View 12 RepliesI've created Contact Groups that are placed under Phone Contacts (Not Gmail Contacts!).Now I try to delete them and they do disappear from my apps like Contacts GroupU.But if you check the View Contacts - Display Contacts - Phone Contacts from the Phonebook (top left icon in Contactlist) all groups are still there. Some that were created twice are even listed double.I would like to know how I can remove those groups from the list.If I keep a group from the Gmail lst pressed, then I get a popup offering me to delete the sync group.I hope you understand my problem. If not I will take a picture and upload it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI send group messages for work as well as to the parents of the baseball team that I coach. I have these groups set up in my Google Contacts. Unfortunately groups don't show up on the Moto X contacts. I can't understand why, but they don't. On my Note 4 I can start a text, select the group from my contacts and type my message. It's quick and easy. If I were to do that on the Moto X I would need to select each contact individually. That's ridiculous. Am I missing something? Is there a way to see my contact groups and send a text message to them?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got a replacement N5 and I'm using the native email app (as I was on my previous N5), with gmail syncing turned on. The problem is when I delete an email on my phone, it's not deleting it from the Gmail server (it's still there if I check email on my PC). Some setting on the phone or in Gmail on the PC that I'm forgetting about?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have BMW X5 (produced in 2014) and enjoyed seeing/searching all my contacts in the car transferred via bluetooth while I was using iPhone. Now I switched to Nexus 6 and my contacts no longer show in BMW, while bluetooth pairing was successful. I can make calls in the car, receive calls in the car, see my sms messages on the car screen, etc. The only option that is missing is contacts view and search.

Droid 3. Trying to group my contacts but when I give the new group a name and hit OK, the group does not show up in the listing. All I have is System Group: My contacts.
Also, in Gmail, I have my contact grouped but don't know how to sync them down to the phone, if that's possible. If I could do that it would be much easier and faster than manually setting them up on the phone, since the categorization is already completed.
How to get gmail notifications for even those mails which are classified under social / promotions / forums. Right now I get email notifications on my nexus 5 only for those emails which get classified under primary and that also not instantly !!
View 1 Replies View RelatedGmail for Android: 4.8 (1167183)
Nexus 5 , non-rooted
A friend of mine sent me an email in Gmail with inline pictures, the pictures are displayed perfectly in my nexus 7 (2013, non rooted gmail 4.8 (1167183)) and desktop automatically when i open the email. This not happens in my Nexus 5 mobile. They only displayed as an empty line square with a small icon at the center. In order to view the pictures i have to download and save them one by one to Nexus 5 (or upload and save to Gdrive) and open the jpg file(s). The is no "show image" button.
The setting "Data Usage/Images" (at the bottom of the screen) is already set to "Always show" and the box for "Auto fit messages" is checked in "Settings/General Settings" in the default gmail account. Also "auto download attachments" is set.
Somewhere along the way I lost the "Reply, Delete" and body of messages in my notification window(just have a single height notification). I've uninstalled anything notification related, and reset Gmail back to factory, but haven't had any luck.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to find the setting on how to turn gmail cards on. I'm not sure if it's just on or what but I do not see the setting anymore in Google Now's settings. I only see "Sports teams", "Stocks", "Places", "Everything else" (which only has 4 settings, and gmail not being one of them).
How to turn this on? I'm presuming it's not working because my package tracking cards haven't been showing up.
I have a gmail email as well as a hotmail email and it has just stopped syncing my hotmail emails even if I toggle sync and click sync now it will not work. Only way it will work is if I remove the account and add it again. Then it will work one time.. I've tried the troubleshooting from Google with no avail.

