After syncing my brand new xperia z2 phone with gmail, i see the contact pictures in "contacts". however, when i call someone, the picture does not show on screen, it just shows the generic "head".they are NOT sim or phone contacts, i switched all of the SIM contacts to be gmail contacts just for this purpose.why am i not seeing the contact pictures?
View 6 RepliesThe one thing I don't get is the picture contacts that I have don't show up when the phone is locked, (the caller ID and specific ring tone if used do), they do show up though if the phone is unlocked, so I'm confused. I know there is the caller ID issue that is resolved by un-ticking contacts in encryption which is what I have done otherwise the contact ID's wouldn't show up when locked. It's not the end of the world, but just a niggle that I would like to resolve.

I open th recent call list and click one of the recent calls but instead of dialing that contact my phone dials a different contact which is different altogather. Initially i thought that I have selected wrong contact but recently I noticed that the contact it actually called was way down in the list that it was not even visible.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen you go into the phonebook, select a contact and swipe sideways along to messaging, it shows - very nicely - a thread of all your texts with that contact, with contact pictures to boot. However, when in the messaging application these pictures are nowhere to be seen. Is there a setting Im missing that enables these contact pictures in the messaging app or is this one design that SE has forgotten to make consistent between the apps?

View 5 Replies View RelatedAll my contacts are synced, Facebook profile pics show up on the contact list but Caller ID photos do not show for incoming/sending calls. Its just the generic picture. However Google+ profile pictures do appear in a small circle on the bottom left corner on a gray background.
PS: The problem started after the 5.0 update. I've already reset the phone and tried doing the update with PC Companion. Nothing works.
Phonebook every contact has a colour picture next to it completely random with no order whatsoever that I can tell, what is the organisation behind it as it bugs me that its so all over the place

I copied from my old phone to the PC, and then to my X8, some pictures from my contacts. They are under the DCIM folder in the SD card.When I edit a contact and choose to add a picture, I can't add those pictures. The following things happen:
If I choose to use the internal Album application to browse and select the pictures, it shows all the photos I took with the phone's camera, plus several others that I don't know where they came from. It doesn't show the pictures I just copied from the PC to the SD card. But the ones that are visible can be selected and used.If I choose to use a file browser (such as OI File Manager) to browse and select the pictures, I can browse to the SD card, under folder DCIM, and see all the pictures, but that I took with the phone and the ones I copied over from the PC. But once I select a picture it just does't go to the contact. The contact editor still show's the default picture of a silhouette, and won't use the picture I selected. So,
how can I add pictures that I moved from my PC to the SD card as contact pictures?Where are the pictures stored in internal memory? Where are all those fancy silhouettes kept?
Recently I have noticed that my facebook contact pictures o my phone (ray) has not been updating. Thought it was my phone so I have removed facebook and facebook inside xperia from accounts and sync and even clear the data from facebook in appications.
Readding the accounts, facebook is syncing up but I do not get any pictures, the photos/interest info is there when you view my contact but the picture is not there.
Is anyone having the same issue, there a bug in the recent update?
I had updated x10 but contact picture is bad what to do. It is dim
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the Xperia Z3 from Tmo and when I see my contacts I see the pictures on them but when I call them or they call me I get the blank default picture for them during the call. I have verify I dont have multiples contacts of the same or multi pictures. I reset the phone and in the first sync everithing was OK but after like one hour again the same probpem. I reset it and installed all apps one by one to see if one of them was giving me the error but everithing was OK after I intall them and after some hours again the same thing. I like this phone and I dont whant to go back to ios.

I have seen a strange issue with N8. At times, I have seen that when I receive a call from the person who is already added in my contact list, the phone is just displaying the number and not the name of the person. When I check the Log, it also displays the number and not the name of the person.
I have imported my contact list from my previous handset (Nokia N70) where it worked absolutely fine. It is quite inconvenient to identify the caller without the name and decide whether to accept or reject during work hours and have at times missed some important calls due to that.
So I selected "always" for a phone number when calling a contact for whom I have multiple numbers. Now, I'm no longer given a choice of which # to use when calling her; it just uses the default. How do I clear this?

However, when I receive a call from one of my contacts calling without the country code prefix, the iPhone doesn't recognise the contact as the number calling. The only way it works is when I save the contact twice - once with and then without the country code prefix. Is there a fix for this?
