I am having some major battery draining issues since patching to Android 2.1, which I have noticed many other users were experiencing too. I found, in another thread, that using the repair tool may solve the problem (it had worked for other users), so I figured I would try it. Unfortunately, the repair tool goes through a preparation process, and then fails. It says "the update of software has failed. Please consult a technician". And yes, I have mounted my phone properly before running the process - I am not technologically challenged.
What I would like to know is how can I correct this problem, if any others had experienced the same issue, and how they worked around it. I would prefer NOT to read all the the responses from people that have nothing better to do with their time than write hate-mail about this phone, and how you are going to go demand a refund.I just want to fix it so that my battery works for a couple/few days again, and I can run the repair tool to get my phone back to normal.
I was just wondering if you knew where I could get the flashtool updates for sony xperia to 2.2 and 2.3. also I was wondering if I'm on 2.1 do I need to update to 2.2 and then go to 2.3 or can I just go straight to 2.3?
I have couple of doubts regarding any software provided by sony ( earliers sony ericssion) for mobile, camera, cd player etc...since this fourm is for mobile I will talk about my xperia neo.I am buyer of various sony products since 2005. Purchased like cd player, w810i, xperia neo and various headphones. software comes with these products especially PC companion and media go looks good but not friendly for use.PC companion doesn't detect phones for which it is designed for. There could be various reasons for not detecting phone but there should be some solution. For any issue most of the time final conclusion is re-install. If a software required frequent "Re-install" then it is not at all good software.
Also when installing pc companion MBs of data gets installed. But when it come for use it simply doesn't work for a smart phone for updates and all.looking for an alternative or some mechanism that can avoid PC companion for install and upgrade.Intall/upgarde software for android is as good as any OS install then some alternatives should be there if sonys own software doesn't work.I have seen to remove microsd card before update software. This means pc companion have some problem if sd card is present in phone. this could be because of size of memory card.I this case for 2012 line up mobiles, there are internal memory itself is 16gb or more. Then I am sure people will face problem and it will not get rectified as they cannot remove internal storage while updating or installing software. Also there are 2 softwares update service and pc companion. Why 2 softwares??? why cannot sony make a simple single software which is robust enough for any smartphone dependency external software?
I've done the backup and then using the PC Companion to repair but somehow its going halfway only. It appear that they cannot repair it because of....i cant remember the thing. They give me the link to /support....i think it is somewhere here. Anybody knows where should go or how am I going to finish the repair?
i recently purchased this x10 thinking i could repair it. It show's absolutely no signs of life. Plus it has a cracked front digitizer. First thing i did was buy an external battery charger and another battery thinking that might be it..but it wasn't. Next thing i did was buy the usb to phone chord to use the repair features provided by SE, but the computer does not read the phone at all. I've tried following the steps provided by the companion software but nothing. I even tried holding the back button while connecting it.
I recently flashed my x8 with a custom rom and after rebooting my x8 got stuck on the "Sony Ericsson". I have tried more than 4 times with different PCs to repair the phone with PCC but anytime i try i get an error message shown below.I dont know why it has to be like this, because this is not my first time repairing my x8 and even though sometimes i do get an error message but when i try for the second time it works. My Phone is not "Dead" and i seriously need help. I was thinking, maybe this error is because of my internet connection or my pc, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
i have a xperia z3 (D6653) which the switch sends me the message of the software update failed. That make sure your phone is connected to the computer and try again.
I am (was) the owner of a Xperia X10. Unfortunately in late 2010 I had the common fault of the phone not charging. So I sent of my phone to get repaired at the Sony Ericsson accredited repair center, SBE. About a week after sending it of they said that the damage was covered by the warranty and that they would send me a brand new replacement X10. However, when I got the phone back the memory card was missing. When I rung up to enquire about it's whereabouts they had no idea where it was and refused to replace it, even though on the form I sent with the phone I declared I had sent the memory card. Obviously I was angry, since was there was literally nothing I could do about it. I got over that. However, about a month ago the exact same fault occoured. Since I knew the damage was covered by warranty and the chances were that a I would receive a new phone I was all to keen to send it off to SBE. With the knowledge than my memory card had been lost last time I used SBE I was extra careful to only send items which could have attributed to the fault. These included the phone itself, the battery and the charger. After about 2 weeks of it being away (I posted it on next day special delivery) they finally got back to me with the news that the fault wasn't covered by the warranty. Clearly I was pretty angry, so I phoned orange, who advised me to have it sent back and then take it in to them to have a look at. £10.00 later and my phone was sent back to me... missing the charger. I was fuming! And once again, because I had no proof that I had sent it they refused to help me in any way shape or form. So, if you break your Sony Ericsson, please, think before you send it of to SBE. Read around, I'm not the only one who's had a bad experience with SBE. I can't believe they are still accredited by Sony Ericcson.
