Xperia Ray :: (ST18) Sw Upgrade From 2.3.4 To 4.0.2 Fails
Jan 24, 2012
I've connected my Xperia Ray to PC Companion 2.0 and I've been informed that sw version 4.0.2.A.0.62 was available for my phone. I started the procedure but I got "Your IP address is not allowed to update/repair brown phone. Please connect to SEMC network to update your phone". Then I've downloaded the SEUS software and tried to upgrade that way, but Xperia Ray is not listed in the phones' catalogue. What shall I do? What is SEMC network?
While running the 2.1 update on my phone the upgrade stopped. Now i can't start the phone, a warning icon shows on the display for a couple of seconds and then the phone turns off again.
I am trying to upgrade the OS of my xperia RAY through PC companion. But every time if fails. I am using this phone for a month and while doing it, I have tried it by Factory Data Reset. But no positive result. I am having no proxy or so.
I am trying to upgrade my X10 from software version 1.6 to 2.1.First of all I think it's very annoying that there are 2 different applications from Sony Ericsson called Update Service and PC Companion. Why not just have 1 application and make it less complicated for the users. However I first tried with Update Service, but it keeps telling me that my software is up to date and all I can choose then is "Exit". There are no settings and nothing else you can do.
Then I tried with PC Companion which detects that there is a new software update available for my phone and when I try to upgrade it fails on preparing the computer for software upgrade, see picture.
I have just upgraded the firmware and have lost everything that was on my phone. I have tried to restore from back up but keeps coming up with "itunes could not restore the iphone "#######" because the back up session failed.
The back up was done just couple minutes before i upgraded and i have also tried previous back ups but none of them work.
Is there going to be a way to get the back up working?
I finally recieved the upgrade to ICS on my Bionic last night. I've tried to download and install 3 times now. Each and everytime the upgrade fails to install.
I updated my 808 PureView (product code 059P8D4) today using the over the air method and I have discovered that Nokia Music no longer works. My 808 came with a 12 month subscription to Nokia Music and 40 lakhs of value. Now I am not able to use that. Is anyone else in the same boat?
When trying to copy the Kindle folder from the Xoom to Windows 7 Xoom backup folder, the transfer stops and I get a Windows message that says "device stopped responding." Everything goes well until about 3/4 way into the file transfer. At this point it stops (blue bar stops moving) and Windows Explorer says Not Responding. If I wait long enough, then I get the device stopped responding message. how to get this file backed up so I can ship my Xoom for upgrade.
any suggestions what to do gratefully received have done the ususal, turn everything of and on, remove battery, all are charged ok but computer doesnt seem to recognise bb any more and cant connect
I have bought an xperia play.. I like it a lot. The only problem is, my phone does not seem to want to let me connect to it using usb. I can plug it in and win7 recognises it (mtp mode) and I get it coming up as 'Xperia Play' in 'Devices and Printers', however Sony Ericcson PC Companion simply times out when trying to connect to the phone. Also, no notification comes up on the phone regarding USB like I have read in some of the other forum Q&A's.
A friend of mine got rid of a lot of the 'bloat' on the phone with Titanium Backup (I think it's what he used?!).. I am wondering if the 'agent' or 'service' or whatever you call it on the phone is no longer running.. Hence there is no notification on the phone when plugging it in to a PC via usb.
I am going to send it back to where I got it anyway as I have a major issue.. Calls go straight to voicemail regardless of the sim I use. I was trying to update my phone to the latest firmware to see if this problem is solved... But I can't do it. I think sending it back might be the better move. Just thought I'd mention that too in case someone knows of a reason this could be happening (no, call forwarding is not enabled).
I am having some major battery draining issues since patching to Android 2.1, which I have noticed many other users were experiencing too. I found, in another thread, that using the repair tool may solve the problem (it had worked for other users), so I figured I would try it. Unfortunately, the repair tool goes through a preparation process, and then fails. It says "the update of software has failed. Please consult a technician". And yes, I have mounted my phone properly before running the process - I am not technologically challenged.
What I would like to know is how can I correct this problem, if any others had experienced the same issue, and how they worked around it. I would prefer NOT to read all the the responses from people that have nothing better to do with their time than write hate-mail about this phone, and how you are going to go demand a refund.I just want to fix it so that my battery works for a couple/few days again, and I can run the repair tool to get my phone back to normal.
i have an sonyerricson X10 . and my phone is fails to power up with a SD card. when ever i take the SD card out the power is on, as long as i keep the SD card there the power is off cant be be.
Today i tried to update my xperia mini and sony PC companion started the update process. but the second tab, prepare system for updation fails to complete. it just stops abruptly without any message or notifications.
I have just updated my X10 mini pro to 4.1.B.0.587.Now the phone won't start. When I press the on button the phone vibrates, the LED on the top left flashes faintly green twice, and then nothing.I can connect to PC companion, and it recognises the phone. I have even been able to do an update to the phone via the PC companion.
Okay so i have had my z2 for just over a month now all was well but it now drops signal regularly at home and at work. Girlfriend has a htc m8 on same network and hers does not have issues also when it does drop it fails to reconect i have cleaned the sim done a factory reset.
