- Since noon today, all the pics attached to my contacts are blinking
- Quality of the pictures in favorites have suddenly come down drastically
- Speed had come down though there is 1.2 GB RAM is free
Sometimes when I touch power button to start using the device, only empty standard ( factory standard) wallpaper shows up, no user interface at all. What is more the screen keeps going on/off uncontrollably about once per second. There is no way to interact with the device. Only thing that works is to press power long enough to get "turn power off" option and restart.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've owned my Nexus 5 now for about a year now, but recently when i turned my phone on and went to a random app the screen glitched out and froze. turned it off and on after but nothing but a black screen (back light comes on but screen still shows nothing but black). I'll also note i can feel the phone vibrating when i turn the phone on and off but just no visual.I went through about 20 reboots and wallah! phone turns on, BUT i got as far as the lock screen before it glitched out and the screen eventually going black(touchscreen still works while phone is functioning for like 5 seconds).

Next morning I was playing on my phone and it suddenly became very hot in the bottom of the screen and there was a lot of color flickering as shown in the video: [URL] ....
I wiped the software, but it didn't work. Screen replacement provider has asked me to rub the connector port flex cable with some alcohol, but it didn't work.
My nexus 5 is suddenly having a problem with the screen that the lower half of the screen is sometimes flickering or is distorted. It has never been dropped and has never been immersed in water. How to diagnose the problem as I can't RMA it. Is this a problem with the gpu or the lcd?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my phone suddenly started flickering out of the blue. And had lines going down vertically. I restarted the phone and then the display was fine but the touch screen wouldn't work. Upon another restart it was just a blank screen with white vertical lines.
Figuring something must be wrong with the screen I ordered a new one, and upon install the new screen has the same problem. Blank screen vertical white lines. Not sure if another component is faulty.
Light Flow works... but then the LED just stays blinking even after I read my text message.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't delete a new contact on the Nexus 5. Quick synopsis of what's going on: Go to > contacts > name of contact. Contact has Star, + contact Icon, and 3 vertical dots on the far right with "Share & Place on Home Screen" why an already created contact with name has a "+ contact" icon. All other contacts have a "pencil" contact that I can tap and then hit delete on. How do I delete this contact? I just recently added it by hitting the save contact when I received a tex.

1) Export a vcard from iCloud.
2) Saved the v card (a vcf file) on Google Drive
3) Opened People on my Nexus 5, and clicked on three dots and Import/Export
4) Click Import from Storage (The other option is 'Import from SIM Card': if I click that, it just says 'No contacts on your SIM card'
5) I get the message 'searching for card data in storage', and then, finally, the message 'couldn't import card'.
6) There is also a message in notifications: Couldn't import vCard, the format isn't supported.
So, what to do: or even just if it is possible?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo last week I was off on March break with my family and I took several pictures Tuesday and Wednesday on my phone of my kids, even remember showing a few of them in the evenings to my wife. Realized I forgot to turn on "auto backup" to google drive (or whatever it's called) and turned that on at some point mid-week.
On Friday I went out with my son and snapped a few more pics, and realized all the pictures I had from Mon - Wed were gone. Not in the Gallery app, not in the Photos app, and now that I'm checking with a computer, I simply can't find them anywhere on the phone at all.
I certainly didn't go through each photo and select "Delete" or anything like that! Unless there was a delete all button that I somehow clicked accidentally (which would seem really odd) and deleted all photos from the camera itself (it's a new RMA'd camera so all I had were the photos from Mon-Wed).

A friend of mine sent me an email in Gmail with inline pictures, the pictures are displayed perfectly in my nexus 7 (2013, non rooted gmail 4.8 (1167183)) and desktop automatically when i open the email. This not happens in my Nexus 5 mobile. They only displayed as an empty line square with a small icon at the center. In order to view the pictures i have to download and save them one by one to Nexus 5 (or upload and save to Gdrive) and open the jpg file(s). The is no "show image" button.
The setting "Data Usage/Images" (at the bottom of the screen) is already set to "Always show" and the box for "Auto fit messages" is checked in "Settings/General Settings" in the default gmail account. Also "auto download attachments" is set.
I am getting messages that I am near my picture limit. How do I get my pictures back from the cloud and cancel the cloud?

View 22 Replies View RelatedIn CM 11, I could long press on a picture in the messaging application, and get an option to save or export to SD card/internal storage. On CM 12 messaging, I do not get any menu when long pressing.
When I click on a picture it opens in the gallery app, where I have an option to set as wallpaper or print, but still no option to save to SD/internal storage.
If MMS come in as a gallery, I can save those. But I can't figure it out for an individual image.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently switched from iPhone 5 to Nexus 5 and have the following issue:
When I open the dialer (Phone part of the phone) it takes several seconds to minutes to populate the contacts in the speed dialer ... when I try and just type in a name it pulls from Google search and not my contacts.
Then when it does finally load, I call a friend who IS IN MY CONTACT's but when I dial the number it lists the number as an old business that used to have that number years ago.
I have the same issue when I try and open "People" apps too ... takes almost a full 1-2 minutes to load (I only have 438 contacts).
I know a minute is now long but when you want to make a phone call waiting 60 seconds it crap.
What I'd like to do:
1. I have a group in my contacts.
2. Send an SMS to that group in hangouts.
What I can do at the moment is write an sms and add people individually. That might be fine if I only want to message a few people, but not if I want to message 10 or so. So how can I select a group? Tbh this is my first android phone, been using an old Nokia 5800 before and there was an option to select groups in the sms app.
Can't find an option to email a group in the gmail app either.

My N5 will not open photos. I get a message saying "couldn't download MMS". This is starting to get annoying and I'm not sure if its a T-Mobile issue or a N5 issue.

View 12 Replies View Related My nexus 5 is having screen issues and the screen basically doesn't function due to what I can only assume is a bad connection on the mainboard ( if I press in the right area with the back cover off the screen will flicker and work a tiny bit if I reboot the phone.) My issue is I still have tons of pictures that are very dear to me on the device and need to get them off of it.
When I connect it to my pc (windows 7) it connects and shows up as a nexus 5 device but nothing will appear in the folder. Im fairly certain I have the correct drivers installed as well. So how can I get it to connect properly with having basically no access to the screen?
I have received a half dozen or so phone calls since I upgraded to Lollipop, and so far every call that I've had has a caller ID picture assigned in contacts, but none have shown up with a picture while the call is actually ringing my phone.
Has Google removed caller ID pictures on incoming calls, or is there something else going on here?

I've noticed that in hangouts, I've set an individual custom ringtone for someone, and every single time I reboot my phone, it resets that particular ringtone to the stock ringtone that I have set.
