updated E72 FW to 081.003 Took a backup before and after update Phone was causing some issues after update so formatted it ( *#7370# )Unable to restore contacts, but messages restore fine On trying to restore contacts, the process fails and the phone disconnects and asks for a restart. post restart there are no contacts as before.Tried restoring from both pre and post update backups Contacts are present in the backup file (checked using free Noki, contact count is correct but the free version will only allow access to 50 contacts)

I just updated my E6 to v25.007 and now I can't connect to the internet. When I want to connect to the internet, a message pops up with this message: "connection failed, access denied". I tried different settings and also different sim cards. I even can't connect with WiFi, it gives the same message.

Hi , I need to display only Sim contacts in phone contacts option rather than contacts that are saved in memory card. According to me knowledge there is a bug in these cell phone perhaps if you have any old nokia phone you may find this option.

Since updating my E71 to v500, and then to v510 just recently, I have been suffering from terrible battery life when the phone is connected to a WiFi access point. I'm sure it's not a hardware problem, as I noticed it as soon as I first updated to v500. If I leave the E71 connected to WiFi, my battery will be flat in just a couple of hours and the phone is noticeably hot to the touch. I initially thought it may be the battery being a problem, so I bought a new one but still exactly the same.
On another point, the Podcasting application is now terribly slow. I wish I would have never updated from V300, which was fine. I've tried reinstalling the F/W a few times, and not restoring from a backup, but still the same problem. I also read in another thread that someone deleted the Lotus Notes application, and it fixed this problem, but alas, has not done so for me.

I wasn't able to back up all my information via PC Suite as the connection kept going, so I backed it all up to my memory card. The phone is now working OK (including connecting to PC Suite) but I can't see the option to restore the information (calendar and contacts) from my memory card to my phone. I know it should be in File Manager, Memory Card, Options, but the option simply isn't there- I can either remove my memory card, or back up my phone to the memory card which as it has no information on it I don't want to do!

I backed everything up, updated my E72's software and perforned a hard reset. But now, after I performed a restore, applications I bought from Ovi Store are all gone and other software is back!

I have thousands of messages (SMS, Bluetooth, etc.) sorted and stored in a folder tree in "My folders" on my E71-1 (somewhat like Outlook).I tried exporting as CSV file (using Best MessageStorer), but then I could not figure out how to import the messages in the CSV file (Noki Gems crashes). In addition, only text and html are exported leaving out all the Bluetooth messages! Is there a way to backup and restore these (like Outlook)?

How can one import SMS messages to a new Nokia phone (a Nokia e6 for example) from an Android (or an iPhone) phone? Is there a cross-format SMS backup/restore conversion tool or technique anyone can recommend?Essentially, I managed to port my old SMS messages from a Nokia to an Android mobile successfully using a combination of two straight forward apps (OVI exported CSV file converted to XML, then using a popular Android app to restore onto the Android phone).How would I carry this out in reverse - to copy the last few months SMSs from the Android phone back to my new Nokia e6?

I amusing E63 mobile phone. I am not been able to view the contacts in the mobile, so not been able to use the same. But when an incoming call comes in I do get the name resolution of the person calling and his mobile no which is stored in the contacts.I tried backing up the mobile and all the time the backup of contacts could not happened and besides Contacts rest all is backed up....

The screen on my E66 recently broke as a result, I can't see anything that I'm doing. Even worse, I have about 200 contacts that I need transfered to my new phone (Nokia actually).To do this, I want to copy my contacts to the SIM card. As you have probably realized by now, the broken screen makes this a challenge. What I'm hoping for is that someone with an E66 will give me a keypress-by-keypress walkthrough to copy the contacts from the phone to the SIM. That way, I can hopefully do it blindly.

I have just got a new Nokia E72 I want to transfer the contacts off my old phone The old phone is a 3 Skypephone S2, which is not compatible for a bluetooth transfer.I stored all the details onto the memory card, put it into new phone, and saved them to the new Nokia so they are on the right phone...Now I just need to know HOW to put them from where they are stored on the memory card, into my 'contacts' list so I can use them?

love my E7, which i bought a few days ago second hand. However, the contacts are very annoying. I can create and save new contacts, add them to my favourites etc etc. However the moment you click into the contact for a detailed view the contacts app locks up! I performed uodates and had no luck... So I'm asking here. How can I make my contacts work normally

I recently bought a new Nokia E5. But i have problems with my contactlist, i can't open it and see my contacts. When i'm in the menu and i want to go to contacts all i get is a black window that will close after 5 seconds. Now I want to slove that problem and copie all my contacts from my sim-card. But when I get a message i can see from who it is so i don't understand the problem. when I want to send a new message and select a new contact the phone also don't let me in my contact list.

b) Some time after deleting a specific number (but retaining the contact) it returns.
Phone is an E6-00 running Belle. Default is phone memory.

I am getting some problems with my Nokia E7-00. While using the mail app, when I enter the 'contact search' options, I enter a contact name and select search. But there is always a message saying "Seach failed, try again later"!!! I have two mail accounts on my phone and this happens to both.

I have several people in my contact list. Of course, all of them has its name/surname.But I can see only their number in Protocol (Missed calls, Called numbers)From some reason, the numbers are not translated to names there, what is very uncomfortable and I am not able to see, who was calling me.Just only few persons are "translated".I am using Exchange Active Sync for synchronize contacts with Exchange server (is this related ?)

I wokeup and restarted my phone cause it was acting a bit too slow. after the restart, i lost all my contacts. i restarted again but nothing happened. i did a ovi sync restore, and even then nothing happened. I know for sure that i had contacts on ovi sync server. it was set to "sync when data changes".

I borrowed a friend's E52 for a while and transferred my contacts, and it was great to have the option to simply click on Show in maps to navigate to their door. But that option is not in the Contacts app on the E66. Surely it could be easily included in a firmware update but it wasn't in the last one - will it be in the next one?
