May 8, 2014After syncing my brand new xperia z2 phone with gmail, i see the contact pictures in "contacts". however, when i call someone, the picture does not show on screen, it just shows the generic "head".they are NOT sim or phone contacts, i switched all of the SIM contacts to be gmail contacts just for this purpose.why am i not seeing the contact pictures?

Nov 3, 2010I have been facing this issue after upgrading to 2.1. I open th recent call list and click one of the recent calls but instead of dialing that contact my phone dials a different contact which is different altogather. Initially i thought that I have selected wrong contact but recently I noticed that the contact it actually called was way down in the list that it was not even visible.

Nokia Lumia :: 710 Caller Number Unknown When Calling?
Feb 19, 2012Just got Lumia 710 2 days ago, and upgraded it in Zune to the latest, and now I notice when I call from iphone 4s, it does not show the caller's number. However if I call from other cell phone or primus voip, it's fine.I have tried to swap the sim cards between Lumia 710 and iphone 4s, I still have the exact the same issue, so I am sure it's something to do with the phone not carrier.

Dec 30, 2011After having gone a couple of months withs with Gingerbread without any problems to report I started experiencing a strange thing with incoming calls, texts, emails, etc.For incoming calls, the number displayed is the correct number but the screen pulls an incorrect name from my contacts list and displays a picture (taken from either LinkedIn or Facebook profiles) that is from a third, different contact.So the number is for Contact A and is the actual caller, the name that is displayed is contact B and the photo is contact c.If I go to make an outgoing call, the same thing in the inverse occurs.I choose Contact A and it dials contact A but displays it is calling contact B.This has caused me to have to double & triple check when I am making calls to ensure that it is calling the right contacts.
A similar thing happens for texts, incoming texts display the correct number from which they are originating but display that they are from a different contact name.When I go to send a text and enter a number it indicates that it is sending it to the correct phone number but with a different name assocaited with that number. Finally, something similar is happening in email messaging. If I hit reply, while the actual email address is correct the contact name that it lists is incorrect.

So, I do not know who's calling me... it just say: Joe. But I have in my adrees book a Joe from Vodafone, a Joe from P&G and some other Joe's. On my old phone, when someone rang me, showed eg. Joe from Vodafone.

Lately when placing and receiving calls I cannot hear anything put dead air. No ring tone when calling out, or the voice of the caller when accepting a new call. To fix the issue I have pulled the battery. However, a few hours later the issue will start again.

At this point I could see my first entry in Contacts so i know the information is still on my computer, also i cannot install a new version of OVI.I recently lost my phone and need to retrieve my contacts, so I decided to install OVI onto another laptop, is there a file in my Nokia OVI folders on the old laptop that contains all my contacts that I can move over to the other computer with the working OVI software?

Jun 4, 2012I previously had a BB Curve. I store a lot of information in the notes portion of my contacts. With the Curve I could search for items stored in notes and it would display any contact that contained the search criteria. I currently have a BB Bold 9930. When I do the same type of search it doesn't retrieve the contact. I spent a lot of time and energy to store needed information for quick reference and now it is useless.

At times, I have seen that when I receive a call from the person who is already added in my contact list, the phone is just displaying the number and not the name of the person. When I check the Log, it also displays the number and not the name of the person.
I have imported my contact list from my previous handset (Nokia N70) where it worked absolutely fine. It is quite inconvenient to identify the caller without the name and decide whether to accept or reject during work hours and have at times missed some important calls due to that.

However, when I receive a call from one of my contacts calling without the country code prefix, the iPhone doesn't recognise the contact as the number calling. The only way it works is when I save the contact twice - once with and then without the country code prefix. Is there a fix for this?

Feb 26, 2010I have this weird problem on my 3GS. This is what happens:
1. Someone calls me from number not in my contacts.
2. I go to my "recents" and click the arrow, and then "create new contact".
3. I type a name (Lyle) and click "save".
4. In "recents" the number now shows up as "Lyle", everything seems ok.
5. In the "contacts app" Lyle does not exist. Therefore also does not sync with mobileme.
If I add a contact in the contact app itself, everything works fine.

A couple of days ago (nothing strange happened) this suddenly changed and now I can only see the number of the caller and not the name, which I find quite annoying.

Jul 18, 2010Is there a way to activate caller ID for my BB contact list? I just switched from a Samsung, on that phone I had caller ID for all the contacts in my contact list. My Blackberry doesn't seem to do this. As long as I had someone in my contact list their info was displayed when they called. Numbers that weren't in my contact list/phonebook would show as just the number-which is fine. Is there a way to have the BB do this as well? Its very frustrating as I have no idea who is calling me... If the info is already in the phone there should be a way to have that displayed when people call.
