Normally, when somebody calls you, you can see the name and telephonenumber (when this someone is in your contactlist) in the screen of your phone. A couple of days ago (nothing strange happened) this suddenly changed and now I can only see the number of the caller and not the name, which I find quite annoying.
View 3 Repliesafter I updated my Nokia E6 to the recent software, it doesnt show the callers names when receiving a call and when receiving an sms. I have to save the same number twice, once with international prefix example +963 (thats for my home country) and once without. When receiving calls it show the name only if saved without the prefix (unless its an international call) and when receiving sms it shows the name only when its saved with the international prefix. I didnt have that problem before the update!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought a Galaxy s5 & the Vodafone bloke tried to copy my contacts from my Galaxy Y to my Galaxy s5. I am not 100% sure the method he used but now on my new galaxy s5 i only have a list of contact NAMES but no numbers with those names. On my galaxy Y i only have numbers with NO names!
I've left my phone with them for 4 days now & they can't resolve the issue. They said that i have a VCR file.
I've been transferring some favourite ringtones onto my E6. Now when you personalise a profile and go to select a ringtone, you are given some location options, Download sound clips, tones, songs and sound clips.
The ringtones aren't songs so I'm not saving them with my music otherwise the media player will just treat them as music. So that rules out "songs" Tones seems to be a system folder in which the standard ringtones are saved and to which the user is not allowed to even see, never mind access.
So I decided I'll manually save my ringtones in the "sound clips" folder. I have tried saving my ringtones into the folder called "sound clips" which appears on all three drives, the phone memory, mass memory and memory card yet still nothing appears in "sound clips" selection when attempting to select a ringtone.
I hope I'm not missing something obvious here but does anyone know where the "sound clips" folder used by the ringtone selector is actually located?
As an aside, have you noticed when you browse the folders of the E6 using the built in file manager and then do the same from your PC via a USB connection, some of the folders have completely different names. Hardly logical or intuitive and it makes life difficult for numb nuts here trying to find his ringtones.
With previous Nokia phones I have been able to create names against phone numbers, necessary when I may have 6 or more phone numbers for one contact.
It seems impossible to do this with the E7-00, so I now have a list of phone numbers per contact and no way of telling the difference between each number.
when somebody calls me, phone shows who is calling and everything that it should show ,but when i answer it moves callers name, picture, time and everything that goes with call and it shows on the top of the screen that i have active call but i can not see anything about that call unless i press menu button for multitasking and than change to phone. i had three e71's but i never had this problem. i tried with removing active desktop
View 3 Replies View RelatedHaving problems with the E7 caller ID? Randomly the phone doesn't show the callers name, even if he/she is listed on my phonebook. This is not related to duplicate entries, because it works right after phone restart, but fails randomly. The SMS list is also affected, but not all the time. Few times a have seen a call come in and not show the name of the caller. After I have missed that call, I'll go to the missed calls list and there is the name of the caller?!

So, I do not know who's calling me... it just say: Joe. But I have in my adrees book a Joe from Vodafone, a Joe from P&G and some other Joe's. On my old phone, when someone rang me, showed eg. Joe from Vodafone.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen i receive an sms it only shows the number that send it, but that number is in my contactlist. I would expect that it would show the contact name. All sms message so far show only the number, except from 1 person. But i cannot figure out why it is not matching up the rest. I tried different phonenumber possibilities to put in the contact: I tried: erasing the contact, and add it via the sms menu option(add to contacts) erasing all sim contact to have no duplicates. upgrading to the latest firmware version. rebooting the phone,remove battery,add batterij, restart but nothing seem to fix the issue. Another symptom is that when sending an sms to a person it shows the contact list name in the sent items, but when that person replies the inbox shows again only the number.

My new Nokia E5 Contact List cannot be displayed. I have imported my contacts from my old Nokia 3120 classic unit successfully. I've done a power cycle, soft reset and updated the phone firmware/software.
Is it possible to see the company name in the contact list. I have the same first name for a lot of people but it helps to have the company name just next to it in smaller font? on the contact list screen.