OK, did something really stupid i.e. changed my security pattern late at night and now cannot unlock my xperia z3 D6653. It's in airport mode and I've tried everything else. Â So it is a hard reset I'm after. As per instructions I've downloaded Sony Bridge for Mac, installed and had it running, came stuck at stage where you "hold volume down and connect phone to mac". What shows is an icon that informs me the battery level of my phone (I checked it's over 80%) and goes no further.
I was trying to repair my phone using the PC Companion, when the phone shut off during the update, and now whenever i turn on the phone, i get a screen showing a phone, along with a triangle with exclamation point in it, then it promptly shuts off.
I have kind of dropped my xperia and the screen have ckraked from the inside only (i mean that from the outside it's soft as it was,but in the inside it's cracked) and the LCD is alright buttouch screen does not work in most of the screen area.
I have sent my Xperia Play 2 weeks ago for repair and it has not come back. The problem was that everytime i slide the controller, the phone turns off. In addition, the touch screen does not work! The man at the service centre said it would take 5 working days or more and it has been 2 weeks.
I have Sk17i phone and recently the screen of it got damaged. But now as per service center, It will cost me 11k rupees for the repair. The phone cost is 13.5k? How can the maintenance cost be too high?
I have upgraded my SK17i to ICS when I first bought it and update it again with 587 update last months. But my phone have this lag problem so, I thought I repair it via PC Companion today. The problem is, phase 3 (updating) phase doesn't seems to progress. The progress bar is at zero for an hour now and my internet is connected.
Update: This is taking too long for me to wait, I'm cancelling the update by clicking the [x] button. I hope it doesn't touch anything on the system and just downloading the update file.
Update 2: I cannot boot my phone now, it shows yellow triangle with exlamation mark.
Are these 2 functions similar or different? repairing the phone only takes 4 minutes and according to pc companion this will replace my current software with new. While update service takes less than an hour and downloads a software that will also replace my current software? which of the two will probably fix the software issue that i'm having regarding SMS reception?
any suggestions what to do gratefully received have done the ususal, turn everything of and on, remove battery, all are charged ok but computer doesnt seem to recognise bb any more and cant connect
I have bought an xperia play.. I like it a lot. The only problem is, my phone does not seem to want to let me connect to it using usb. I can plug it in and win7 recognises it (mtp mode) and I get it coming up as 'Xperia Play' in 'Devices and Printers', however Sony Ericcson PC Companion simply times out when trying to connect to the phone. Also, no notification comes up on the phone regarding USB like I have read in some of the other forum Q&A's.
A friend of mine got rid of a lot of the 'bloat' on the phone with Titanium Backup (I think it's what he used?!).. I am wondering if the 'agent' or 'service' or whatever you call it on the phone is no longer running.. Hence there is no notification on the phone when plugging it in to a PC via usb.
I am going to send it back to where I got it anyway as I have a major issue.. Calls go straight to voicemail regardless of the sim I use. I was trying to update my phone to the latest firmware to see if this problem is solved... But I can't do it. I think sending it back might be the better move. Just thought I'd mention that too in case someone knows of a reason this could be happening (no, call forwarding is not enabled).
While running the 2.1 update on my phone the upgrade stopped. Now i can't start the phone, a warning icon shows on the display for a couple of seconds and then the phone turns off again.
I've connected my Xperia Ray to PC Companion 2.0 and I've been informed that sw version 4.0.2.A.0.62 was available for my phone. I started the procedure but I got "Your IP address is not allowed to update/repair brown phone. Please connect to SEMC network to update your phone". Then I've downloaded the SEUS software and tried to upgrade that way, but Xperia Ray is not listed in the phones' catalogue. What shall I do? What is SEMC network?
i have an sonyerricson X10 . and my phone is fails to power up with a SD card. when ever i take the SD card out the power is on, as long as i keep the SD card there the power is off cant be be.
Today i tried to update my xperia mini and sony PC companion started the update process. but the second tab, prepare system for updation fails to complete. it just stops abruptly without any message or notifications.
