Mar 22, 2012ive only had this phone just over a month and its started just locking itself, i keep pressing unlock, sometimes i have to press it several times before it responds. it has spurts of constantly locking itself after i unlock it again, and then hours where it will be okay, and then suddenly start again!

May 12, 2010I have just upgraded my 9700 to .593 and everything works fine except for locking the phone keyboard.
Previously when I click on the top button of the mobile my phone goes into "Password mode" locking which means you can't unlock the device unless you enter the password. But after the update, clicking the button will only lock the keyboard and anyone can unlock it by clicking the same button.

May 20, 2010I tried searching but couldnt really find what I was looking for. Is there anyway to password protect your S2 only upon locking it? So in other words everytime I manually lock my phone, when I go to unlock it I would have to type in a password. I'm not really feeling the the whole password protect after 1,2,5,10,15,20,30, 1hour. I only want it to password protect when I lock the phone.

Apr 30, 2010I recently updated my Blackberry 9700 and ever since it's not as it used to be. I used to press the top left to lock button to lock it. When I did this the screen would dim, but now when I press the shortcut key the screen goes black. Then if I press the shortcut key again it unlocks it straight away even though I have the password option on. Before, regardless of which ever key I pressed it would always ask for a password. Now, the only time it asks for the password is when I take it out of the holster. This is really annoying me.Is this something that i can change or do i have to do a restore??

Jun 10, 2010I had to do a software update (obviously) because most of the features on my phone were not working, including the proximity sensor. Since updating it yesterday (9.6.10) I have had even more trouble. I can no longer set a password for when locking my phone. This is hugely inconvenient as security is one of the most important features for me. The only time it prompts a password is when the phone switches on. Also, when locking the phone, whatever was displayed before locking remains displayed, it just disables the ability to edit. Thus defeating the object.
When I locked my phone I liked the fact that whatever I was doing was hidden, and a password was necessary to access it! Finally, the proximity sensor to my holster is still malfunctioning. It activates when the phone is 3/4 of the way in, but the screen is then switched back on, along with full keyboard function when it is fully in the case. Thus also removing the ability to "lock upon holstering". I'm not happy with this software update and please tell me there is a fix for it, because I'm ready to throw this thing away. BB Bold :: 9900 - Password Reset Not Working?
Nov 7, 2012Ok, so as a student, coming back from the US to my home country, I had to change the sim card on my BB to use my phone and its features.
It asked me for my bb id and security password. I tried my default password (which had worked when I was moving to the US in the first place) but for some reason it did not work. I did what every normal person would do and set the password reset option.
It did not work and I tried every possible password till 9/10 attempts had been made. So I decided to just back up my stuff and do the data wipe. But then, after 10/10, all it did was lock me out for 15 minutes. So I took out my sim card and put it back in again, and suddenly, my phone was working fine! i don't know how, but I wasn't complaining. But then I have to reset the phone for some reason and voila! Security password being asked again and Im locked out again.
So in short, is there anyway I can get my password to work or at least do a data wipe so I can access my phone.

Oct 25, 2010on my bb bold 9900 suddenly error 502 has occurred. for that i reviewed and using JL_Cmder v1.9 i be able to sorted out. then again i got the error 507. that also i manged to sorted out. freshly i installed the os...now its working fine. but when i checked the password keeper icon, the file missing...please guide me how to sort this out....bb is my life kind of situation aridsed... please sort me boys...or if you have password keeper cod file... please send itexperts...

Unfortunately I do not have a backup and I lost all my contacts and media files. Is there a way to rollback knowing that I did previously an upgrade for the software version over the air, so probably my data is stored somewhere on RIM servers.

Jul 31, 2012I bought a Verizon Bold 9900 and it's been working wonderfully well for the first 4 months. A few days ago I connected my phone to my laptop and did a sync on blackberry desktop manager. I think I might have also updated the software of the phone. But the basic intention was to backup my data (which hung half way). I woke up the next morning and my phone was switched off. Whatever I try, the phone only blinks red every few seconds but does not switch back on. I have tried using my friends bold 9900 battery but that didnt work either (so battery is not the problem). I am afraid this might be a software problem. Now I can't get this phone replaced from Verizon and need a fix because I really can't afford to purchase another phone like it!

The only way to get the phone to operate is to remove the battery and to replace it for the phone to start up again.This allows you to operate the phone until it goes dark again. The battery is showing as almost fully charged so it is not a battery problem and I am running the latest software v7.0.0.585.This does not happen when the phone is busy charging!
