Xperia X10 :: SMS With Contact Pictures?

When you go into the phonebook, select a contact and swipe sideways along to messaging, it shows - very nicely - a thread of all your texts with that contact, with contact pictures to boot. However, when in the messaging application these pictures are nowhere to be seen. Is there a setting Im missing that enables these contact pictures in the messaging app or is this one design that SE has forgotten to make consistent between the apps?

Phonebook every contact has a colour picture next to it completely random with no order whatsoever that I can tell, what is the organisation behind it as it bugs me that its so all over the place

After syncing my brand new xperia z2 phone with gmail, i see the contact pictures in "contacts". however, when i call someone, the picture does not show on screen, it just shows the generic "head".they are NOT sim or phone contacts, i switched all of the SIM contacts to be gmail contacts just for this purpose.why am i not seeing the contact pictures?

I copied from my old phone to the PC, and then to my X8, some pictures from my contacts. They are under the DCIM folder in the SD card.When I edit a contact and choose to add a picture, I can't add those pictures. The following things happen:
If I choose to use the internal Album application to browse and select the pictures, it shows all the photos I took with the phone's camera, plus several others that I don't know where they came from. It doesn't show the pictures I just copied from the PC to the SD card. But the ones that are visible can be selected and used.If I choose to use a file browser (such as OI File Manager) to browse and select the pictures, I can browse to the SD card, under folder DCIM, and see all the pictures, but that I took with the phone and the ones I copied over from the PC. But once I select a picture it just does't go to the contact. The contact editor still show's the default picture of a silhouette, and won't use the picture I selected. So,
how can I add pictures that I moved from my PC to the SD card as contact pictures?Where are the pictures stored in internal memory? Where are all those fancy silhouettes kept?

Recently I have noticed that my facebook contact pictures o my phone (ray) has not been updating. Thought it was my phone so I have removed facebook and facebook inside xperia from accounts and sync and even clear the data from facebook in appications.
Readding the accounts, facebook is syncing up but I do not get any pictures, the photos/interest info is there when you view my contact but the picture is not there.
Is anyone having the same issue, there a bug in the recent update?

I have the Xperia Z3 from Tmo and when I see my contacts I see the pictures on them but when I call them or they call me I get the blank default picture for them during the call. I have verify I dont have multiples contacts of the same or multi pictures. I reset the phone and in the first sync everithing was OK but after like one hour again the same probpem. I reset it and installed all apps one by one to see if one of them was giving me the error but everithing was OK after I intall them and after some hours again the same thing. I like this phone and I dont whant to go back to ios.

I have had my Xperia mini now since sept but i have noticed recently that when one of my friends/contacts changes their profile picture on facebook it does not change on my phone! i have tried syncronising it but it still not changed.

I synch my contacts from Outlook through Exchange server. I use contact pictures extensively, but none of my contacts on the RAZR have pictures. On the phone I added a picture to a contact. Later, I added notes to the contact on Outlook, and the picture on the phone disappeared. What's up with the pictures?

Is anyone else experiancing this? I have seen other peoples having same prob in other forums but no ones been able to find a solution though. In 1.6 it used to be blurry too unless you added them via mediascape. Tried it all again on 2.1 and still blurry. Otehrwise the updates quite good except theres

I was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?

Recently, my iPhone 5 had very little storage left. After deleting many apps I was able to free up enough space to update it from iOS 8.1 to 8.1.1. After that, I had very little storage again. Because of this, my phone started to act up, like apps not opening and text messages not being received. With this, the pictures to all of my contacts disappeared. I was wondering if there was any way to get them back without restoring to another backup?

I installed .419 and resynced. Everything works fine but one thing - none of my contact pictures in Outlook are syncing to the BlackBerry. First time this has happened. I treid to clear the BlackBerry contact database and resync, but again, everything resynced except the contact pictures.

I got a replacement iPhone due to battery issues a couple weeks ago and ever since then my contacts pictures only come up very small in the top right corner of my screen if I receive a call. On my last phone, the contact picture took up the whole screen.I did some research and it seems that this is caused from syncing your contacts and their pictures onto your phone instead of adding them from your phone manually. I assume that I synced them with my Gmail and them Gmail put them back onto my new phone and this is what messed them up.Anybody know how I can remove all my contacts pictures and then re-sync them with Facebook? Or any other type of workaround?

is there a way to make Contact Pictures larger or square when making or receiving calls? The cropped circle bothers me with it's wasted real estate. I think especially because I was using a Nexus 6 before the G4, and the stock Google dialer is beautiful.
I'm on a Verizon G4 so I wouldn't be surprised if the option to make them larger did indeed exist but they removed it. ;-)

I have been using Outlook 2010 for quite a while and then switched to Outlook 2011 with my former employer. The switch went very smooth and even on my BlackBerry I did not notice any difference. All contact pictures remained on the device and even when I added new ones it was synchronized to the device perfectly independently of the image size. Now I've changed jobs and with my new employer I've re-imported my contacts into Outlook 2011 again. From an Outlook 2011 perspective everything looks great, all pictures are there however they are not on my BlackBerry. Every new contact or every removed one will synchronize perfectly to my BlackBerry - only the contact pictures won't. I've tried inserting new ones, I've played around with image sizes as I've read something about certain limitations, I've spoken to the BES admin and he confirmed this feature has not been turned off on the BES.

I made the mistake of letting Facebook touch my phone, and now Facebook thinks it owns the damn thing.
No matter how many times I set the contact pictures on my contacts to the pictures I want (and in the list of linked contacts, it shows the correct pictures), the contact's main picture is their Facebook profile picture, and if they don't have one, then it's the generic Facebook blue head.

Does the 920 support contact photos? When I transfer my contacts from the N9 to the 920 will the 920 also import the contact photos? If I sign in to my Microsoft Account will it automatically sync my contacts to the Cloud (Outlook.com) Or is this user defined? If it does sync will I lose all of my contact photos because Outlook.com doesn't support photos (other than those it 'imports' from Hotmail or Outlook profiles).

Just downloaded/installed the update for my 9900 via OTA (7.0.0.585) and when I went through my contact list, I noticed that at least half of them don't have pictures. (which are linked through FB) This was also the case for my BBM contacts. Would this be a glitch after the installation completed?

I just switched to the HTC One M9 and am using GoSMS Pro for my messaging. In my Phonebook Contacts, all of my linked FB contacts have their current profile pic showing up but in the GoSMS Pro app, they just show up as default blue avatar. I can manually save each profile pic and assign it to a contact, but I don't want to have to do that for all of my FB friends!

The one thing I don't get is the picture contacts that I have don't show up when the phone is locked, (the caller ID and specific ring tone if used do), they do show up though if the phone is unlocked, so I'm confused. I know there is the caller ID issue that is resolved by un-ticking contacts in encryption which is what I have done otherwise the contact ID's wouldn't show up when locked. It's not the end of the world, but just a niggle that I would like to resolve.

I am using a Bold 9930 for the past year and I just recently discovered that I can no longer email pictures - my attachments for files and etc work fine. I have tried the battery - emailing from the camera - using small size pictures - checking to see if I have a data plan (YES) - emailing from the media card and the device storage with no luck. I am getting angry at the phone! The pictures can be sent to Twitter/Facebook/and of course texting. Oh I read about deleting service books and then restarting them - not sure what that means but I have a ton of files under the service books.
