that Nokia have now made these services free to complete with other company's devices, I'm just being stupid and not going to the right place to download them. I receive a "PC Sync was unable to locate your Outlook message store" error message. By searching this board, it appears that this is a fairly common problem. I have never had any nokia products on it prior to my attempts.Connecting via USB (no errrors or problems reported with this).Does anyone have a bonafide solution for this? This really sounds like buggy software to me.

Yesterday, I was trying to locate a place (London) using Ovi maps and I got completely lost. I never had such a problem before with google maps which pinpoint my location much more precisely (using EDGE) than Ovi maps using GPS. Overall very happy. Does Drive have turn by turn navigation wih specific names and exits? Right now it only says stuff like "turn now".
I am using a nokia 5230 with maps 3.03.When i click on my position inside the app it doesn't locate any satellites, the bottom where the bars are there is only one yellow flashing light.When i click a location and select drive to, it just gets stuck on waiting for GPS and the yellow light for satellites keeps blinking and im outside without any cloud cover!.
Also one more thing, i downloaded the male_us voice pack, what folder do i put it in for it to show up? i tried putting it in E:citiesmale_us and in E:citiesdiskcachemale_us and E:citiesdiskcacheviocesmale_us and none of them show up in the options where you slect them.it still prompts me to download them.i don't have a data plan and this phone doesn't support WIFI.
I have a Nokia 500 with Belle installed (vers: 111.021.0028) and Nokia Suite vers 3.6.36.On the 17.12.2012 I've installed the latest version of Romania maps: 00.02.47.103 and since then I get the same error message 'car navigation cannot start at this location'. I can access the maps, I get the correct position but the problem occurs when I try to navigate to any address. It doesn't seem to have an actual issue with the location because I've tried several locations in Bucharest and got the same error.

The first application consuming 6MB of ram just stays in the ram until I reboot. Thus reducing the precious free ram. This was not the case with earlier 3.06 version.

Now I have this problem with the Nokia Suite not upgrading firmware without the sim card.I use nokia now mostly as a GPS and a Wi-fi net browsing device, so I would like to get the new map version since the current one (v3.01 09wk44 b01) keeps crashing when synchronizing favs. I downloaded the .sis file from softpedia (v3.03 10wk11 b04) but get certificate errors when trying to install it. Does anybody know where can I get a signed map, latest version for nokia n95, with a fix for the sync crash? (It does get sync'ed but closes every time)
