Today i tried to update my xperia mini and sony PC companion started the update process. but the second tab, prepare system for updation fails to complete. it just stops abruptly without any message or notifications.

First, it asks to disconnect my old phone from my computer, then to reconnect. Finally it ends the operation saying "A memory card must be inserted in the phone". I changed the memory card to put a new 8GB card. But I'm fed up to see the same message again and again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to upgrade my X10 from software version 1.6 to 2.1.First of all I think it's very annoying that there are 2 different applications from Sony Ericsson called Update Service and PC Companion. Why not just have 1 application and make it less complicated for the users.However I first tried with Update Service, but it keeps telling me that my software is up to date and all I can choose then is "Exit". There are no settings and nothing else you can do.
Then I tried with PC Companion which detects that there is a new software update available for my phone and when I try to upgrade it fails on preparing the computer for software upgrade, see picture.
There is no download link other than Microsoft windows.

View 5 Replies View Relatedso i got the notification on the new software update nd it says connet to a pc to recieve it. then u get told to download this pc companion. so i have done. then i notice it says no phone connected. so i click how to connect i then get to stage two and it says connect usb cable to your computer and then to your phone so i do that and nothing happens. i wait 30 seconds and nothing happens i disconect my phone and connect it again and still nothing happens all its doing is charging my phone. i've done it over and over again and nothing happens.

The device works fine in Mass Storage Mode, so the connectivity cable & ports are alright. Then I tried with the 'Device Manager' Updating, Uninstalling & Reinstalling & even changing the ports. The device still fail to start in MTP Mode as the Windows 7 would say.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a Mini Pro and the operator is T-Mobile. T-Mobile only approved the update yesterday so I went to update it via PCC after updating PCC and Backup And Restore. Before I started updating, I backed it up. Now I started the updating process and I was on step 2. It asks me to remove the USB cable from the phone and turn it off. Then insert the cable back in WHILE holding the Back key. When I do this, nothing happens except PCC tells me that they can sense a Sony Ericsson phone. I've tried doing it more than 5 times and it's the same thing over again. I've turned my MMS & data off and Data roaming On if that makes any difference at all.
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy problem is that it does connect with PC companion with USB, but not with bluetooth.It does get paired, the pc sees the phone, correct name, gives me the 4 digit code, and put them in the phone, but when I put in the phone, it seems ok, until PC Companion just says I cannot connect via BT, and tells me to try with USB cable.Why would I try with BT, for any other reason that not wanting to use the cable?Well, anyway, BT in the PC is ok (i used to connect with a Palm Treo 1 week ago), and BT in the phone is ok, it connect with car's handsfree.

I have upgraded my SK17i to ICS when I first bought it and update it again with 587 update last months. But my phone have this lag problem so, I thought I repair it via PC Companion today. The problem is, phase 3 (updating) phase doesn't seems to progress. The progress bar is at zero for an hour now and my internet is connected.
Update: This is taking too long for me to wait, I'm cancelling the update by clicking the [x] button. I hope it doesn't touch anything on the system and just downloading the update file.
Update 2: I cannot boot my phone now, it shows yellow triangle with exlamation mark.
When I save contacts to the memory card I get a file named 00001.vcf. When I open this file in outlook it seems to contain only the first of all my contacts. Can I open this file in another way to get all my contacts? Is it possible to import all my contacts to Pc Companion? When I syncronize the phone with this program I only get the bookmarks exported from the phone to the program. No contact is exported. I have already lost my contacts once and will be sure that I have saved them correctly.
