I bought a BB Bold 9900, supposedly unlocked, yet when I put in different SIM it connects to the network for a second and then it disconnects, yet it works fine on Rogers. Took it to the mall and was told it's corporate phone, it is unlocked but still works only on rogers.What can I do to unlock it now? I unlocked a few 9900 and I just buy code online, put in different SIM and it asks me for unlock code.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy battery was going on my phone so I went and got the charger and on my return my phone had died. I plugged this in and gave it the 5 mins to charge up a bit. However when this had loaded and turned on - my screen was locked. I clicked the side button to unlock this which asked me to type my password in! It wont allow me to typeit in .... its like my phone doesnt pick up the buttons I am pressing. After turning this on and off several times whilst also taking the sim card out etc etc it still wont allow me to do get in my phone.

View 6 Replies View Relatedtoday I picked up a rough looking Bold 9000 and swapped in my spare parts onto it. The catch is, it was a Bell phone. I already unlocked it and it states it is on rogers network now. I don't want the Bell logo/wallpapers to load upon startup, so I though by installing FW Version 5.0.1626 from the blackberry Rogers download page it would fix it.The software update just finished(about 10-15 min) and I see a bell background and bell startup logo. Should the Rogers FW change this over? or are the bell wallpapers/startup logo's programmed into the phone itself and NOT the FW?I don't want to remove the Logo completely, I just rather have it say ROGERS like my old BB and have all the rogers software/configuration.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have installed the Bell 5.0 OS on my Rogers bold. Everything went pretty well for a week, and I loved this new OS. But this morning, my BB data stopped to work (email, browser etc.) and on the network status screen, it said that it was not connected to BIS. I connected to my Wifi network, and the BIS connection was back (using wifi). I closed Wifi, called Rogers, they sent a new config to my BB, and everything worked for a minute. Then it then stopped again. Suspecting that my OS was a bit messy, I wiped my device and installed 5.0 from scratch. Still no connection to BIS. So I wiped again and installed the latest Official OS from Rogers. Everything was fine. I then upgraded to 5.0 and lost connectivity to BIS again Any idea on what is going on? Anyone is having trouble have their BB connect to BIS?

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I received a Canadian Rogers LG Xenon a couple days ago, I am not able to get any gmail apps to function on it (gmail, maps etc).After some troubleshooting I think it is because of the fact that the Access point settings in the phone are incorrect (read: not all entered)yet they are locked and not editable.For the rogers Internet Profile which is used for Application Data usage it did not have a user-name and password setup for the account.

When i look on the phone it does appear to have these settings (minus username/password which are blank) so.I tried to simply create a new Profile (new profile name also) to added the user-name and password but as soon as I enter the internet.com address the phone indicates that this access point already has a profile associated to it and you can not duplicate entries.Rogers Technical support also told me their "support" phone in the office was setup the exact same way and they could not edit it, and they do not 'support' gmail apps....I know other people have Rogers branded phones that are able to access gmail apps, could someone please verify if there accounts have the username and passwords set on their devices.The lady also said that the sim card is were this data is stored and that I should try putting my sim into a different phone to see if I could edit these settings there.....this doesn't sound correct to me, as this is my sim from my old phone were I manually entered all of these values.

But a Fido, my carrier, CR gave me the apn address which is mms.fido.ca and said this might help. Btw my Bold 9000 is unlocked so she couldn't help me fully because this phone is not sold by Fido. She also didn't know where to input it and I have no idea either.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought a Verizon Bold 9900 and it's been working wonderfully well for the first 4 months. A few days ago I connected my phone to my laptop and did a sync on blackberry desktop manager. I think I might have also updated the software of the phone. But the basic intention was to backup my data (which hung half way). I woke up the next morning and my phone was switched off. Whatever I try, the phone only blinks red every few seconds but does not switch back on. I have tried using my friends bold 9900 battery but that didnt work either (so battery is not the problem). I am afraid this might be a software problem. Now I can't get this phone replaced from Verizon and need a fix because I really can't afford to purchase another phone like it!

Please check your information and try again." error.The ISP spent at least 15 days trying to resolve it, but to no success.At that moment I decided to switch back to the same ISP that I had just a few days before and that used to work without problems.

The only way to get the phone to operate is to remove the battery and to replace it for the phone to start up again.This allows you to operate the phone until it goes dark again. The battery is showing as almost fully charged so it is not a battery problem and I am running the latest software v7.0.0.585.This does not happen when the phone is busy charging!

When I press the lock button the screen turns off for about 5 seconds, then lights up again, and stays lit. I can't see anything in the Options menu that will fix it. As I say, the problem has only been occurring in the last week.

I just got my first blackberry and I'm trying to adjust some of the settings.
1.) Is there an easier way to unlock the phone other than pressing the lock key at the top? I can conveniently lock it by pressing the * key, but is there an alternative for unlocking it? (I can't set it as a convenience key for some reason, it's not showing up as one of the options.)
2.) How do I set my alarms to vibrate only? I've selected and adjusted the "Vibrate Only" profile and made everything silent. But my alarms are still making sounds!
I have a BOLD 9900 that it's phone button does not work and the phone Icon has disappeared.All other apps work.I have taken the battery out and reinserted. Ran the Show Icon procedure. Turned it off and on.Turned the phone lock off and on.Checked Manage connections and all good.