View 10 Replies View RelatedLollipop - Nexus 5
The previous email app which is no longer supported by Lollipop allowed one to delete an email from the app without deleting it from the server (Comcast) if it was a POP account. This was handy because it removed clutter from my phone inbox but allowed me to read and reply to the same email on my desktop (POP email). Just now I read and then deleted an email (Comcast) from the GMail app and attempted to read and reply to that email on my desktop. Horrors. It's gone. It doesn't appear in my email client (Thunderbird) nor on the server.
I could not find any way to change that behavior in GMail under settings. The missing emails are in the trash folder on the phone but I couldn't figure out a way to transfer them back to the inbox or even less likely to get them back on the server. I will now, of course, be careful not to delete any email messages from GMail but I wonder if any way to change the behavior of the app?
I may have stopped "google framwork services" last week, but I do not think this is related.Basically, my gmail app no longer gets push notifications or syncs automatically.I have android 5.0.1. nexus 5 and the latest gmail app versions. I have checked all settings in the app, and made sure that all my sync settings are enabled. I can see that the last sync of gmail was over 30 minutes ago, yet I've sent emails to my gmail account since then and they appear on the web version. The app won;t show new emails until I manually refresh within the app.
I googled a bit and saw that some people with a similar issue dod a "factory reset" to solve. that seems a bit extreme. Is there any other way around this. I've done all the usual things, cleared data in gmail app and forced stop and restarted phone.I even removed my google account and readded it. nothing worked.
Rather than using the yahoo mail app i simply use gmail to access my yahoo account, but for the last few weeks it hasn't been syncing.
I delete the account and re add it and it works for a day but then it stops syncing, i delete the account again and add it and it works for another day but then it stops. Is yahoo neutering anyone that isn't using their app to check mail?
Since updating Lollipop to 5.1, Google Now will not recognize contacts with voice. It repeatedly gives me the response, "You don't have contact details for ___." I have deleted and then restored accounts, cleared cache, checked to make sure all settings are correct in Google Now, all to no avail.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have questions about animated gif file(s) which is send by Android Gmail as attachment My device is non rooted N5 with kitkat (4.4.4); gmail is 5.0.1 (1642443).
1) Unable to open gif attachment as animated file in gmail, I usually use Quickpic to open gif file in my device and in cloud storage because Gallary dose not work. But in gmail i do not have to option to choose the app, the default image viewer in gmail ( may be gallery ?) dose not display the animated effect. So i have to save the file to my phone or to Gdrive to see the animation. Is there a way to view the animation directly in the email without save the file??

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't delete a new contact on the Nexus 5. Quick synopsis of what's going on: Go to > contacts > name of contact. Contact has Star, + contact Icon, and 3 vertical dots on the far right with "Share & Place on Home Screen" why an already created contact with name has a "+ contact" icon. All other contacts have a "pencil" contact that I can tap and then hit delete on. How do I delete this contact? I just recently added it by hitting the save contact when I received a tex.
View 12 Replies View RelatedHow can I import contacts into People? This is what I have done so far:
1) Export a vcard from iCloud.
2) Saved the v card (a vcf file) on Google Drive
3) Opened People on my Nexus 5, and clicked on three dots and Import/Export
4) Click Import from Storage (The other option is 'Import from SIM Card': if I click that, it just says 'No contacts on your SIM card'
5) I get the message 'searching for card data in storage', and then, finally, the message 'couldn't import card'.
6) There is also a message in notifications: Couldn't import vCard, the format isn't supported.
So, what to do: or even just if it is possible?
In 99.9999% of cases I do not want to message someone on google+. Is there anyway I can remove all the google+ integration from the hangouts messaging app and use it only for sms?
View 9 Replies View RelatedLove the phone - just got a really irritating problem. I've synced my phone with my gmail account - the My Contacts list has my key contact email addresses. Then I have multiple groups within gmail account relating to work emails etc, nearly 500 odd.
On the phone, when I click my 'Contacts' button, initially it showed all my phone number contacts, as well all google email contacts mixed with them. I corrected this by going to 'display options' to select 'display only contacts with phone numbers', so that I didn't have to trawl through random email addresses mixed with my proper phone contacts. Great, sorted.
But, when I go to compose a text message - if it is to one or two specific contacts it is fine...I just type their name and it comes up. If I want to scroll through all my phone contacts to send the same message to multiple contacts, big problem - I press that envelope button in the top right corner next to 'enter recipient', and it takes me to the Contacts list, but here it still shows ALL 600 odd contacts with phone contacts still mixed with google email contacts, which is impossible to scroll through and select multiple people to send a text message to....Does anyone know how to sort this out?!??!
