With previous Nokia phones I have been able to create names against phone numbers, necessary when I may have 6 or more phone numbers for one contact.
It seems impossible to do this with the E7-00, so I now have a list of phone numbers per contact and no way of telling the difference between each number.
I have a BB Bold 9780. I have been trying for sometime to find a solution to customize the 'Phone Numbers' field of 'Contacts'. The 'Phone Numbers' field has following sub fields- Mobile, Mobile 2, work, Work 2, Home, Home 2, Other, Work Fax, Home Fax and Pager. Is there someway I can customize them to my requirement? Is there an app or a software upgrade to customize these frozen fields to whatever I want?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been transferring some favourite ringtones onto my E6. Now when you personalise a profile and go to select a ringtone, you are given some location options, Download sound clips, tones, songs and sound clips.
The ringtones aren't songs so I'm not saving them with my music otherwise the media player will just treat them as music. So that rules out "songs" Tones seems to be a system folder in which the standard ringtones are saved and to which the user is not allowed to even see, never mind access.
So I decided I'll manually save my ringtones in the "sound clips" folder. I have tried saving my ringtones into the folder called "sound clips" which appears on all three drives, the phone memory, mass memory and memory card yet still nothing appears in "sound clips" selection when attempting to select a ringtone.
I hope I'm not missing something obvious here but does anyone know where the "sound clips" folder used by the ringtone selector is actually located?
As an aside, have you noticed when you browse the folders of the E6 using the built in file manager and then do the same from your PC via a USB connection, some of the folders have completely different names. Hardly logical or intuitive and it makes life difficult for numb nuts here trying to find his ringtones.
I am not able to see the contact names on all incoming and outgoing calls.I am also using the paid program / application Advanced Call Manger.Does this have any solutions?

A couple of days ago (nothing strange happened) this suddenly changed and now I can only see the number of the caller and not the name, which I find quite annoying.
View 3 Replies View Relatedafter I updated my Nokia E6 to the recent software, it doesnt show the callers names when receiving a call and when receiving an sms. I have to save the same number twice, once with international prefix example +963 (thats for my home country) and once without. When receiving calls it show the name only if saved without the prefix (unless its an international call) and when receiving sms it shows the name only when its saved with the international prefix. I didnt have that problem before the update!

But when an incoming call comes in I do get the name resolution of the person calling and his mobile no which is stored in the contacts.I tried backing up the mobile and all the time the backup of contacts could not happened and besides Contacts rest all is backed up....

Even worse, I have about 200 contacts that I need transfered to my new phone (Nokia actually).To do this, I want to copy my contacts to the SIM card. As you have probably realized by now, the broken screen makes this a challenge. What I'm hoping for is that someone with an E66 will give me a keypress-by-keypress walkthrough to copy the contacts from the phone to the SIM. That way, I can hopefully do it blindly.
