I made the mistake of letting Facebook touch my phone, and now Facebook thinks it owns the damn thing.
No matter how many times I set the contact pictures on my contacts to the pictures I want (and in the list of linked contacts, it shows the correct pictures), the contact's main picture is their Facebook profile picture, and if they don't have one, then it's the generic Facebook blue head.
Had a search but cant find anything about this on a 9300 curve
I have the pre installed facebook app and have just started adding some contacts , now a few have added the facebook picture and logo and others havent, How can I ensure all my contacts (well the ones on facebook) have the picture showing ?
Is there a way i can tell my HTC one to take pictures from Linkedin instead of from Facebook for my contacts? As you know...some facebook pictures can be pretty out there.

Recently I have noticed that my facebook contact pictures o my phone (ray) has not been updating. Thought it was my phone so I have removed facebook and facebook inside xperia from accounts and sync and even clear the data from facebook in appications.
Readding the accounts, facebook is syncing up but I do not get any pictures, the photos/interest info is there when you view my contact but the picture is not there.
Is anyone having the same issue, there a bug in the recent update?
I just switched to the HTC One M9 and am using GoSMS Pro for my messaging. In my Phonebook Contacts, all of my linked FB contacts have their current profile pic showing up but in the GoSMS Pro app, they just show up as default blue avatar. I can manually save each profile pic and assign it to a contact, but I don't want to have to do that for all of my FB friends!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my Droid X back in December and the Facebook pictures for each contact haven't updated once since I got the phone. I've tried telling it to sync, but the pictures remain the same. Also, with some of my contacts it lists their Twitter name as their name, even if I type in a new name. Is there some way to set a default name? When I'm searching for someone to call/text, I don't normally think of them by their Twitter name, so it can make some people difficult to find. Other people come up by the names I set them to. Not sure what I did differently there.

I had an OG Droid and I loved the fact that everyone's pictures were just brought in. I have signed into the same account on Motorola's Facebook app as well as the Facebook for Android.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was uploading pictures to facebook using the facebook app, and my photos froze, so I didn't know how to cancel them so I turned off my phone. After that I turned it back on and went to upload the pictures again and I seen Iron Man 2 pictures there, so I went to my galley to check it out and they were there. Five pictures I think, I can't remember I deleted them, they were pretty small. Anyone else have this or an idea of what happened? They weren't on there before I turned my phone off?

The 2nd attempt worked but I now have a permanent notification telling me that the 1st upload progress is at 0% & I can't get rid of it.
How often does mail, friendstream and facebook update? It seem that it only check the mail every hour and facebook every 3 hours, friendstream doesn't update unless I tell it to. Is there any way to speed these up in an option I haven't found yet?

From Gallery/Picture i can get the list of options from which I pick "Set as" then "contact icon" it then asks to select from ASTRO or HTC people.When I "select contact" it says that no contact matches? From time to time the contact name would show (reason undetermined), but still without the photo. I am using a stock messaging app and the phone is not modded in any way. All contacts are Google contacts duplicated and linked to Phone contacs (although I tried erasing Phone contacts and using only Google contacts - to no avail.) Each contact has got a +48 country prefix. The "People" list is showing photos without a problem. I previously had a classic Desire and the messaging app worked fine.

The one thing that has killed performance on all phones I've liked (iPhone 5, Galaxy Note 4, etc) has been a software update that exceeds the phone's capability. Going from KitKat to Lollipop on the Verizon Note 4 was a mistake that I never could turn back from since Verizon installed a bootloader OTA, too. Same for the iPhone going through iOS 7, 8, etc;
When I got my LG G4, the phone was constantly prompting me to install a software update. I couldn't tell much information about what build or version it was, and once I hit "OK", there were no further checks - boom, update. Luckily it turned out fine, (software verison VS98611A), but I'd like to not get constant prompts or an automatic update in the future as I don't want to ruin the phone's excellent performance. How to stop the phone from doing this in the future?

my S6 is restarting itself every here and there, after I installed the Alliance Framework v3.1 on my XtreStoLite Deo-Mod Edition 2.4. What could be the matter. I just flashed the Framework with TWRP and it said it was successfull and the framework is fully functioning but just the forced restarts are troubling.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi'm on 0s 6 am not at all happy that i am forced to use my mobile connection to download or watch Internet videos, phone will just connect to wifi to start with, but as soon as i start to stream a video or download it up pops 3g in top corner of screen. i know i could just turn off mobile network and just use wifi. i dont want to do this because i would also like to be able to recieve a call or text.