When i try to pair my Desktop and my Xperia Active vía Bluetooth, i always get two different pairing codes (i'm using the assistant from windows 7 64bits) on the screen of my Active it shows a code, and my PC shows another completly different, no matter how many times i tried, is always the same, and is imposible for me to connect my smartphone to my PC.
I have an Xperia X10 since July on Vodafone UK. It is (was) running the latest SE firmware, but is now 'bricked' - I learned this term while googl-ing for the problem, but all the mentions involve 'debranding' or installation of unofficial (unauthorised) firmware releases - and I haven't done ANY of that.
The story in detail:
1. In recent days I noticed some glitches in the performance of Android Market on the phone: some downloads were reported as 'unsuccessful' and had to be repeated. This happened both with new apps and with updates. On occasions a reboot was necessary for downloads to start happening normaly again.
2. Today (Sat 30-10) this went to extreme: NO download from the Market was possible at all, each time it stalled forever. As explanation, an error message started coming up: "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped and needs to be force-closed". No rebooting would solve this. I cleaned several caches (after reading various forums about the error)
3. I decided to reinstall the firmware, hoping to fix the Market performance. Backed up all my data and connected to PC Companion. In the first phase it reported that I "already have the latest version", but I wasn't after an update, so I went on to Repair / Reinstall.
4. The download went smoothly and the installation started well, proceeding to near-the-end. THEN, PC Companion reported: "The installation was unsuccessful, try again". I tried - several times, and the result was the same. Decided to return to my existing installation and seek other ways to repair that 'com.google.,..' process.
5. On attempting to boot, I saw that dreaded YELLOW TRIANGLE with no explanation, and a dead phone not responding to any controls. Had to turn it off by removing thebattery..
6. Several re-installation attempts with both Companion and SEUS also failed, and I am stuck with a useless brick
you ever captured an amzaing unique or funny picture or video at the best almost impossible time creating a priceless memory? .........and then for the media to not be there? well welcome to my world. my xperia x10 mini pro.....literally decides when it wants to capture the image or video. for example, sometimes i will take a photo.........the image is saved. i then go to view the image and i just get a black screen with some sort of white logo on it. which i assume means error. i cannot even find a discussion info or image on this extremely frustrating topic.
as for videos......i had recorded probably a once in a life time extremely funny occurance with my friends...........you cannot fathom the amount of anger i felt when i opened the video to discover it freezes at PRECISELY the funny moment and then stops. another video simply told me..
I'm trying to update my xperia x8 to android 2.1 according to instructions from PC Companion. But the update already fails during preparation of pc phase - all I get is an error message that some files oculd not be read and it stops and suggests to try again. But no luck there.
Every time I get a call in my car, I answer it with my bluetooth. But when I do that the screen lock is going in unlock mode. I don't want it to go in unlockmode because my phone is in my trousers. Can I change this in the settings?? If I take a call with a bluetoothdevice the screen-lock must stay on.
The playlists created on my sk17i are not showing up in media go, so there is no chance of syncing this playlists.
I created .m3u playlist on computer and transferred it to the mobile. Songs in the playlist is working fine but if add or remove any songs to this playlist... the changes will be gone when the music player is restarted..
Whenever I attempt to download a file through the stock web browser (i.e. an .iso file, .nzb file) which is not compatible with the bundled office suite, I often find that my download either fails or is somehow corrupted. The problem is solved by installing a third party bloatware browser (i.e. firefox) to download files with.
Scanner is very finicky. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Tried registering multiple ID's using the same finger. Tried safe mode. Diagnostic test fails (doesn't vibrate) during safe and normal mode.
I bought this phone because of the fingerprint sensor (lots of sensitive business info in the phone), so i'd love for it to work normally.
I've had my mini pro for almost a year, and installing applications on it used to work perfectly fine. I haven't had the need to install any new apps for a while, but when I recently tried installing one, it failed. I've updated all software and there's enough space on the phone for the application(s) I wanted to install, yet it doesn't work. When I've purchased an application, it goes to install it, only to stop installing it after about 3-5 seconds without giving any notice or a reason why. It just stops. Updating apps already installed is no problem.
I'm trying without success to connect my brand new Xperia Mini/PRO to my existing Google account via a WIFI communication to my router. I first configured the WIFI connection on both the router and the phone (IP address, MAC address, WPA-PSK key). This being done, the phone actually automatically connects to my WIFI router when it is located within the router's emission range. I checked on the home page of the router that the phone is actually mentioned as a connected device. I assume there is no basic problem with my router as I use it everyday with both cable connected and WIFI laptops under Windows 7.
When I try to create - for the first time - a connection to my existing Google account, I enter my Google email address and password and lauch the connection. I then get a warning message that says "Connection... This may last a few minutes". The problem is that this message stays forever displayed and the connection with the Goggle account is not done ... until, after tens of minutes, I finally decide to cancel the connection trial. I tried as well without success to use the web browser - still via WIFI on my router. The browser isn't able to access any internet page. This seems to be a connection problem although the phone is correctly connected and recognized by the router.
I've bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro SK17, and have wasted a whole day, trying to transfer my contacts from my PC's address book. First, it asks to disconnect my old phone from my computer, then to reconnect. Finally it ends the operation saying "A memory card must be inserted in the phone". I changed the memory card to put a new 8GB card. But I'm fed up to see the same message again and again.
