Galaxy S5 :: Why Pictures Look Dull On Samsung Phone
Jan 17, 2015My pictures in the Samsung Gallery app are a lot duller than when I took them or where I downloaded them. It's strange because when I minimize the Gallery app, you can see it revert to the richer color version of the photo. I don't get it? So when I take photos with my camera the preview of it never looks good because it previews from Gallery. It's kinda greyish looking and not as vibrant. How do I resolve this?

I have restored my recent backup that I took before updating, but unfortunately, contacts are not appearing. In call log, I can see names, and also in messaging when I add contact, it shows the list, but not in phonebook.

Aug 5, 2011So i just updates to the gingerbread 4.5.91 update on my Atrix and now when i go to change a picture from contacts, edit contact, press pic icon... i cant choose what part of the picture i want to use it just uses the whole picture but this way the picture isnt so blurry... if i go to my gallery select a pic, hit the menu button, set as, contact icon i can select what part of the pic i wanna use but then its very blurry... and the original pic is clear as can be..

May 23, 2011I got my Droid X back in December and the Facebook pictures for each contact haven't updated once since I got the phone. I've tried telling it to sync, but the pictures remain the same. Also, with some of my contacts it lists their Twitter name as their name, even if I type in a new name. Is there some way to set a default name? When I'm searching for someone to call/text, I don't normally think of them by their Twitter name, so it can make some people difficult to find. Other people come up by the names I set them to. Not sure what I did differently there.

Sep 11, 2010When you go into the phonebook, select a contact and swipe sideways along to messaging, it shows - very nicely - a thread of all your texts with that contact, with contact pictures to boot. However, when in the messaging application these pictures are nowhere to be seen. Is there a setting Im missing that enables these contact pictures in the messaging app or is this one design that SE has forgotten to make consistent between the apps?

May 26, 2011I copied from my old phone to the PC, and then to my X8, some pictures from my contacts. They are under the DCIM folder in the SD card.When I edit a contact and choose to add a picture, I can't add those pictures. The following things happen:
If I choose to use the internal Album application to browse and select the pictures, it shows all the photos I took with the phone's camera, plus several others that I don't know where they came from. It doesn't show the pictures I just copied from the PC to the SD card. But the ones that are visible can be selected and used.If I choose to use a file browser (such as OI File Manager) to browse and select the pictures, I can browse to the SD card, under folder DCIM, and see all the pictures, but that I took with the phone and the ones I copied over from the PC. But once I select a picture it just does't go to the contact. The contact editor still show's the default picture of a silhouette, and won't use the picture I selected. So,
how can I add pictures that I moved from my PC to the SD card as contact pictures?Where are the pictures stored in internal memory? Where are all those fancy silhouettes kept?
Xperia Ray :: Facebook Contact Pictures No Longer Syncing
Dec 23, 2011Recently I have noticed that my facebook contact pictures o my phone (ray) has not been updating. Thought it was my phone so I have removed facebook and facebook inside xperia from accounts and sync and even clear the data from facebook in appications.
Readding the accounts, facebook is syncing up but I do not get any pictures, the photos/interest info is there when you view my contact but the picture is not there.
Is anyone having the same issue, there a bug in the recent update?

Jul 18, 2015I have the Xperia Z3 from Tmo and when I see my contacts I see the pictures on them but when I call them or they call me I get the blank default picture for them during the call. I have verify I dont have multiples contacts of the same or multi pictures. I reset the phone and in the first sync everithing was OK but after like one hour again the same probpem. I reset it and installed all apps one by one to see if one of them was giving me the error but everithing was OK after I intall them and after some hours again the same thing. I like this phone and I dont whant to go back to ios.

I make a test call to the number, and the photo appears full size. The moment I leave the contact screen and try to make a test call again (for example, adding the contact to my favorites and using a favorite link to make a test call) the picture appears as a thumbnail. This happens immediately and to every contact I have. I sync the contact list with Google contacts.

I know from various sites that you can add a ".NoMedia" file to any folder and it will apparently prevent it from displaying in Gallery, but I can't find the actual folder location in My Files where the contact photos are stored, so that I can put this file there - and I can't find this info on ANY web sites. Is the .nomedia thing the only way to stop this? Also, is it possible to uninstall / remove access to Gallery if I install another photo/video manager app?
