Mar 23, 2011I had updated my phone earlier then after it finished updating i then connect to a WiFi then while im browsing/ using internet application it always failed.

Anyone else experience this annoying situation? I use Facebook to advertise my business and communicate with clients. As you may or may not be aware of, some of the functions are only accessible via the desktop version.

Mar 14, 2010The main reason i bought the phone.Was because of a virtually non existent signal on the Orange network.(dropping calls etc).Anyway. To cut a long story short.It will find UMA.But takes an age to lock on.And sometimes when making /receiving calls i get cut off and my router crashes (loses internet connection)!If i go into my wifi settings in my phone (wifi diagnostics). Under UMA it says 'UMA connection failed'.But no 'error' code!!
I have checked my router setings and everything seems ok as it does on my phone.
But this morning i contacted AOL router support and they told me that it will not be the router but an issue with the phone!
While i am typing this.It has just found UMA (after approx 1 hour of trying) but if i make a call or receive one , i will more than likely be cut off.I forgot to mention that i have a 'speedtouch'(thompson) router. And am thinking of asking AOL for a 'Netgear'!Would this help?Although my laptop and xbox 360 run just fine via the speedtouch with no problems whatsoever

Feb 1, 2016I wasn't getting any traction on this when I posted it on the sticky bug defect page so I figured I would try a new thread.
I have had my 950 for about a month and a half and I really like it except for the issue I am having with WiFi. When it connects it gives me message that there is No Internet Access. And if I try something like web browsing I get an error because the phone is trying to use the WiFi connection instead of the Cell connection. This happens in multiple locations. I have this issue about 90% of the time and rebooting the phone fixes the issue about half the time.

Nov 3, 2015I just received my Nexus 6p last night. It connected and ran just fine on my home network. I get to school this morning and I can not connect to the school wifi which uses 802.1x MSCHAPv2 authentication. My Computer and my friend's Note 4 next to me can connect with out issue.
I just tried to connect to our guest Wifi with the same problem. Instead of using MSCHAPv2 Auth, the guest WiFi uses a captive portal. I still can not obtain an IP address from either. It looks like it might be an incompatibility with the access point itself? This is really weird as 1 / 2 of the networks I have tried to connect to succeeded and one was a Asus router (my home). The access points I am having trouble with are Aerohive from what I read on them. I do not know what the controller specs are.

Mar 13, 2012This weekend I updated my iPhone 4 (AT&T) and iPad 2 (Verizon 3G, wifi) to 5.1. Since the update (went flawlessly), I have been unable to connect to wifi networks anywhere. All that I get is the continuously running circle that shows it is trying to connect (but never actually does). I have RESET all Network connections numerous times, did the 'Forget this' connection on everything, etc. They will no longer connect to places that I have always connected to (Home network, CLE Airport, Hilton, Work, etc...). I can connect to all networks fine with my laptop and blackberry, but I just get the constant connection circle with my iPhone and iPad 2. I have tried:
1. Reboot (Soft)
2. Reboot (Hard (Home and Power button)
3. Forget WiFi connection
4. Reset Network Connections
5. Tried 6 different Wireless (wifi) networks that I have always been able to connect to with no luck.
6. Airplane Mode with wifi on...
7. Turned 3G off...

May 16, 2012Lost wifi connectivity on 3GS after 5.1.1 OS upgrade. Have tried every remedy, short of wiping my whole phone (have done reboot, backup and restore, reset network settings, reset all settings, etc.). Apple says my "hardware must be broken." Hard to believe, with 350,000 hits with same problem on Google search, just in these few days since upgrade was released. I do not want to wipe my phone and start over (for obvious reasons), nor do I unnecessarily want to purchase a new phone (for even more obvious reasons).

Browser isn't an issue,it happens with both Nokia browser and Opera. It doesn't happen when I connect with mobile provider GSM. When I run email client over WiFi it works perfectly,well except it restarted once or twice when tried to handle large html messages with big attachments.

I'm with a data plan that isn't full data. I can only use Twitter/Facebook/IM Services. No email or browsing. When I want to use these things I connect to my home wifi and use that. Worked perfectly for the first few months. However now when I click email or browser on my phone with wifi turned on and it says it's connect to the network I get the following message:You are currently on a service plan that requires a Wi-Fi connection to this this application.
