BB Curve 8300 :: Customizing SMS Ringtones For Certain Contacts?
Feb 8, 2010
I have went through all of the steps it has told me to go through in order to have certain sms tones for certain contacts. However, it still uses the same tone for every contact, what do I do?
With previous Nokia phones I have been able to create names against phone numbers, necessary when I may have 6 or more phone numbers for one contact.
It seems impossible to do this with the E7-00, so I now have a list of phone numbers per contact and no way of telling the difference between each number.
I have a BB Bold 9780. I have been trying for sometime to find a solution to customize the 'Phone Numbers' field of 'Contacts'. The 'Phone Numbers' field has following sub fields- Mobile, Mobile 2, work, Work 2, Home, Home 2, Other, Work Fax, Home Fax and Pager. Is there someway I can customize them to my requirement? Is there an app or a software upgrade to customize these frozen fields to whatever I want?
security wipe (not done on purpose ) deleted all my contacts but nothing else . Is there any way by any means to get them back ? No sink backup was mad prior to this and just now have a computer to use to do this or anything else . the security wipe had something to do with spelling blackberry and entering a password . The reason was to delete a certificate but once I enetered the password the screen went white ----a progress bar appeared and when it was done and rebooted all my contacts were gone and the cert was still there.
Can you add contacts using the Desktop Manager software? I'm really, really lost on how to enter them without having to type them in with the tiny little keyboard.
I'm a BB newbie but recently received one for work. My problem is trying to transfer the contacts from my old cell phone (Sanyo SCP-7050) to my new Curve 8330. I took it to my local Sprint store and they said the contacts can't be transferred because the BB is registered on a BES. The Bluetooth connection won't work either, I assume for the same reason.Am I out of luck or is there some other way I can get the contacts into my BB? I have the contacts stored as individual business card files (.vcf) and was hoping there is a way to use the micro SD card to load them on somehow.
Am using a Curve 8350 and am unable to place calls through contacts folder. When you click on a contact and press send (the phone number is in the contact with area code), it rings once and says that the call cannot take place and it is an incorrect number. When you hand-dial the same exact phone number and press send, it goes through. Any ideas on how to fix?
A month ago my 8310 Curve, v. 4.5.0.55 (Platform 2.7.0.68) service provider O2, stopped being able to search and find Contacts unless I had added them after that date. These newer Contacts have not been folded into the original Address Book, but are all in a new and alphabetised list at the end of the original Contacts list. There are no Categories assigned, no Network sync, and Content is not protected. The Contacts are in the phone, not on the SIM.
Before this, I could type in to the Address Book or the phone the first 2-3 letters of someone's name and it would take me to that contact - now it says there's no such person. So I have to scroll through the entire address book to get to who I want, and then I can call/SMS etc.
I copied my contacts from an old phone to the MicroSD card in it and then put that card into my Blackberry Curve. The Curve is not finding the contacts. Is there something I can do to get the phone to see the contacts?
I just got my BB lastnight I am just wondering can I have different ringers for different people and also a different ringer for my messages? I can not find out where to go to set it all up.
I can set a default ringtone but set specific tones for individual contacts. My old Samsung phone also allowed this with text notification tones. Work message could be one sound while family and friends were another.
According to the manual (iOS 5.1), one is able to customize a contact label but my label options are restricted to seven, none of which allows a customized label.is one of my settings wrong?
As I'm slowly setting up my phone I've finally gotten around to ringtones. I'm having trouble assigning a specific ringtone to a specific contact. It appears that if the contact has a picture the option to change the ringtone is greyed out. All contacts without a picture I can change just fine.
Since I like to know who is calling without pulling the phone out of my pocket...this is really starting to bother me.
Can I change any of the four app launch options on the initial unlock screen? I rarely use the camera, but there is another app I would like to be able to open quickly.
I am trying to assign a ringtone to a contact on a E51 with latest firmware. When editing the contact, I select Options->Ringing tone, and then the only two selections available are "Download sounds" and "Default tone", even though I have many ringtones which show up when changing the ringtone for a profile.I thought this is something I had been able to do in the past. The only thing different now is that I have my contacts synchronized with a Mail for Exchange (3.0) account, could that be the problem? The same thing happens if I try to assign a ringtone to a group. How can I fix this so I can assign ringtones to specific contacts?
there is a plug-in for custom ringtones per contact! it is in the Extras repository open xterm apt-get install per-contact-ringtones you will notice that it is integrated with the contacts manager.after you open a contact, tap the menu and you will now have an option "custom ring tone"
Pre-Lollipop, I was able to have a different ringtone for each contact. This was set in the 'Contacts' app. I can't seem to see how to do this in Lollipop.
I would like to start off by saying that I DO like my Cliq.I noticed problems with my News Widget. It would stop updating.I tried taking the battery out, etc. After some searching, I realized I wasn't running the most updated software. So, after some challenges with the update, I finally got my phone updated. That was followed by a total reset. Not happy about that, but seemed the only way to go in order to work out some kinks with the upgrade. So now I am trying to reset all of my personalizations. Now this is where my most recent problems are.How do I set ringtones for my contacts? Each way I have tried only lets me choose from the defaults or factory installed tones.
My contacts is in extras-devel and works great. it has a full screen widget you can turn on and off too.i have been able to create 4 groups of people/contacts and assign rings to them. (currently only see wav files) i am sure there will be some updates to make it better, but it is a great start. i have had no issues with it so far, so even the noob should be ok trying it.
I have an Experia x10 Mini pro. Firmare version 2.1 update, kernel 2.6.29 build 2.1.1.A.0.6. I have read through the manual and followed the instructions to asign individual ringtones to contacts. The problem is that when a contact with a specific ringtone calls it only plays the normal ringtone. The ringtones I am trying the use are mp3 files which are drm free and 30 seconds in length. They are on the SD card under audio/ringtones. I also notice that when these contacts call me they show up on screen as unknown.
Like the title says, I am trying to make my Nexus 6 assign certain ringtones to certain contacts on my phone using Zedge. Now I go through the process and it takes the tone and I save it on the contact but then it just goes back to using the default ringtone in the settings menu. I used this to do the assignment and it still won't do it. I don't understand why it won't let me put custom ring tones I contacts, I like to have a ring and text tone for each person on my phone that way I know who it is before I even look at the phone.
